First, Doug is what you always HOPE and DREAM a contractor is going to be like! I left a message and he returned it promptly! When we did chat, he made an appointment, and was ON TIME! He was open to communicating via text and email, because it was easier for me. We (my husband and I) were confused as to what exactly we needed vs. what we wanted. Doug was willing to walk me through and explain the difference in products he recommends using. Where I wanted 10 lights he explained, 6 would be plenty (savings for me about $600) and he mapped it out for me so that I could "see" it! When we decided on what was going to be installed, instillation date and time was to picked. Doug was here ON TIME with a smile and a great attitude! As he worked through the different areas of our home, he cleaned up behind himself. When job one was complete, I hired him again that day to come back and do more! Again, communication was wonderful and he is ALWAYS punctual! The second phase was completed yesterday. Once again, I've hired him to do one more phase. I'm looking forward to Doug coming in and working his magic. What he has installed so far, has made a HUGE difference in our home! The LED lights are great. Doug's philosophy, is be honest, be on time and do it correct the FIRST time! I would HIGHLY recommend Doug to anyone who needs a good honest KNOWLEDGEABLE electrician! We will definitely be hiring him again, when electrical work is needed!

I have nothing negative to say because he is a wonderful electrician. Great prices and very professional. Great personality and very friendly. I now know who my electrician is and will do all my future work. Thank you Angie's list for helping me find the right person for the job!

Doug was cordial on the phone and actually arrived a little early for our initial appointment (to ensure he wasn't going to be late). He did a thorough check of all the work to be done, asking and answering questions to be sure there was no misunderstanding. His quote was emailed to us that evening (as was agreed upon) and several days later we agreed on a start date/time. Even with his other commitments he was able to start in a little more than a week. On the scheduled day he again arrived a little early and was fully prepared to do the job. He remained professional during the entire project, even when crawling around in tight areas of the attic in order to fish new wire through new runs. He did exactly what we had agreed upon and even went a little over the top in providing upgraded materials in some cases...he even came in a little under budget since he didn't need to use all of the materials he expected. The job looks and functions perfectly and we fully intend to use his services again in the future.

Doug was great, we were in the process of selling our home and he was great at getting to us quickly and finishing the work quickly and even pointed out some work that was poorly done by another provider. After looking at the work, I asked I he would help and he made a quick trip to his truck and came back in to compete the Job. I would defiantly us Doug again! I wish I got more recommendations like this one. I surprised he is not #1 on the list. Give it time and he will be.

Very professional. He was able to diagnose a cross wired 3 way switch that required neutrals for the zwave (home automation) and quickly fix it within a 2 hour window. He was able to fit us in his schedule for that day on short notice and was on time. We will be using him for our future electrical needs.

We called Doug on short notice because a few electrical repairs needed to be made for a home inspection on the house we were selling. We had already moved out of the state, so we were communicating with Doug over the internet and phone calls. My husband had to go back to VA to complete some other work and made arrangements to meet with Doug to get the electrical work completed. Doug arrived on time, he got right to work and finished the job to satisfaction. We have used this company in the past and were very pleased with his work and professionalism.

Doug provided exceptional service. He returned my call promptly, went over options for poll replacement, scheduled the first available date and showed up on time. I picked Doug solely on Angie's list reviews and they were spot on. Our home is 12 years old and was built with a custom lamppost that was bolted to a cement foundation. The poll corroded though and crack and needed to be replaced. Since replacing a custom poll would have required significant work, Doug walk us though some options that were more cost effective. Once we purchased the poll we wanted, Doug set up a time to complete the repair. He arrived 10 minutes early to start prep work. He completed the repair quickly and did a very nice job. He even went above and beyond and painted the foundation that had faded over the years. Doug was polite and professional through the entire process. We will definitely recommend his services to our friends and will use Doug for future work.

Doug arrived on time, reset one set of GFIs that I had been unable to reset and then tracked down the problem with the other set and replaced a defective plug. He was professional, pleasant and extremely reasonable. I highly recommend him. He did fairly extensive work for many years ago and he continues to be an excellent service provider.

I was very impressed by Doug. He was very personable, prompt and knowledgeable as noted in the prior reviews. This man really knows his trade and gave me very handy tips on power surges, the significance of the GFI outlets and possible replacement of my smoke alarms. I always use Angie's List and I have never been disappointed. I most certainly will use Doug for any electrical issues in the future.

Addressed almost every known contingency in planning and adjusted to unknowns during install very well. Recommended alternative options. Very honest in appraisal of conditions and recommendations. Doug is a true professional and we highly recommend his services to anyone shopping for a competent, fairly priced electrician. He was punctual, easy to work with, and helped us determine the best location for our lighting projects. He was also very reasonable and he took his time to ensure his measurements were precise and he never cut corners. When he installed our surge protector he found some code discrepancies in our panel and corrected them at no extra charge. Mr Lilley arrived as promised and performed the work over two days. He was prepared for the potential ceiling fans - not having the correct electrical box to support the weight etc for a ceiling fan. He worked seamlessly going from project to project to correct all of the issues.

Called on a Tuesday and scheduled work for a Thursday. He called when he was on his way. He arrived about 20 minutes after the phone call. He was very nice and personable. We showed him the problem. He took all precautions to ensure safety. He diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it 10 minutes later. He explained what the problem was and was very professional but with a good sense of humor. I wish more small businesses had the customer service he provided. Overall work was outstanding and affordable. I would highly recommend his company and will call him in the future if needed.

Doug was on time and did an excellent job

He came beforehand to give us an estimate, and stayed within his estimate. He worked quickly and cleanly and emphasized safety. He warned me when he had to turn off the power for the entire house--no surprises! He was on time and finished quickly. We have been very pleased with his responsiveness, suggestions and work, and hope we can have him come back for other projects!

Overall, it went great. Doug is a one man band, but that doesn't diminish the experience. I got quotes from other companies that went WAY over what Doug quoted me for, and the workmanship was impeccable. He cleaned up everywhere he went and I feel so much more secure in a 100 year old house that no longer has any more knob and tube wiring because now all of my expensive electronics are plugged into grounded circuits and the overall organization and fire safety of the electricity in my house is vastly improved. Great experience. Great price.

Doug works cheerfully, does excellent work, and out did himself cleaning up the wiring in the house. This project offered a number of challenges that Doug took on with good humor. Working in the attic and two unfinished closets was dirty work despite our best efforts to remove insulation. Several times he hit puzzling circuits that took some brainstorming to develop a solution. The work in the attic and the living room went more slowly than he expected due to confined spaces and dust, but he never complained. Through out the project he stood by his quotes except for small increases due to material costs. Over 90+ years the wiring in the basement looked chaotic. He did two things I appreciated - he pointed out where I could remove wire and keep my costs down; and he cleaned up the wiring where ever he went. His worked passed inspection both times. I would hire him again in a heart beat. His sense of humor, work ethic, and pricing make his service an excellent value.
