Was very satisfied when we purchased our GE Front Load Washer and Dryer. Salesperson was very helpful and pleasant. We just picked up the machines and I love them, however, they are huge and way to big for my laundry room. I called the store to ask questions about any options we may have as far as return or exchange or exchanging the pedestals. Very unwilling to help and just stated nothing would be able to be returned after they were opened and set up in the house. Very frustrating to spend over 2,000 dollars with them. I guess they don't care what happens after they get your money!
Description of Work: Need a washing machine and dryer that will fit in our space.

They have been out 4 times in 9 months to repair freezer on a new refrigerator we got last dec, its broken AGAIN day after last repair, they REFUSE to replace with a new one and we have lost all our food 4 times, missed work and been without weeks before they suppodely fix. Now its thanksgiving, have a toddler and baby due in 3 days plus a death in family, no fridge/freezer or set date to send anybody out. Do not buy anything ftom east coast because they dont stand behind their stuff.
Description of Work: Freezer not working for the 4th time on new frigedare unit from east coast appliances.

Description of Work: Will never, EVER use them again. I bought a smooth-top range from EC Appliance. Got a reasonable price, though it took 2 weeks longer than it should have to come in. Also bought an extended warranty. When I needed to use the warranty 2 years later, I called EC, checked to make sure I was still under warranty. Tech came out, found issue, ordered part. Then EC called and said I owed $200 for parts and labor. Seems the warranty is handled through another company, but EC didn't tell me when appt for service was made. Then I was told that I owed for service call if I didn't have them repair the stove. So I sent an email to owner asking why the service dept didn't tell me upfront, and asking if that was a standard business practice. And received a very, VERY nasty email - from the owner! - saying that "I" was rude for accusing them of any skulduggery. So if you do buy, DON'T get their warranty, and DON'T have them service it.

I purchased a new Samsung Washer/Dryer set. The sales team in Chesapeake was very helpful and great to work with. The delivery team was not so nice. The assembled the units outside on the street and complained about the way I wanted them installed saying it couldn't be installed that way. I told them to do it anyway and lo and behold it worked. I didn't get a chance to inspect the units for damage as they were installing them in the laundry room which is small. I should have told them to stop before the install. Luckily there was no appearance of damage. Then the installer started testing the units. Washer worked well but I heard the dryer was not tumbling. After 15 minutes of fiddling with it the installer said everything worked and asked me to sign the papers. Dumb me figured he knew more than I did so signed the papers. After they left I tried the dryer and the motor didn't tumble the drum. It sounded like a seized motor. I called the service department and asked them if I wasn't operating the dryer properly. The technician walked me through the steps and it still didn't rotate. A service ticket was issued for the next day. The technician, Kevin, was great and found that the motor wasn't mounted properly, either it wasn't build right or was manhandled improperly. After an hour of disassembly and remounting the motor and reassembly the dryer worked fine. No charge as it should be, but I'll never trust the word of a delivery person again. Just an out-right lie.
Description of Work: Repaired a new dryer due to either poor handling by delivery or in shipping.

Had someone else look at it and found out it couldn't be repaired. Had warranty's on two other appliances and they told us that we didn't get a warranty for the microwave but we did for the two other appliances we owned. We couldn't make any sense of the situation.
Description of Work: Microwave assessment. Gave a high estimate to repair it but no services were rendered.

I ordered dishwasher, I was told it will be delivered and installed in several days but it never happened and 6 weeks later the salesman eventually called and informed me that the order would have to be cancelled. Imagine they were sitting on it for 6 months. I do lots of shopping and business deals with different providers however I have never encountered such insensitive, incompetent, unprofessional and business unfriendly entity called East Coast Appliance at Battlefield Bvd in Chesapeake !!!! I advise fellow shoppers not to have shopping in that store
Description of Work: All the unimaginable happened on the first day I ordered dishwasher that the receipt carried the name another customer which was fixed as expected. I made a call to the store 2 weeks later to remind them of my order, unfortunately six weeks later I was told they could not do it. No explanation is given!

I was told the appliances could be delivered the following week. Then I was told only the refrigerator, stove, washing machine, and dryer could be delivered. I was also told I would be contacted 30 minutes prior to actual delivery. On the day of delivery I was given a delivery window of 3 to 6pm. At about 3:15pm I received a call from East Coast Appliance asking if I had received the appliances; I said no. I was put on hold for a few minutes and then the representative said the appliances would be delivered soon. I waited. Just before 6pm I received a call and was told the deliveries were running about an hour late. I waited. At 7:30pm I called East Coast Appliance but did not get any response. Then I received a call from the delivery person who said they hoped to make the delivery by 8pm, but it could be later. At this point I told them to return the appliances to their warehouse. The next day I spoke to the sales representative. He had no knowledge of the failed delivery. I complained and asked what they were going to do for me. After a while a manager, Walt, called and said all he could do was refund the delivery charge, which was a minor amount compared to the $4,781. I promised to also personally track my next delivery and assured me it would be the first of the day. Several days passed and no refund credit appeared on my credit card. I stopped by the store and asked the sales representative if I needed to sign anything to receive the credit. He had no knowledge of it, but would follow it up. The next delivery was scheduled for 3/12/14. I was called late that morning and told my delivery would be between 1 and 3pm, clearly not the first delivery of the day as Walt promised. However, 4 of the appliances were delivered. A week passed and I still had not received the refund credit nor had I heard anything about the delivery of the last 2 appliances. I called and spoke to the sales representative who said he would follow up with Walt. The sales representative said Walt had forgotten to process the credit. At best their customer service is very poor, or worse, Walt blatantly lied. I also asked when the last 2 appliances would be delivered. This was on a Friday and the sales representative said he would call me back on Monday. At 4pm on Monday I called the sales representative only to learn that the dish washer I bought was no longer available. This was a big surprise since and quot;Only new Amana, GE, Frigidaire and Maytag items displayed are stock.and quot; is printed on the original sales order. But they sold me an item that was not stock, it did not exist. East Coast said they would send me the newer model as soon as it was available. The earliest possible date is three weeks from now. In other words, it will be 2 months from the original purchase date before I receive the dish washer. East Coast offered to substitute their floor model instead of a new dish washer; however, they would not reduce the price. East Coast Appliance may, or may not, have the lowest prices, but it is quite clear their customer care, support, and business operations are of the lowest quality. I will never purchase from them again and never recommend them to anyone. Instead I will caution anyone whom I encounter to avoid them based on my horrible experiences.

We bought a whirlpool refrig/Freezer 1.5 years ago at the Newport News Store. There was no problems with the purchase, delivery nor instillation. However, as part of the sale they recommended a 5 years service warranty with FEDERAL WARRANTY SERVICE CORP OF ATLANTA GA. We prchased it. On December 20th our refrig/freezer, full of food, stopped working. We called the warranty company. The best they could do was service on Jan 7th, 2014. And would not authorize us finding a local repair person. We called East Coast to complained and they said they do not service Williamsburg, VA and offered no assistance. While we have no problems with East Coast's sales folks, We think there service policies are very poor and their suggested warranty plan is worthless and should not be purchased.

They would have received an A rating if the sales staff had been resposive when the manager was absent.
Description of Work: They carry are full line at very competitive prices. The problems were minor but involved very mixed competence on the sales floor. The manager and one sales person were excellent but when they were absent the rest of the sales staff were incompetent to answer any questions regarding our order. In one instance the person hung up rather than find the answer. The installation work was outstanding. The person arrived on schedule and and did excellent work.

Bought a brand new SAMSUNG washer/dryer ($2000 total) about 2 1/2 years ago from East Coast Appliance Chesapeake location and at the same time purchased the extended warranty they offered. Now the dryer will not heat up. Trying to use extended warranty, and have had to make 4 phone calls so far, and the warranty service just told me they have only 2 service providers authorized to do samsung repairs that will come to chesapeake, and I have to wait 5 days to hear when they will give me a 3 hour window for a service call Wednesday (6 days from my first call). When I purchased the washer/dryer, one of the main selling points for me was when they said that East Coast Appliance has their own service team to support their customers through the extended warranty they sell, which I thought translated to fast, convenient service. I feel like an idiot for giving them my hard-earned money.
