Don't waste your time calling anybody else! This company and their workers are some of the most professional contractors I have ever worked with. Showed up on time and got right to work. They were very organized. The building is somewhat difficult to access with large delivery trucks but the drivers with the companies they had deliver the supplies aced it! Owner of company was here off and on thru out the day checking on the progress. Cleanup of debris was of utmost importance to us and they were VERY through with that aspect of the job. I had intended to contact three companies but hired Jayhawk after the initial interaction with them...seems like sometimes you can just tell that somebody is representing themselves well ;-) Roof looks awesome!!

I can't say enough good things about this company. I had originally gotten two other estimates for the work I needed to perform and they were all too high, and left a lot of interpretation on the cost of replacing the rotted wood on my home. Also I had 4 windows replaced by Sears on my home, and the install was botched, so they had to put an ugly white molding around, to cover the gap between the window and siding. When Mike "Country" Higgins came out he was very professional and nice. He informed me on all the services that Jayhawk offered and also brought pictures from previous jobs, so I could get an understanding on how the finished product on my home would look. He wasn't pushy and didn't pressure me to sign anything on the spot, which I 100% appreciated. We agreed on a price and a start date, however a weeks worth of rain, moved my start date over another week. When they did start Country came back out and ensured his guys knew exactly what i required and also the rules of my HOA. Country's crew did a phenomenal job and they ensured all trash was removed from my property. The finished product was amazing, especially where they were able to remove the ugly window molding that was put on by a previous contractor. The whole job went smooth and he had the exterior of my home, back to normal within two days, much to my HOA's amusement. From start to finish Country kept me informed and ensured everything that we agreed upon was accomplished. I would have no problem recommending JayHawk to my friends and family.

I had called Jayhawk for a quote on replacing my roof. This was the first company I called. Arnie came out and visited. He brought lots of materials and information on the company. He was very nice, and informative. He was also responsive to a few calls I made as I was still making decisions about which company I would go with. I ended up not selecting this company, but they were close in price to the company I ended up selecting. I did seriously consider this group and Jayhawk had a reasonable price quote covering all the materials do do the job.

I recently had 3 leaks pop up in my roof over the past month. The roof itself is 25 years old, so I would say it lasted longer than it should have. I had 7 different companies come out and give me estimates. They ranged from $6K up to 12K. Initially, when I called Jayhawk, I was told I would receive a call from an estimator later that day. I did not receive a call. I called back the next day and spoke to the woman in the office, she said she was sorry nobody got back to me and told me I would be contacted that day. Arnie called me and we set up an estimate for a Friday. Mid Friday morning, Arnie called me to let me know that he was working a couple of jobs and would not be able to make for the scheduled time. He initially wanted to come out the following Monday. I told him I was trying to make my decision by that day and he scheduled to come out on Sunday instead. The estimate was a very pleasant expierence. I had other companies just come out and take measurements, guess measurements, had me the estimate and leave without answering my questions. Some companies even went as far as bad mouthing other companies. One even told me to rip off some shingles so I can get my insurance company to help foot the bill. Well, I had a ton of questions and Arnie stayed about 30 minutes after he measured just answering questions. His estimate was reasonable, but I let him know what my bottom line was and he was more than happy to meet me there (he was not far off from it). He initially told me it would be 3-4 weeks to get the roof put on. I told him that I had some active leaks and if there any way it could be done sooner, I would appreciate it, this was on a Sunday. I talked to him the following Tuesday and he said that they would be out the following week sometime. Good deal, waiting a week and a half beats 3-4 weeks. He ten called me again on Wednesday and said that they would be out on Saturday! 6 days from accepting the contract to completion, I am very happy.

Very punctual, very polite and listened well to our concerns. The original gutters and downspouts put in place by the builder were too small and too few for the pitch and total surface area of the roof. Arnie immediately identified problem areas and was very thorough explaining how to resolve our overflow situation. The team showed up on the day promised, they were tidy and did a nice job. We're pleased with the changes and with the quality of the work.

The overall experience was good and would recommend this company to others.

Larry and norm came over on a Saturday morning and right away found out I was missing an entire shingle from the very top of the roof. Larry went to his van and pulled out a complete shingle and went up on the roof and fixed it right away and didn't charge a dime. I can't say enough about the great service I have been given in the last 4 months with this company. I will continue to use Jayhawk for all my roofing needs in the future. Larry and Norm are the best in the business!

I did some research on the internet on companies and cost. Also, did some pricing as a do it yourself job. Went to Angie's List and did some research. Found JayHawk Enterprises and read their reviews. Thought was too good to be true. My intention was to look at two companies the 1st being JayHawk, but I happen to mention to my co-worker that I needed a new roof. She said she had just done a complete face lift to her home to include all the things I needed to have done and that I should call JayHawk and talk with Arnie. She went on to say they did a great job across the board. I found this was probably meant to be since JayHawk was one of the companies I was looking at getting a proposal. Being that I had done my research, I already had a price in mind for just the roof. I emailed JayHawk since it was a Sunday and Arnie called on Monday. Arnie came out on Tuesday to do proposal and I was floored. The cost for all that I wanted done, less the boards on roof that had to be replaced, came in far less than just the roof cost that I researched. Had I not gotten a great report from my friend, I would have been alarmed. Long story short, ask them to do the job and it was done a week later all in one day. The crew and Arnie showed up 6:45 am and finsihed the complete job by 3:00. They even did the finishing touches in the rain. I cant say enough. They did a wonderful job start to finish and Arnie and his crew where very professional. JayHawk is for sure your go to company for any and all exterior home improvements.

Jayhawk was one of three companies I called for an estimate to install new guttering. Arnie came by and provided the best quote. One of the other contractors had quoted almost 1K more for the same job and materials so it was good to get a fair quote. Jason and crew were assigned the job and they did a great job. There was one section where the choice was between aesthetics (straight as possible to look good) or a slope that would guaruntee drainage but not look good. I decided to ask for only a slight angle but when the rain came a week later the water wasn't fully draining from the far end. One of the reasons I'm grading this review as an A is that when I called about adjusting the section so it had a better slope for drainage Jason was right back out and adjusted it with no worries. Good all round job from start to finish. Highly recommend.

This work was originally done 3/2012, however the roof leaked again after several storms. Larry came back several times to try to identify the source of the leak. In January 2013, some of the damaged kitchen ceiling was removed by a drywall expert which allowed Larry to see where the water was coming in from the roof. We had problems with the leak in the past and Larry spent the time and effort to finally find the leak and fix it. It was a process but finally we have a dry ceiling! He did not charge us for coming back to troubleshoot and repair the leak.

Contacted Jayhawk Exteriors and Arnie came to the house to give an estimate. We have a third floor deck with a membrane underneath that acts as a waterproof roof for the second floor deck. The membrane appeared to be leaking, it is ten years old. We accepted the proposal to replace the membrane. It was a two day job. Jayhawk personnel arrived on time and completed the work on schedule. All debris from the removal of the old membrane was removed each day. The personnel doing the work were very professional. Arnie supervised all the work. We had a heavy rain with wind blowing the day following the completion of the project and there was no leak. We are very pleased with the work and would use Jayhawk again. A very good experience

I can't say enough about how happy we are with the outcome of a much needed major restoration project. After coming to the realization that our house had serious moisture problems due to EFIS cladding and a lack of original proper construction techniques we started to investigate our options. I spent a lot of time researching and getting price quotes to determine exactly what was the best path to pursue in what had truly become a nightmare. After several estimates I decided to research some of the companies to get a better feel for their history with the BBB and Angie's list. While on Angie's list I came across Jayhawk Exteriors with an outstanding rating and decided to give them a call. Right from the start, Mike "Country" Higgins showed a genuine concern and enthusiasm for the project and offered several great ideas that took the project from one of simply fixing what was wrong to actually improving the overall cosmetic appearance and guaranteeing a product that would last for years. The project involved the removal of the entire exterior cladding, repairing damaged substructure, replacing plywood sheathing, wrapping the entire house, flashing all windows and doors, installing siding and stone masonry, and a deck facelift. Throughout the extensive rework " Country" was always readily available and took hands on responsibility through the conclusion of the job.

My experience with them was incredible. They were excellent. They kind of went above and beyond and it was just a lot of little things that they did for me. They fabricated a cover for my air conditioning lines that fit into the siding and before it had something that looked like a downspout now it just looks like molding. They had to take down all of the exterior lighting and redid it and rewired it. Before it had like conduit up to the lighting fixtures and they hid all the wires behind the siding so it's all nice and clean. They just did an exceptional job. They actually went out and raked the yard and cleaned up a lot more than the mess they made. One day it rained and I didn't expect anybody to show up and I heard noise outside and looked out and they were working in the rain. The siding that I ordered was no longer in inventory and they gave me a better and thicker siding for the same price. They were actually a little higher than a couple of other places that I went to, but I had talked to some people and looked them up and everybody was saying that they were so much better so I went with them. They were here when they said and stayed later then they were supposed to.

1/24 - I called them and left them a voice mail asking if they could give me a call to schedule an estimate because I had a leak in my garage that I've had for while. 1/25 - I received a prompt call back the next day to schedule at which time they told me that Larry would be calling back to schedule the appointment. I received a call from Larry within a couple of hours and he left me a voice mail. I had my husband call him back that day and schedule the appointment, which was scheduled for Monday 1/28 at 3:30, my husband left work early coming from Portsmouth and arrived at the house about 3:10 plenty enough time if Larry showed up early, well at 3:52 I get a text from my husband say that Larry still hadn't shown up. I call Larry and he tells me that because of the wheather he fell behind and if I had seen the new that this house was on fire near by,which happens to be a friend of his, and I said did you think to call to reschedule. I then call the main office and the lady that answered is unaware of the situation and tell me that she would call me back the next day to reschedule, 1/29- well once again I never got a call so I decided to call back. She proceed to tell me that she spoke to Larry (1/28) and he said he agree to come out at 3:00 the next day (1/29) and that I said that I needed to check with my husband and would get back to him, so she assumed all was well. First why would I again be inconvienenced having my husband or myself take time off work again which is money out of our pocket, ofcourse after I called the office Larry leaves me a voice mail saying that he would not be able to come out today, don't want to inconvienence him, but the company has no problem inconvienencing us. I will obtain my estimates elsewhere as well as my business. I may have missed out on a good company but first impression say a lot and if you can't keep scheduled appointment or at least have the courtesy to call and reschedule then I'm not quite sure if I hire you to do a job that I wouldn't get the same type of treatment. The gentleman who came was thorough and polite with the estimate. No actual work was done. Proposed service estimate is expensive for the work that needs to be done on the roof. Will be getting additional estimates before committing to hiring for service.

Quick response on call back (Larry Goff). Very courteous and on time . Work was thorough and Larry spent time telling me of all the repairs that were needed giving me options to consider. He and his co-worker did a wonderful, complete and professional job with a great attitude . Praise God the roof doesn't leak anymore (lots of rain tested this out lately). Will call on Jayhawk and Larry in the future with any jobs needed .

Jayhawk Exteriors had a high rating in Angie's list. It is easy to see why. They conducted business the way I would hope every company would. Professional, courteous, conscientious, very knowledgable, and very skilled. They did a thorough inspection (took pictures of the problem areas), explained in detail the problems and provided multiple solutions. And one other thing that impressed and pleased me; there was no pressure to pick them for the job. They were very prompt in showing up to do the work and did an excellent job. They were also very conscientious in cleaning up after the job. I would , and will, strongly recommend them to others.

Very competitive price for good work. The gutter work went extremely well. The second (the roof) had a couple issues but were taken care of. Some additional issues came up which were legitimate but I felt it should have been spotted initially and he was a little tough to reach at times. Still at the end we paid a fair price. Not good with texting. Would definitely recommend nonetheless.

estimate was set up within days of request and estimater was very professional. The quote was delivered and explained within one week of estimate appointment, again very professional. The pricing was comparable to other quotes received and Jayhawk exceeded the other companies in qualifications and certifications. The only reason we did not go with this company is because one of the others offered an additional military discount. Otherwise, we would have been more than happy to go with Jayhawk.

I was out of town on Saturday when Larry and crew came back and did the work before the hurricane hit. he trusted me with getting him the payment. he said he was very busy just trying to make sure that everyone that needed his help had it. it took about 10 days for larry to come back (a lot of homes needed work after the storm) to get the payment. what other company would do the work and not be worried about the payment for 10 days??? Heck most companies want the money before they do one minute of work. i am glad this other company that i had called 2 weeks before calling Jawhawk stood me up. i will be using this company the rest of the time i live in virginia beach. with customer service this good you can't go wrong!

The estimate went smoothely. The work was done right away. The men installing worked really hard and were very professional. It took two days from start to finish, The roof looks fantastic.

The work is/was just fine. The roof was finished quickly and they did a fine job. There were two follow up problems. First they broke an outdoor faucet. Accidents happen. This was not a problem. The problem was that it was months before that repair was completed. The other problem is that there many roofing nails left in the yard for me and my animals to step on. The roof itself is fabulous and the well done.
