Description of Work: Replaced entire fuse panel, updated service to newer codes, replaced several outlets and checked rest of house wiring. They were fast and took great pains to clean up and when one little problem showed up they responded immediately and fixed the problem at no cost.

Description of Work: They replaced the complete HVAC duct ventilation system to include the Guardian Air system. Their crew, Marcus, Randy and John were professional, courteous and had very helpful tips for us to implement when it comes to our HVAC system. Highly recommend these guys! No other company will touch our electrical, HVAC and plumbing except Michael & Son Norfolk Services company.

We declined the service.
Description of Work: We had what appeared to be a brownout problem around 5:30 p.m. When I shut down the circuits at the circuit board and then turned them on again, our dishwasher shorted. Since our usual electrician was already booked and unavailable that night, we called Michael & Son. The dispatcher told us that because of the time, it would have to be an emergency call. The problem was that the usual rate for a service call was $27 just for showing up, but because it was an emergency call, the service charge would be $279! Ten times the regular charge?! And if we didn't do it that night, the next available regular service call would be on Sunday, six days away! I'm sorry, but ten times the normal service charge is way beyond the fringe, I think. We declined the service. Our regular guy with Michael Bertolino made room for us the next morning and took care of things, determining that it was a Dominion Virginia Power problem, rather than in our home, and handled all the details with the power company. A+ for Bertolino; F for Michael & Son.

Description of Work: called on a sunday morning and was pleased that someone would come out to fix my problem .Had problems with a circuit breaker double feeding into same circuit.Also kept popping off and no power in acouple rooms but worst of all no power to tankless water heater and no hot water.They showed in a timely manner and electrician was informed of problem.He kept going in and out of house looking at breaker panel ,city meter which had surge protecter and looking at rooms with no power.Also looked at tankless system outside of house.After 30 minutes of this he said my surge protecter was no longer worked.He pulled up on his laptop that he carried that he had to trouble shoot at a level 3 which was very involved.He wanted to charge me 0ver 1,200$ to fix.I looked on line and saw alot of negative reviews while he stood there.Also a lot of complaints of overpriced bad work.I dismissed him and said i would have to call back.I called another electrician who i had experience with before but could not get a hold of earlier.He came over and fixed problem.Only cost me 50.00$

Description of Work: They installed a new furnace and air conditioning unit. The work has turned out great. I have loved every second that they have done. The other night it was 80 degrees and I was sweating. After turning on the AC, it cooled to 69 degrees within twenty minutes. The workers did such a good job with the installation and I just love the system.

They did not get the job.
Description of Work: I called Michael and son to get a price on replacing my gas water heater.The problem I had with them is that after looking at my water heater they want to put their service sticker (to call them for service) on my heater.They also wanted to replace my breaker box and even redo the water lines in my walls,but would not be responsable for any damage to the walls.ALL I WANTED WAS A PRICE ON A WATER HEATER.Once they get in your house they try to find work for all of their divisions.

Description of Work: Service man was polite and professional. Offered a maintenance package on A/C, heat, plumbing, etc. Comtemplating if going to buy package. only complaint is service man left the heat off and the fan on (instead of auto). When it got cold outside the next day, figured out why it was so cold in the house.

Description of Work: Professional appearance, came quickly to provide estimate, technician very friendly and knowledgeable. We were shocked at the prices, including ca. $750 to install our provided kitchen sink and faucet, $700 to install our vanity sink and faucet in bathroom, $350 to install our own toilet and $2200 to run gas line from our existing gas meter to the kitchen (ca 50 feet) for a gas cooktop. No fault of technician for the company's standard pricing, but we did find reputable companies who would do the same job for half or less. We are fairly certain they would have done a good job but based on pricing we are going with someone else.

Overall I was pleased.
Description of Work: I had a short in an electrical switch on the wall in my bedroom. The young man that came was courteous and professional. He knew immediately what to do, fixed the wiring that needed fixing, replaced the switch and plate and was gone in less than an hour. The initial charge was $29 to set the appointment, $149.00 for the service call plus a charge for parts. All in all about $200.00 which I thought was high, but the service was excellent. I will use them again.
