The process was seamless. Graham told us what, how much and when the work would be done and it all happened in exactly the way he promised. He made suggestions that exactly met our needs and the results are beautiful.

It went well after initial problems caused by abnormal rain levels. Problems were solved expeditiously. Project was completed on time. I was very pleased and plan to have Mr. Howe do additional landscaping in the spring.

On a side note, all of the staff for the Great Outdoors are incredibly friendly and polite, making them enjoyable to work with. The company also has an ecological mentality to their work, trying to utilize local plants in their landscaping, which was appealing to my wife and me. We will definitely call the Great Outdoors for any future work we would like done.

We had asked for a simple straight line of slate steps on wooden 4x4s. Graham proposed a turn mid way and tie in to the backyard porch stairs. It ended up being beautiful, instead of merely functional. And the choice of plantings was also very attractive. The team did the work in one day and we were thrilled with the result.

We are very pleased with the service that Graham provided - our yard looks beautiful again! From the scheduling of the estimate to the completion of the work, Graham was professional, friendly, organized and energetic. Pricing was competitive and the crew were the most efficient we've seen. We will certainly call Graham again for any future project.

The start of the work was delayed due to work load of the provider. Finally had to demand start so we could get use of the patio while there was some summer left to enjoy it. Everything seemed to go well during the installation. Good communication, workers arriving on time daily, proper materials etc.. As it turned out the bottom step from the stairs (previously installed) to the patio is about 2 inches making it a code violation. We had to investigate revising the stair construction or taking up the patio and digging it deeper to match the other steps. Neither choice was financally viable. So we're stuck with a code problem when we sell the house which would have to be corrected or accepted by the new owner. The house was built with intention to sell in 5 to 6 years. Additionally the material which was used to fill the cracks between the pavers hardens after wetted like croute. The problem here is the fine material was somehow blown or somehow got on the siding and doors. We haven't tryed to get it off yet but expect a problem there. The pavers themselves were not laid as smoothly as we expected and cannot be lifted to adjust the sand underneath because of the hardness of the crack filler. We were told that when pavers are used irregularities are allowed by standard to some degree. I guess we expect perfection from professionals. We just didn't get what we expected.

I highly recommend the company and plan to bring him back for additional projects, including specialty maintenance in the future. Employer and his crew were on site for several weeks, well mannered and hard working, even in the heat and humidity of the summer. They were on time, kept an ordered worksite and cleaned-up at the end of each day. Because my dogs also use the yard, i trusted them to keep the gates shut and they did so, without complaint. The owner / crew leader prepared the design for this project, coordinating that design and the cost proposal with the general contractor and me, the owner. He took the time to walk me through his design, answering questions patiently and with excellent knowledge. He took my recommendations into account and when not appropriate, explained his reasoning carefully and with respect. He also coordinated the project through the contractor, arborist and irrigation professionals so scheduled work went as planned. At the close of each day, the owner also let me know when he would be returning. I also appreciated his rapport with the crew members, working along side them, but as their boss. I highly recommend The Great Outdoors for professionalism and price. A very fine operation.

Graham is great to work with, knowledgable and reliable. His team installed norfolk pines, ferns, lemon thyme, grape vines, blueberry bushes just to name more than a few! My once blah boring courtyard off my home office is now my garden think tank.

The results are amazing - I only wish we had taken "before" pictures so we could remember what it used to look like. The old landscaping was about 10 years old and was overgrown and unattractive. The new design incorporates all the requests we had, such as deer and drought resistant plantings. Graham and his crew dug up and removed the old shrubbery and installed the new items per the plan. We requested a change to the design once they were underway which he accommodated without issue. His team was courteous, professional and hard-working. Since the installation was completed neighbors have stopped by to comment on how great everything looks - and what an improvement it is over the old plantings.

Great drawings and suggestions, very punctual. I will have the great outdoors here again if he ever has an opening!
