Description of Work: Had them do a diagnostic on our A/C - got an estimate of about $580 (over and above the diagnostic fee of $49). Had a second estimate - the cost was $300 lower. The part replaced was easily found on internet at cost of about $100 so they are charging very high labor costs.

Description of Work: Air Handlers Mechanical Inc., performed a maintenance tune-up on my heating unit as required by my new home warranty provider. They arrived on-time, were extremely courteous and offered several tips to help the unit run more efficient. My wife and I will definitely being using them for future heating/air conditioning needs.

Description of Work: Performed diagnostic service on A/C unit. Determined cause of issue. Replaced defective part. Was pleased with services rendered. Technician was curteous and knowledgeable and was happy to explain what the issue was when asked.

Description of Work: Heater would not start. Turned out to be a vacuum switch. Once the tech did a manual cycle of the switch a couple of times, it seems to have fixed the problem. $119 for weekend service call and $28 labor for time on site. Tech was professional.

Description of Work: I am not sure of the date of service. I knew I had some issue with my Outside A/C unit. They professionally figured out that it was above the Coupon that I signed up for, but applied that to total job. I was very satisfied with all their services, they did an excellent job.

Description of Work: The A/C stopped working--blowing hot air instead of cool--and the heat was so bad that we needed a technician immediately. AirHandlers came out the very next day after I called and immediately discovered that the capacitor had ruptured itself. They replaced the part and checked the airflow from every vent in the house, which I appreciated. However, they charged me wayy too much for the length and difficulty of the job. I later found out that the part only costs about a fifth of what they charged, and that it was possible for someone with a minimum of electrical know-how to fix themselves. The repairman told me that the part was more expensive than it was in an attempt justify the price. The air began to work correctly immediately, so they did the job, but the price for their services is too much for me to ever use them again.

Description of Work: Very outstanding overall. From the phone call to schedule the appointment until the air conditioning was functioning properly, the entire experience was completely professional. This repair was for an out of state rental I own. Our tenants said this was absolutely the best service call they have ever had. The technician called me personally and gave me updates with cost estimates that matched the final bill. I also dealt with two people in the administrative offices who were both easy to talk to and professional. I will definitely use Air Handlers Mechanical Services again for any HVAC needs we may have in the future. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: I chose the next available three days for the appointment as well during my purchase and those days came and went and weeks past. Calls went to voicemail and this company would not return my phone calls to setup an appointment for the service to be performed. We were hoping to get the service lined up on our A/C system to be ready for renters as of this coming week, but we'll just have to hope and pray that the system is ok without the inspection. We certainly will not be calling Air Handlers Mechanical Services, Inc. to have any work done on our home in the future. They probably would not return our calls anyhow.

Description of Work: The "deal" was for a diagnostic service call. Not exactly what I wanted, but I figured I could explain what I wanted when I spoke with the company rep. What I wanted was a contract for annual or semi-annual tune-ups of my HVAC system and my outdoor emergency generator. When I spoke with the company to schedule the diagnostic service call, I described what I really wanted. I was informed that they do not service emergency generators. Since I am not having any current problem with my HVAC system there is no need for a diagnostic service call (no problem to diagnose). That's why I am seeking this refund.

Description of Work: There's something to be said about a company that works hard to satisfy their customers. Air handlers is one of them. Our upstairs a/c unit had stopped pumping out cold air. We called Air Handlers because of their great ratings on Angies list and weren't disappointed. Kevin, the tech, arrived on time, immediately put on booties and set to work figuring out the problem. He was friendly and kept us informed of what he was doing every step of the way. He determined that we needed a new condensing unit upstairs and showed me where the problem was and how he found it. He then went over the options as to what we could do. He explained them clearly and without a pressure sales tactic. We asked about a warranty on our current system and he called Trane right there and gave them the serial numbers of our units to confirm whether or not we had any warranty left. Unfortunately we did not. We decided to replace the whole unit, so he called Josh, one of the engineering team members and he arrived at our home within the hour to help us decide what to do. He also put on booties, even though he did nothing to bring in dirt. He was also very friendly and honest. The parts were ordered and within a few days the installation team arrived to install the system. They were also very clean, wore booties, were very quite, as my wife works at home. They went above and beyond to install the new system, even fixing old lines that weren't related to the install. They even retaped the entire furnace unit upstairs as part of the job. They cleaned up every bit of mess they made. I couldn't even tell that they had been at our home, except for the new units. We couldn't be happier with the overall job. As far as we are concerned, Air Handlers has a customer for life. Thanks for a job well done!

Description of Work: Furnace kept turning off. Technician said there was not enough air flow so he adjusted vents and everything seemed to work ok after that.
