Everything came out fine. The repair was professional. They were thorough, clean, and meticulous. I had no problems with their work.

Everything turned out great. I liked their service and that they were able to come over afterhours when they running late.

The first guy who came first out was fantastic. When we called them again to put in more outlets, the guy who came out didn’t know what to do, so he had to call someone else. That person also didn’t know what to do, and he in turn had to call someone else.

Michael & Son's wins this year's great customer service award! From start to finish everything was handled in the best way possible. I received multiple calls from the person who reviewed the job and provided a quote letting me know what to expect and even telling me that he was leaving the Peninsula for our appointment in Norfolk, calling me when he was at the tunnel, calling when he got through the tunnel, and as he arrived at my house. I thought that was great especially considering their competition didn't call or show up on time for a quote. The work itself was done perfectly AND they recommend some upgrades that bring a 60 year old house up to date with a new system and ductwork. We got a duct cleaning as part of this service as well which I am sure was sorely needed. The price for everything was a bit more than we had received from some competitors but we went with Michael & Son's based on a recommendation from a friend and the level of service they provided throughout the process. Anyone who uses Michael & Son's will be pleased, I'm sure of it. One thing in particular that I really liked is that after explaining what we wanted/needed, the rep from Michael & Son's didn't try to get us to do anything outlandish or unnecessary - he actually listened to our goals and responded with how he could meet them. That's refreshing.

This company went out of its way to accommodate me when the GFI outlet to my freezer would not reset. They were able to work me into the schedule and fix things.

They were extremely overpriced by several thousand dollars for the same generator that I can get at other places. Plus I would have to sign a two year contract for service. If you look up the word rip off in the Angie's List dictionary, there would be a picture of Michael's. They put on a big production when they came to my house and put down a nice door mat at the front door and shoe covers. They came in and told me all they were going to do for me and I felt like they had done it to me. I wondered if they were crazy. I don't recommend them but they were nice.

I could not be more pleased! After a few difficulties, everyone did an exceptional job and Michael & Son has gone to extraordinary lengths to meet my expectations and make sure I am satisfied. When first installed, the system took longer than I thought reasonable to reach a satisfactory cooling level. The installation team worked hard to reach that level and ended up working much longer than anyone expected. They did so with good cheer and professionalism. My wife was concerned about some of the settings and I notified the company via e-mail. I got a call within 15 minutes of sending it! We discussed the issue and a technician was scheduled immediately to check the setting at my earliest convenience. Additionally, the installation manage came out to assure we were satisfied. One service which was scheduled for the installation date was postponed due illness. It was rescheduled with a "may not cancel" mandate from the manager. Moreover, he scheduled a repair that was necessary -- and common -- from the installation for the same time. The inspection of the setting was exceptionally thorough. The repair work and reschedule service was performed quickly and on time. The Installation Manager called twice (i.e. both phone numbers he had) to assure we were satisfied. The one thing left to do he acted on immediately. Before choosing Michael & Son, I contacted 9 other vendors. All were fully vetted and I cannot believe I would have been more satisfied with anyone else. I recommended them without hesitation.

Called to get info on prices to have cable outlet installed ...stated this upfront...representative said I had to give her my name, tn, address before she could give info....gave her the info and she proceeds to tell me she'll check to see when a tech could come out...i said wait a minute I called to get info on prices and she says Oh we can't do that over the phone, we have to come out to give you the pricing, I said no thank you and she says thank you for choosing Michael and sons....evidently the read a script and do not listen to what the customer is saying or asking.....no way to run a business in my opinion.

I?ll start this off by saying that I have had a number of contractors perform work in my home, and Michael and Son is by far the most professional that I have dealt with. They were on time, respectful, courteous, clean, appreciative of my business, and had no problem with my 18 month old son trying to climb all over everyone and everything. My overall impression is that this was a pleasant experience from start to finish, and I would definitely recommend them to others. Specifics. Started off with the estimate (1 of 4 that we received). Our appointment was for the morning, but did not end up happening until the late afternoon. That was ok though, because it was a rainy day and customer service from M&S called us 2-3 times to update us on the new times. Salesman (Keith) arrived, laid down the M&S matt at our door, put on his shoe covers, and came in. We spent about two hours going through our needs, asking a lot of questions, figuring out the best system for us, etc. Turns out that Keith is also a technician. No pressure, no gimmicks, no up-sell, very informative meeting. A week or so (and a little bit of negotiating) later, we decided to go with M&S and made the call. Installation Day?the real test. Crew (Floyd and Randy) gave us a call early morning to let us know they were on their way. When they showed up we went over the work to be done. There was one discrepancy, but it was resolved immediately?no balking, no having to call the office, etc. I quote ?If that?s what you talked about, that?s what we will do.? After that, they laid down the mat at the door, put on the shoe covers, thoroughly covered our floor with drop cloths from entrance to HVAC closet, and got to work. I was pretty impressed. These guys went non-stop for 10 hours! Often times, one was working outside on the condenser side, while the other was working inside on the air handler. I watched a good deal of the work, and they had no problem showing me what they were doing, and explaining why. Even though it was a long day, they never seemed to be rushed, or impatient to leave. When the installation was complete, they took the time (1-2hrs) to properly test the system and ensure that everything was functioning properly. I would definitely let these guys back in my home. A month later. The system is working great and I have received multiple thank you cards from the salesman and crew for my business, as well as M&S truck shaped tin of cookies that my son loves. I highly recommend M&S.

Our HVAC unit had not been seen for maintenance for about two years, so we were pleased to see a special deal on Angie's List for an annual tune-up for air conditioning. Once we established a connection and a service date, the technician arrived promptly and serviced both the HVAC in our attic as well as the compressor outside. While he was working, he was attentive to my questions and was exceptionally forthcoming on things to look for on a regular basis to prevent problems from arising in the future. While we had not experienced any difficulties with the unit or the air conditioning flow itself, the technician was exceptionally thorough and identified a need to replace the switching mechanism before it burned out. He also took exceptional care to wash out the interior of the compressor unit, which he showed to me that had significant growth, most likely dampening the effectiveness of the unit this coming summer. Overall, I appreciated the courtesy, professionalism, and dedication to detail that this technician demonstrated. I will definitely call Michael & Sons if I need future service.

He called first (nice touch), arrived on time and was very courteous. Even put on booties over his own shoes! Tech was very friendlly, efficient and made sure everything was working. Explained as he went thru each function. Made suggestion, too. Of course, offered the extended maintenance agreement. Would seriously consider, but their yearly agreement was a combination of HVAC, electric and plumbing. There were no serarate agreements for just one of the services. Way out of line for our current budget. Pity!

I came home to find a GFCI outlet on the exterior of my home had caught fire during the day. I was concerned because of the residue and possible implications to the wire overall. I called Michael and Sons since they were the only ones open at 5:30 at night. They answered and were very polite on the initial call. The electrician that arrived during the scheduled time was extremly confident and very polite. He was very reassuring and did a great job. My only complaint with the company, not the technician, was the pricing. The wiring ended up being fine - the outlet needed to be replaced. 275 dollars seems a bit unreasonable for replacing an outlet. While I do appreciate their ability to come out that day - I would appreciate a fair price.

Had New heating and Cooling system installed at My Mother's Home. Servicemen arrived promptly and worked continually without a break. New Unit worked perfectly! Could be happier! I Highly recommend this Company!

They were very professional. I called them and they quickly got a technician here. They gave us a few different options to solve the problem on our budget. They got back with us and followed up with any concerns we had.

Great ...There were a few items Michael and Sons had to come back and correct, however, it was corrected quickly with no hassle.

Had whole house power outage on thursday late afternoon. Called Michael & Son as it was getting late & I wasn't sure if it was just my house or neighborhood problem. Spoke to a very nice man , Anthony, who suggested I call Dom. Va. Power. I did & power came on around 7:30PM. However, my bathrooms did not come on & the circuit breaker for them wouldn't trip on. In morning I called Michael & Son again & asked for Anthony(who had given me his extension). The person who answered would not put my call through to him. She insisted on taking the information herself. This would not be a problem but she did not listen to what I was saying, asked me questions I had already answered & seemed to think I had no idea what the problem was. I would have hung up but I trusted my inner voice to stay with it. She scheduled an appointment for sunday morning. Quran called before he came to see if I was ready for him to come. He was very personable & professional. He explained every thing he did and made suggestions that made sense without any pressure. I was extremely satisfied with his service & manner. One of my neighbors who had a fire at his house the night before, stopped over to see if Quaran would give him an estimate & hired him for his work. I would call them again & have shared my experience with friends. My neighbor was also pleased with his work.

New Year's weekend, my hot water heater decided to retire itself. After thinking and trying to figure out who could service me without my having to take time off of work to be home, I submitted a online request via Michael and Son's website and got a call back less than a minute later. Due to the holiday, they were not able to come to my house until 1/2. However, when that day came, the plumber came on time, evaluated my current system and gave me the option of replacing parts versus installing a new heater and he had a new unit in the truck ready to go. Since it was more cost effective in the long run to get the heater replaced, I did that and said goodbye to cold showers two hours later! I was so pleased with the plumber's timeliness and professionalism, that I will be using them in the future.

All of the different services were provided by 1 company. I really liked that. All of the service providers were courteous and professional. They gave a lot of attention to the details of the job they were doing and provided no pressure advice on how to make my home run more smoothly. They even followed up with post cards thanking us for the work. I believe this is a good company and I would use them again and reccomend them to friends.

We had lost power in part of the house. I called them one night and they scheduled us for the next morning. Someone had to take off work to be there for them at 9am. They called me the morning of to cancel and said it would be weeks before I could reschedule. They had apparently "booked to many jobs" for that day.

I happy with the system they installed. I like their ten year warranty. However, I had some problems with the inspection as it took three times to pass. Everyone that I dealt with was real professional. They were good contractors and they did better than most.

They did fine. The did a sales pitch for additional services I didn't need or what. They were polite and professional. However, I didn't appreciate the extra time that the sales pitch took.

It was fine. We had no problems whatsoever. He came at the time he said he was going to be there and explained what he was going to do and he did it. He knew what the problem was that we were having in the kitchen and he corrected it. There was additional work we had talked about being done, but when I contacted the office they said they didn't offer those type of services in my area.

They do a great job. They are respectful, prompt, thorough, and seem fair.
