Jose and his crew showed up on time the date the work was scheduled, had everything they needed on site with them, and took all the excess materials and debris with them upon completion. We selected Jayhawk after receiving estimates from three different companies. A major factor in Jayhawk's favor was that the estimator was also the project manager. This is a tall, two-story home, and the work was done in bitterly cold conditions. The work team, led by Mike "Country" Higgins, was completely professional. They were industrious, thorough and cheerful. We couldn't have asked for better. Overall, we were delighted with the outcome and we strongly endorse Jayhawk.

I had searched and received bids from multiple roofing companies and just didn't have a good comfort level before joining Angie's list. I found Jayhawk on Angie's List and asked them to make a bid. Their pricing was very competitive and I was impressed with their attention to detail and knowledge. They cleaned up after work each day and moved pots back when they were done. They stayed on the job until it was completed in just three days and worked long days to get it done. Everything was done per the contract and I will use them again.

Arnie, the owner, was right on time to meet with us. He was patient and professional as he explained our options. The roofing was scheduled within a week, and the job was completed in one day. Our neighbors commented on how quick and clean the roofers were. The quote for the job was the lowest, but we could not have had better results.

I called several contractors. Some didn't show up and the others were way more expensive. Jayhawk Exteriors was prompt, professional and did excellent work. I only wish I had hired them when I had my roof replaced and my windows and siding done. I have already recommended them to a coworker and will gladly do so again.

Friendly, professional. Window was perfect and do was the service. Gentleman that installed the window was on time, great to chat with and did perfect work.

I can not say enough good things about our dealings with Jayhawk Exteriors. The windows are awesome, the work was excellent, and the workers were very professional and courteous. We got a great deal and a fabulous product. From our initial contact with them a few years ago we have used them repeatedly because we have always been completely satisfied with the services we have received. They fixed our roof in the middle of a storm, we then had them replace the roof, they fixed both of our skylights, and they have replaced every window in the house and the attic fan. I have also had them work on my mother's house. We were 100% satisfied with every job they did for us! Do not hesitate to use them for any services they provide. You can not go wrong with Jayhawk Exteriors!

Roofer was timely in responding to my request and in setting date and assessing and completing the repair. Also assessed the condition of roof and gave estimate of remaining life of the roofing. All work was completed on outside of house with all debris removed from the premises. Knowledge of roofing and all questions I asked about adding light through roof were answered with candor, even though the response means I will delay adding a skylight until the roof is replaced. I appreciated the honesty about the cons of adding a skylight to an aging roof. I will call on this company when the time to replace my roof arrives.

Removed and replaced shingled roof with GAF Silver Quality System. Replaced gutters with seamless. Replaced trim wood with vinyl.

They were to repair a section of roof. The date of service moved a couple of times. That was okay, but it became difficult to communicate with them to pin things down. On the morning of the service they called to say that they might not be able to come because their vehicle broke down. We stated that we could not tolerate any further delays and if they were unable to handle the job at this time that we would seek another contractor. They wound up coming out. Though not written in the contract, they said that we had a couple of soft plywood sections in the roof that they would address as needed, and that we would have to pay for the cost of materials. When they came to do the job, none of these soft spots were addressed. They just covered over them. I called for an explanation, but as of this writing my call is unanswered.

Arrived on time, and completed the tasks in one day. Covered everything around the house against damage and cleaned up very well when the task was completed. There had been a leak in the roof, and the cause of that leak was identified and corrected. I was invited to the roof to see what the cause was.

Because of rain Larry was 1 day late. Waiting for heavy rain to insure leak was sealed.

We are very pleased with the results. Our project manager, "Country", was very patient with us as we discussed & determined what exactly we wanted in texture & colors. I was very happy with the variety of choices offered --- we interviewed 3 other contractors, and Jayhawk was the only one that had EXACTLY what we wanted. The crew that came to the house and did the installations were courteous and hard-working. This job came in at higher than anticipated, due to an oversight in the initial estimate, so price-wise, the total cost of the job was comparable to the other bids we received. We are glad, however that we went with Jayhawk because overall, it was a good experience, and we would recommend them highly. Country is a great guy, and we felt very comfortable with him.

I chose this contractor because of the Outstanding Ratings they had on Angie's List and the fact they were a Superior Service Award Winner for 2008-2011. The job started by them not showing up on the agreed upon date even though it had been scheduled 5 weeks in advance. I called them at 9:30 on the scheduled start day and the estimator told me he just got back from vacation and had not set things up to begin. When I signed the contract he told me he was going on vacation just before the start date and he would make sure everything was in place, that didn't happen and the job started 4 days later. Day One: When the workers removed the old rubber roof they found the sub-sheathing was in bad shape and needed to be replaced. I agreed and knew that this part of the job would be above the scope and cost of the contract. I also told them to add additional roof rafters because the existing ones were not spaced properly nor aligned for the correct roof slope. While the estimator went for the additional materials the workers removed the old roof sheathing. By the time they were done removing everything - the additional meterials had arrived and work continued on installing the new roof rafters, strengthing and boxing in the new Fence Posts, and install the new sheathing. All this was accomplished by the end of the first day and everything was ready for the new roof to be installed the 2nd day. Day Two: Half Inch Recovery Board was installed over the roof sheathing to form a smooth base for the new roof. Next the new white TPO Roof Membrane was cut and glued down, and the seams in the membrane were heated and sealed. New drip edges were installed and the gutters reattached and sloped correctly. The door to the porch was reinstalled and new flashing was also installed. Day Three: The siding that was removed for the new roof was reinstalled, along with the J Channel. All seams around the door, flashing, and J channel were caulked. Problems: 1) New J Channel was supposed to be installed where the siding meets the doorframe. The first bundle the estimator brought was too large for the siding to fit properly, the 2nd bundle that was brought was too small for the siding. So the old J channel was piecemealed reinstalled with none of the old caulk or accumulated dirt and grim from 20 years removed from it. 2) The siding that had been removed and reinstalled was covered with dirty hand prints from the workers. None of them were cleaned off before they left the job. 3) Leftover material and a large bag of trash laid in my front yard for 10 days waiting for the estimator to come back to inspect the job and deliver the bill. 4) On the last day of the job I picked up cigarette butts in my beds, lawn and driveway. 5) Additional Charges: My contract stated deteriorated/damaged sheathing would be replaced at a cost of $75 per sheet (6 sheets were used or $450). My final bill was $1300 higher which covered the sheathing (supposedly $450) and thirteen new rafters ($750 ???). I questioned the charges and labor rates and was told the original bill the estimator worked up was higher and $1300 ws correct! The estimator came out and cleaned up the hand prints, recaulked around the door, and scraped the calking. Because of the cost issue I don't plan on using them again. I do think most of the workmanship on the new roof was Very Good. August 2014 Update: It's been 10 months since the work was performed and I had W.T. Anderson who just replaced my roof and did some siding work for me repair the shoddy siding work Jayhawk did. W. T Anderson had no problem finding the correct siding and J Channel. They replaced the J Channel Jawhawk pieced together because they could never procure the correct channel - one was too small and one too large. W.T. Anderson took the pieced together siding off and insalled regular lengths of siding. I also discovered the Railing Posts they installed were mismeasured and installed at various lengths. Instead of ensuring a consistent 96 inches between posts, one was installed at 97 inches from the center post and on the other side 98 inches. This required me to purchase 10 feet sections of railing and cut off 23 inches on one section and 22 inches on the other. Because of their shoddy work I did not contac them this year when I replaced my roofs, soffets and gutters ($20,000 of work). W. T. Anderson are true professionals, don't waste your time with Arnie and Jawhawk.

Arnie first arrived to give me an estimate for the services the week prior to scheduling the gutter replacement. The estimate was a reasonable price for all services and the work was done professionally and on time. In fact the 2 men arrived a half an hour early for the job on Wednesday morning. The job was finished on time and all the old gutters and debiris were removed as promised from the property. Great job done, I love my new gutters & I would highly recommend using this company.

They called us back fast and gave us an estimate. They worked in the worst heat of summer and were done in half a day.

Fantastic! Larry and Wayne came out on a Friday. Quickly identified the issues that we had concerns about, took pictures of what they saw on the roof, and took the time to explain which repairs were needed and which were not. The estimate was very reasonable and significantly less than another company's estimate. They were also able to squeeze us in on the following Monday. Great customer service. Great experience overall. Highly recommend!

Great. They came and gave an estimate for seamless Aluminum gutters that was fair and reasonable. We hired them and a a few days later they were ready to install our new gutters. They came with a machine and manufactured the gutters on site. The new gutters look beautiful and were an upgrade over the ones we had (wider, which allows more rain water to flow through the system then over the side). They removed all debris including the old plastic gutters. I would recommend them.

Although Jayhawk does not perform these types of repairs, they suggested another reputable provider to do the work.

He was very very prompt. The foreman was very good, explained everything from start to finish. He was on time, to the minute. They did a good job.

Jayhawk had an estimator come by, did some measurements, and provided a quote for the work on the spot. As part of the process we discussed materials, aspects of the work that would be performed, warranties, and options. They arrived promptly and were professional in the process. Overall I thought Jayhawk believe be a good company for the job but ultimately selected another firm who had also done a neighbor's house the previous year. I asked Jayhawk to provide a quote because of the positive reviews I found on Angie's List (which I joined just prior to starting my search for a roofing contractor). Much better than looking in the yellow pages and throwing a dart. Jayhawk shared some helpful info about roofing, and I felt assured they knew how to do the job right, would use quality materials, offer a good warranty, and all at a fair price ( I had an earlier quote for better than twice their estimate using the same materials and warranty). One thing I appreciated was that they provided an estimate while I alone was there -- and even offered to leave it on the door if I wasn't. But since I wanted to discuss options, I was there. I mention this because I've experienced some companies that won't give an estimate unless you and your wife are BOTH there. I really don't understand that one!
