+ -1 moreThe person at Lowe's was great but the contracting company they sent out was horrendous. They did not have enough parts and installed the wrong sized gate. They were completely unprofessional and it was just an awful experience. They never communicated with me and just disappeared when they were done. Loews never gave me the name of the company and I regret going through them. It took 2 months to get the gate changed to the right size. I will not go through them again for projects like this.
Description of Work: They installed a vinyl privacy fence.

+ -1 moreWas extremely professional and unbelievably quick. Extremely clean and quiet. They were in and out with no issues whatsoever. I have used them several times before and I will again in the future. Excellent price for what you get. No one can beat it.
Description of Work: Installed carpet to match part of existing carpet in rooms, hallway and staircase. Was challenging to seam it with other rooms, but they did it!

The installer said they did not give him enough to fill out half pieces and it sort of pi**ed me off because now there are several spots on the boards that have been sawn off so now it is seen and not used. They don't order enough; they order so tight I don't get any overage. Otherwise I was very happy with the whole process.

+ -1 moreIt was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased for a gift card. It was flawless. It was great. It is my favorite Lowe's. It is convenient and they pretty much have everything that I want. I use them over another big box store because they give me my military discount because I am a disabled military veteran. The other big box store won't give me the discount because I am not active military. I've been using them for 5 years.
Description of Work: I used my gift card at Lowe's to buy a timer to water my lawn.

replacement windows
+ -1 moreI was reasonable pleased. There was one minor hiccup. I wanted casement windows and some of our windows were double. I wanted them to swing out anti-symmetrical way; the left one opening counter-clockwise and the right one opening clockwise. In their original order they had a few mixed up. They readily accepted that it was their mistake. There was no argument about it. It just took a while to have those last 2 or 3 windows replaced. It was a small job and that wasn't very high on priority list. The price was very good. To use them again in the future I would consider them seriously.

+ 0 moreThe job was done quickly and professionally but we did run into a problem. The paneling that was replaced buckled and we had to call the company again. They came the next day and replaced the paneling and used several different solutions to prevent the problem from occurring. It has been fine since tthe fix. They cleaned up after the job and I was very pleased with the results.
Description of Work: The vent had been blowing cool air behind a section of loose paneling and black mold had formed. It had to be removed and the wall treated, the vent was replaced and the paneling secured so that the air from the vent could not get behind it.

+ -1 moreThe instillation went very well! the lowes installer was on time and very profesional. The pervious door had water damage that hd spread to the frame and the installer went above and beyond to make sure that the damage was contained, fixed, and any futher damage would be prevented. The active door that was recieved from Pella had a manufacturer fault and the door was bowed. Although the door operates properly the Lowes installer made sure that Pella was contacted and set up the appointment to have Pella come out and see the damage and order a replacement. So far the overall experience has been great.
Description of Work: Purchased a Pella Patio Door from Lowes and had them install it.

+ 0 moreThe installation was done promptly once the windows arrived. The job took 1 1/2 days to complete. The windows looked lovely and were well-caulked. The door installation was excellent. I have already seen the differebce in my heating bill. The trim looks great and I'm looking forward to not painting window trim this year.
Description of Work: I bought the Pella Therastar windows(8), a Pella storm door with etched glass & had the window frames wrapped with aluminum for this price. Most of my window sizes needed to be ordered (took about 2 weeks to arrive).

+ -1 moreVery poorly, I do not like dealing with employees who do not take pride in their work or the place they work for. It shouldn't be all about the paycheck.
Description of Work: called to set up an in home estimate. What they called a "DETAIL". When I asked if there was a service charge I was told yes. I said that I would not pay for such as no one else charged for like services. I received a bunch of double talk about this deal and that deal but that the policy was set by corporate and it was not their responsibility. I'll deal with a small company who makes it their responsibility.

Description of Work: I originally purchased a special order light from them April of this year. The light went on back order. I dealt with Tommy in the lighting department. He was very diligent about getting me updates every 2 – 4 weeks on the arrival of my light. He kept me informed as to the progress of my light finally arriving. It took about 8 months. I was very excited to get the call this past weekend that my light had arrived and I could pick it up, and meet Tommy.

+ -1 moreThe installers did a very good job. They did not return any of my calls after setting the installation date, even though I left them several messages concerning materials. The work took about three hours total for three door installations. Once the handle issue was solved, the doors closed perfectly. I also had to provide a superior grade of caulk for the project. The wait from the time I had the subcontractors perform a site review until the time of the installation took about six weeks.
Description of Work: Our house did not have storm doors, so the Lowe's subcontractor installed three storms doors on our house. Two of these doors had keyed entry, and one door was latch only. My major concern was the potential for the interior storm door handles to bang into the key-less entry deadbolts on the main house doors. James Luxford, the millwork salesman at Lowe's first told me that the subcontractor would measure the door to make sure the storm door handle fit properly, and then he later told me that the storm door handle would fit between the deadbolt and the entry latch on the main door. Well, in both cases, front and back storm door, the storm door handle would not fit at a ninety degree angle to the main door key-less entry dead bolt. With the original installation, I could not completely close the storm door. Fortunately, I showed the subcontractor how the storm door handle could be remounted horizontally so it was parallel to the door frame. With the exterior deadbolt handle set horizontally as well, the storm door handle does not touch the dead bolt. I can open and close the storm door without a problem, but the horizontal mounting of the handle looks goofy. I did bring this to James' attention and he will try and find a lower profile storm door handle.

I was able to purchase a dishwasher and extended warranty on line, and they were able to take care of everything else from there. I have on occasion encountered problems with other business when I try to purchase something for my rental property if I am not physically present.
Description of Work: Purchased a dishwasher and an extended warranty. Whirlpool 24-Inch Built-In Dishwasher (Color: White on White) ENERGY STAR Item #: 28474, Model #: DU1145XTPQ, $358.20 1 4-Year Extended Protection Plan, $84.97. This model was recommended by Consumer Reports and the extended warranty starts after the 1 year manufacturers warranty. It also covers power surges, which almost no other warranty covers. This was purchased to replace a GE GLD4600NWW White - GE Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher that was purchased directly from GE. It lasted only 14 months before the motor burned up. Needless to say, the GE model was a real disappointment.

+ -1 moreWe went down there and ordered the windows and spoke with the man at Lowe's. It took a long time for them to get here, about two months. When they got here they immediately tore out all of the windows before they put any in. When they started putting the windows in we found out they were the wrong color. They didn't seem to know what to do. They told me that I could paint them; I informed them that I purchased vinyl windows so I didn't have to paint them. Finally after three days they wrapped the windows in aluminum so that it would change the color. After they were done, I told them to immediately leave.
Description of Work: They replaced the windows in the front of the house. This was for a two story home; however they only replaced the windows on the first floor. They replaced a total six windows. They did this work about three years ago.

The installation work is very well done. The door unit quality seems to be exceptional with extremely smooth glide action of the main door and the screen doors.

A Lowes' associate went with me, gave suggestions and helped me pick out what I needed. It was a very pleasant in store experience. They are the best. They are fantastic and have great attitudes. They give you all types of advice too. They gave me a discount on the Pella door because I am a senior citizen. When they installed my door, something was missing and they were super fast in getting me the part that was needed for it. When they say that they will be at your house on time they will.

We were happy with the glazing and how the cabinet looked when it was installed. They were a little slow about getting back to me to schedule the installation.
