I was real pleased with his work. He replaced the roof on the top of house but I have an addition to my house and that addition needs roof work. But before I get the roof done I had to get a French door to be put on which I had from an Angie’s List contractor. So I have now got the door on and I have to get in touch with Jayhawk to repair the roof which is in addition to my house. I would rate him high on everything as it was done in one day, it was clean by the time I got home from work and they also did some extras. So I was real pleased with Jayhawk. I have to rate him real high because Jayhawk replaced my roof in one day for $5000 and he provided all materials. I had a price from somebody that was supposed to be my friend who was going to do it for $5000 but I had to provide the materials and he was going to take a week. So the work that I had done by Jayhawk was a better price and didn’t linger around. It was done when I got home, so that pleased me a lot because it was done when I wasn’t even there. I had been on the roof and I looked at it and it looks real good. They were there when they said they were going to be here and they did in the time they said they were going to do it. It was skeptical but it was done as they said it would be done.

Arnie, the estimator and also the work site supervisor, was very straightforward and kept me apprised of progress at all times. They were punctual!!! I was truly impressed with the work ethic of the 4 person crew led by Arnie. It was a pleasure watching the cohesiveness of the team. No time wasted. Project was 99% completed on the first day before sunset. They came by the next day to ensure the job was properly completed. I was so impressed that I'm having this company also do the trimming of my house.

They did a nice job. I had a small section that had to be replaced as an insurance claim and then I boosted it up to have the rest done. They were very prompt, they did as advertised, they were cooperative, they were flexible, and they did a nice job. They cleaned up and I think I got my money's worth.

It was a hard choice. I didn’t choose them, but they were very professional, competent and I almost chose them, actually at the lowest price. I will contact them in future.

Quick response, fair estimate and lighting quick at completing the job. Did a great job cleaning up and were great to work with.

I have a house from 2002 that started to leak in multiple place on the second floor after a hurricane. I called out Jayhawk for an estimate and they scheduled a time to come by two days later. They identified and fixed the problem of cracked stove pipe collars within half a day. That is including the time for them to inspect, go get the materials, and fit me into their schedule that day. They were very professional and answered all of my questions. I wish I had more for them to do because I know it will be done right.

It was a very good service. They did the work quickly and well. FOLLOW UP-9 Months later... Jayhawk spent a full day completely replacing my roof, flashings, skylights, and just about everything that goes on top of the house. Following the disaster that was my previous roof and the numerous leaks, there was severe damage to the roof and I was expecting possible issues. However, after the roof was completed, Arnie returned to my house for a follow-up look at the roof and assured me that not only was the job complete and correct, but he gave me a guarantee that I would have no problems with the roof. Well, its 9 months later and I have seen my fair share of heavy storms and rains that would test the roof. I am glad to say that the guarantee is still good, as I have had absolutely no issues with the roof, either inside or outside of my home. The quality of work and the expeditious manner with which it was completed are commendable, and I would gladly recommend this company to anyone needing similar or other work done around their house.

I joined Angies list right after I refinanced my home because I needed some repairs done. Before I could get anything arranged I had a run in with that weird storm in May. I have 1/2 an acre in Va Beach that HAD in excess of 10 HUGE trees--they came down/split and exploded--Now I had another problem-so I put off the roof repairs and changed it to roof and gutter replacement. Jayhawk came in and provided a wonderful architectural roof and gutters in 3 days. I would definitely use them again.

After they initially fixed it we had some rain and it was still leaking. We called and left several messages. After allowing at least a week with no return call, I contacted the office and spoke to the receptionist and told her who I needed to speak with. We finally got a hold of the initial worker who came out and dealt with another delay due to rainy weather- which I understood completely. We had to wait for it to dry up and he said he was going to call back. Weeks went on and still we had to initiate contact to make up for the lack of communication on their end. We didn't need to be home during the repair, but it just so happened that when I was leaving one day we crossed paths. Since no one was home that day, we are still unsure of exactly what was done or what had been fixed. I would have liked to have known what was done or some sort of communication informing me of the situation and what we were to expect. I felt like we had to do all of the initiating instead of them doing the follow up to make sure we were taken care of. Other than that, the first time they came out was on a Sunday and then Monday was a Holiday when they came back out to finish up (because we had to buy the attic fan for them to install it), which was very impressive. This is why I gave them high ratings when I first graded them and included that I will follow up because at that time we didn't know if it had leaked or not. I would use them again but I think they need to work on better communication skills for a follow up.

We decided to get vinyl trim wrap because we didn't want to go through the cost and hassle of painting trim every few years. We were approached by another, more aggressively advertised company in the area. Wet were turned off by the high-pressure sales tactics and price and decided to seek another quote. We contacted JayHawk for a quote after reading their favorable reviews on Angie's List.. Mr. Higgins (a.k.a. "Country") inspected the property and gave us a quote. I was initially impressed by several things. We were not required to have both husband and wife present (something the other company insisted on), which was very helpful for us given my spouse's schedule. Since he was a project supervisor, not just a sales rep, Mr. Higgins was able to speak authoritatively about the scope of the work to be done. I also liked knowing that I was meeting the person who would actually be supervising the job. His presentation was straight-forward. He demonstrated the product, shared pictures of examples, and showed evidence the company was insured and properly licensed. He provided a time-frame and a price quote. He answered all my questions. Then he left me to talk it over with my husband and get back to him. No hard sell, no games. His price quote was less than half what the other company's rep started at. Once we signed the contract, work was quickly scheduled and completed. Mr. Higgins introduced the crew supervisor, Eddie, on the first day and checked in periodically to inspect progress. The team took about 3 days to complete the job with only one day missed when it rained. The crew was polite and professional. They arrived early each day and worked steadily til dinner-time with a reasonable lunch break. Each day they tidied up the yard. On the last day, there was a large pile of debris in the yard, but it was completely removed the next morning. Mr. Higgins closed out the job with a final inspection. We do find an occasional word chip behind the bushes, but overall they were very neat and respectful of my landscaping, even with all the ladders that had to be right up against the foundation plantings. The quality of the work appears to be excellent. I would definitely hire this company again.

Jayhawk was excellent. They were willing to remove what remained of my copper gutters, and take the copper material to a scrap yard to sell. The profit made at the junk yard was applied as a credit toward my final bill. I give them great credit for this, because not many companies would have been willing to above and beyond like they did. I think they’re honest, accommodating, and professional. Also, they were incredibly responsive.

It was okay. I had no complaints in dealing with them. Their estimate was extremely low. They left some samples of roofing material.

They did a great job! I was incredibly happy. They cleaned up very well. The crew was great and very personable.

We didn't use them but I was extremely impressed with them. They returned my calls promptly and came when they said they would come. They gave me lots of communications back and forth on where they were at in the process of conducting their estimate for me. They were polite and professional. I was pretty impressed with those guys. Their price was definitely reasonable and seemed to be in line with the best quotes that I had gotten. They provided me with a detailed estimate and separated the labor from the material cost. I would refer other people to them and I would get another estimate from them.

The estimate,the work was worthy of future consideration as needed. I will tell my friends about them as well,

I placed a phone call on Saturday and promptly received a return call from Larry Goff. He came out the next day, Sunday no less, and spent a lot of time assessing our needs and answering all our questions, with no sales pitch or pressure. After agreeing on the estimate, which seemed reasonable, he scheduled our repairs for the very next day, which was Monday, Labor Day. He arrived on time and completed all repairs. At present we are most pleased with the quality of workmanship, but the true test will come when we have the next rainstorm, as two repairs were for leaks. This is why I can't give an honest grade yet until the repairs are "put to test," so this is why I put N/A for Quality. I will update later if the repaired areas no longer leak. Overall, we had a good experience with Jayhawk Exteriors and especially with Larry Goff. Would highly recommend this company.

Country had come out and given me a price for windows and roof replacement in mid June when I was purchasing a new home. I had other quotes and called Country back to get a comparison done. We went over the window models and I chose a window in higher quality than originally quoted. I was still way under in price in comparison to a quote received by another company. My windows came in a week early and were installed after the painters had completed. Barely any touch up work was needed after the installation. The one gentleman who did the install by himself did a wonderful job. He went out of his way to be sure the exterior finish of the windows looked good and it did. I could not have been happier with the job!! Country followed up to be sure I was satisfied. Would definitely recommend them!

Arrived within 2 hours of call, gave the estimate, and immediately performed the repairs. Very satisfied.

They very professional and did an awesome job. I dealt with one main person and he helped me all the way through and answered all my questions.

They did an excellent job. My neighboard see our gutter and want to ask him to install for her house too. His price is reasonable too.

Overall I'm very pleased with Jayhawk Exteriors and the GAF product that they installed. "Country" Mike Higgins provided the estimate and explained the work order and GAF product and warranty in great detail. He was always available for questions and promptly called when they had to slip the installation one day due to the shingles not being in stock. The crew arrived ontime at 7:00 and worked the entire day until the job was done. Their price was competitive with the other bid I received but I felt much more comfortable in hiring Jayhawk and was confident they would deliver after meeting with Country Mike. I also had an incident that they promptly resolved. The a/c lines going to the air handler above the garage ran very close to the roofing sheathing (bad installation job on part of the a/c company). As luck would have it, a roofing nail penetrated the lines. This was discovered the next day when the a/c compressor kept shutting off. The a/c company repair charge was $910 and when I called Country, he said to send the bill to Jayhawk and they would take care of it, which they did and had a check in the mail the same day that they received the bill. A roof is a major investment so I took my time and did research on numerous companies. Jayhawk Exteriors proved to be the right choice.

Work was excellent, on time and reasonable.

I met with Mike "Country" Higgins for an estimate. He was professional, friendly,and very knowledgeable about the job and what would need to be done. I can't say enough about him as a person. He is a wonderful asset to the company and provided great customer service. My issue with this company is that their estimate came in about $2,200 more than the company we went with. Keep in mind, the company that we used wasn't our lowest bid. The company that we used was GAF certified and used the exact same materials that Jayhawk Exteriors would have used. As stated in another review the only difference was the length of the warranty. (10 years vs. 50 years) They are very qualified and I'm sure they do a great job but the big difference in price was disappointing. I would use them in the future only if their prices were more competitive.

I just receive and compared thier bid to others and in my specifc case I went with Bevins Roofing.

Their quote was competitive, they were on time, provisional and the job was done in a single day. No money was paid until the job was done and we were satisfied. Highly recommended! On a side note; we had a storm come though a couple of days after the installation (with high winds) the roof was solid. Our neighbor confirmed no flapping shingles.
