It went well. He was on time and friendly. I asked a few questions about freon and it didn't need any. We just started using the system and it works really good.

I had a good experience with 7 Services Inc. I was pleased with it. They came the day after I bought the Big Deal or the next day after that. The unit had frozen and he came out to check it. He said that it just needed coolant. It was the first time I used them. He was prompt, courteous, honest and reliable.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's Big Deal to get my air conditioning tuned-up. I had two Angie's Big Deal and he had said one of them was the wrong one. He used the $59.00 Big Deal and then he charged me another $180.00 to put in the coolant. He did check it out and it didn't need anything, other than coolant.

These guys were great. The owner came to my home at the time appointed and we discussed replacing my heating unit since it was was over 20 years old and was running very rough. He quoted me a special price from Angie's List membership. I accepted and the next morning his 2 man crew came out and completed the work in 3 hours time. I was very happy with the owner and his team of technicians, the value I received from the cost of the furnace, and the performance of the furnace after installation. It is a very quiet unit. I would recommend 7-services for anyone planning to upgrade their HVAC system.

The inspection went well and William was great about explaining what he was doing. My reason for giving the B in Responsiveness and Punctuality is that William promised me a return call to discuss what could be done to quiet the excessive compressor noise. He had a couple of ideas that he wanted to discuss with his boss and would be back in touch. As of this posting I haven't the promised information.

Asked for free estimate to replace heat pump/HVAC system. Estimator looked at the heat pump but didn't bother to go upstairs and examine the air handler/furnace in the attic. I suspect it was too much trouble for him and he could win the job by low balling the quote ... he did so by separating the labor warranty which the 8 other quotes did not. Of all the estimators, he was the only one who did not go into the attic. Not knowing the furnace, duct work, electrical or connection to the heat pump, how could he provide a quote without knowing they could compromise the installation in order to meet the budget? I don't know if he was arrogant or lazy, but he succeeded in dissuading me from using 7-Services for anything. FYI, even with sandbagging the labor warranty, the bid was still only in the mid-range of all quotes. [Note: the service, giving a free estimate, was provided, but nothing else.]

Response from 7 Services Inc
We have no information on a customer Arthur Kerry. On the same day in question we had a [member name removed]. I did not go in the attic on this call. As I was talking to him, he became upset because I told him I would have to pull a permit and said none of the others contractors told him that. If you pull a permit a city inspector will come out and review all the work to make sure it is by code. We have installed thousands of heat pumps and are normal process is to replace everything in the attic and seal and exposed ductwork that is leaking. Also on our agreement we guarantee that whatever price we give you it will not cost you any more money, even if we have to do extra work to make the system 100% safe, efficient and reliable. All systems come with 1 year labor warranty and 10 year part warranty. You can purchase an additional labor warranty through the manufacture for extra cost.

He came right out when we called him. We just got back from out of town and we found the furnace was not igniting at all. We fixed the issue very quickly after he arrived. I hit a breaker to see what happens and the furnace lit right up! He told me that since he didn't do anything, he didn't charge me, or claim the Big Deal, but told me to hang on to the Big Deal and we could do the diagnostic at a later date. He was very pleasant to work with and honest and straightforward.

The repair went smooth. My only objection was with the price charged. This was was a simple repair taking less than 45 minutes to diagnose and repair and we were charged $237. I know that 7 Services believes this is fair I will leave it to other Angie's List subscribers to decide. I do not intend to use this company again in the future.

We responded to the call for a rental property in a timley mannor. The Charge for the Diagnostic was $69.00. The system was wired wrong and had to be rewired. The charge for the rewire was $168.00. We vaule our customers and have pride in what we do. We feel $168.00 for this repair in not excesive and does not deserve an F. For our customer whom we provide maintenance for the charge would have only been $127.00. I want to thank you for using our services and I am sorry you feel the charge is too high.

I purchased a unit two years ago from a different company that damaged a lot of things under my house during installation and then claimed theydidn't do it. This past weekend I discovered my heater wasn't working. After looking around I decided to go with this company based on the coupons and ratings here on angie's list. They were very quick to respond, less than one hour, and very quick at repairs. They guarantee their work for up to 30 days so that also is nice. They were nice enoughto let me know my unit was still under warranty which saved me approximately $1200 and something my old company did not let me know. For those that are not "club member" the prices are really high for labor, parts is comparable to other companies. If you do choose to become a club member the prices are on average for extra repairs and below average (as in better) for normal maintenance. If you are a planner I would go ahead and join this club so that you can be ahead of the game and save yourself some last minute money related anxiety. Overall I found them professional and yet friendly enough to make you feel comfortable with a stranger walking in and out of your home. I would recommend them but I would advice to become a member before calling them out. Oh and the price break down was $168 for warranty transfer (from old company that didn't even tell me I had an extended warranty) and $434 for installation (took him 45 minutes to install 30 minutes to diagnose). In this case I am hoping I get what I paid for.

Same as above explanation.
Description of Work: The gentleman from 7 Services arrived promptly on time, and performed a careful and thorough checkup of my air conditioning unit. He found only one thing, a switch, that needed to be replaced in order to prevent a later breakdown. The cost of the switch was $168. He replaced it. He also offered a choice of one of 3 "Club Memberships," an annual maintenance contract to keep my "heating and air conditioning equipment in top notch condition." There are 3 club memberships: Silver Club for $167.40 yearly, Gold Club for $203.40 yearly, and PlatinumCombo for $334.80. I elected to wait a while to consider the club membership. I then, later, selected the "PlatinumCombo Maintenance & Full Coverage" plan which allows me to keep my system running in "top notch" condition and if it fails, get it repaired for free. This costs $334.80. I mailed the contract with a check for $334.80 on June 27th. I had not completed the blanks with the beginning date, nor the serial number of my unit, because I expected the company to insert those items. However, I did not hear any more from the company for quite some time. I telephoned their office and spoke with the receptionist, and explained that I had mailed in the contract and thought that the company would have completed the blanks and mailed a completed copy back to me. She wasn't sure about it and had to confer with someone else in the company and someone would get back to me. Several weeks passed and I had not heard from the company, so I telephoned the company again and explained the situation. Finally, on September 20th, I received an invoice marked paid, and a copy of the original contract just as I had mailed it to them, with the blanks still not completed. The explanation for the total spent listed in the above section is: $49. for the original checkup, $168. for the switch, and 334.80 for the maintenance contract. Total $551.80 I have not called them for any repairs nor any checkup since our first service call on May 21st. 49 168 334.80

Took advantage of the Angie's List reduced price. Repairman (Shawn) showed up on time almost to the minute. Looked over my heat pump/furnace system and gave it a clean bill of health. I asked about something a previous repairman told me would take a $900 part to fix a "nice to have feature". Shawn checked and found a new thermostat that did the same job for $437 INSTALLED. He went for the new item and everything was in place and explained the same morning. Excellent work by a very courteous repairman. I would not hesitate to recommend 7 Services to my friends.

I took advantage of the deal I was alerted to on Angie's list for an $89.00 tune up of heating and air systems. They came and seemed to do that alright although they missed a problem on my furnace I discovered later. They talked me into joining a "Club Membership" for $155.40 during that visit which would give discounts and service etc. I later noticed a corrosion problem in the piping of my furnace and called over several months and could not get them to return my call. I have called at least 6 times to get them to set up an appointment to fix this problem and still have not received a call back, even though I talked to the owner's son twice and the owner's wife once! I'm done waiting on this company now and hope no one else falls for their "Club" pitch. I also could never recommend their service.

The estimate was given over the phone as 7 services had an Angielist 2 ton as a special promotion. They arrived two days later to install. They arrived at the specified time and installed the system that day. I was impressed with Mr. Malin's knowledge as I had many questions concerning a vibration that I was hearing. He promptly had the technician correct and minimize the sound. He included extra's in my package which I greatly appreciate. This particular installation was a rental but I had him to my home for a quote on a gas heater and ac. I would use this company again.

Co. set up appt. Co. came early with my o.k. Introduced himself, saw his I.D. Showed him where the a/c unit was outside, the unit in the garage, and the thermostat. He went from unit to unit to thermostat - retraced his steps a few times. Went to every register in the home and checked the temp. Told me everything appeared to be fine. Went over changing air filter at least every 30 days. I signed off
Description of Work: The company,7 Services, set up the appointment, (time & date of my choosing)came on time, and performed maintenance on my air conditioning system. Checked the parts, etc, thermostat, just methodically took care of making sure I don't have any unpleasant surprises this summer.I would not hesitate to use them again, and will most likely call them in the fall for my gas furnace maintenance. The service man performing the maintenance was able to call me and come 30 minutes early, with my o.,k. It is difficult for me to a**** the steps as he methodically went from the a/c unit, the thermostat, the central unit in the garage. I can tell you that this service person did everything my previous service did at three times the cost. I would not hesitate to use them again, and will call them in the fall when it's time to begin using the gas heat.

5/18/2012 was my service appointment between 2-4pm. When I arrived home from work the companies van was in my driveway (blocking my garage door so I couldn?t pull in). The serviceman was young and very pleasant. He went to work checking the A/C units (I have two), he was in the attic, he checked the vents, and he checked the units themselves. Here?s where things go very bad, very fast. The serviceman was upstairs and I was downstairs for several minutes. I went upstairs to check on him; I thought he was up in the attic. I needed something in my bedroom and when I walked in I noticed the bathroom light on. I stood there for a few seconds wondering if I had left it on. I then heard a noise that sounded like my cabinet (that I keep meds and other things in) closing. I moved towards the bathroom where I could see the serviceman down on one knee and then he stood up quickly and started checking the vent in my bathroom. From that point-on I felt very uneasy and as he spoke it was very fast. I didn?t say anything to him; I am a female and I was alone in the house. We went downstairs and he informed me I was 6 lbs. low in my downstairs A/C unit, but because he felt bad he would cut me a deal and only charge me for 4 lbs. At that point I called a co-worker and had him speak with the serviceman. We agreed not to have the coolant put in until a nitrogen check could be done on the system to determine if there was a leak in my downstairs A/C. Before the appointment could be set-up the serviceman had to call back to the main office to get an estimate on the nitrogen test, possible fix cost and refrigerant. At that point, I was going to be charged for 6 lbs. of refrigerant and the entire bill could have ended up costing over $600.00. Feeling very uneasy about what transpired, I finally called the owner and spoke with him about the incident. I explained that I couldn?t be for certain the serviceman was in my medicine cabinet, but I did hear the sound and I did see him on bended knee in front of the cabinet and quickly standing up. I explained that it made me feel very uneasy in my own house. While on the phone with the owner I cancelled my appointment for the nitrogen leak test and informed him I would be calling the original company that installed it in case I needed a part replaced and it was still under warranty. The owner said he would speak with the serviceman and would call me back. A few hours later I did receive a call, but it was from the serviceman that was at my house ? he said ?My Dad told me I freaked you out?. The owner at no point mentioned to me that it was his Son on my service-call. The Son was very apologetic and I was going to let it go and not write a review on Angie?s list; however the story doesn?t stop here. My neighbor?s good friend use to work for a company that services A/C systems. I trust my neighbor and his friend so I called the recommended company. They came over for the initial consultation on 6/1/2012. This service provider was extremely pleasant, but more importantly Extremely Honest! He checked my A/C unit and found that it was low, but not 6 lbs. low as I was told. He told me if it needed any refrigerant I would probably only need 1 lb. Additionally, the service provider told me that the downstairs unit only holds 4.8 lbs. of refrigerant and that it is written on the unit; yet I was going to be charged for 6 lbs. of refrigerant by 7 Services. When the company I hired charged the line there was an indication something was wrong with the unit. He went back into the attic and found that the TXV wasn?t functioning right and it would have to be replaced. 6/5/2012 the company I hired to do the work came back with the part and did the following. - Replaced TXV in downstairs A/C unit- Pumped down refrigerant so no new refrigerant was needed- Charged unit w/nitrogen to 250 psi (no leaks detected)- Vacuumed down system and turned back on- Installed float switches into drain pan (my drain pan was rusted and I have already had an overflow issue which caused leak damage in my ceiling. Until the company I hired explained to me about the drain pan and the float switches I didn?t put it together why I had a leak in my ceiling) For 3 hours of labor and 2 float switches I was only charged $356.00. The TXV was covered under warranty, but even if it hadn?t been my total still would have been cheaper than what I was quoted by 7 Services Inc. and my A/C unit is fixed, which it wouldn?t have been had I let 7 Services do the job. Bottom-line, I WOULD NOT recommend 7 Services Inc.
Description of Work: I received a “Big Deal” $49 A/C System Tune-Up coupon for 7 Services Inc. from Angie’s list. I checked the company out on Angie’s list and because the ratings were all A’s I scheduled the A/C System Tune-Up.
