Pretty bad experience overall. Sipes Construction, DBA Saga Homes was a mistake. It was truely a Saga to get out home done - and even with that we had to do a good portion of re-work to get some things done properly. If you want to pay someone to build your house and then have to be the project manager and QA person for them - their your guys. I don't recommend them. Key points - Little to no coordination and terrible communication from Scotty. He basically leaves the build up to what few employees he has and the sub’s to figure out. Most of the subs did a fantastic job – and his electrician was doing most of the coordination with the different crews. Some staff were problematic in several areas from a workmanship perspective and attention to detail. - Saga Homes / Sipe’s Construction had numerous errors between what was in the contract and drawings and how they were building. I had to correct them almost weekly to enforce what was in the contract and what the drawings detailed. - Scotty barely showed up on site and his staff and subs even let us know that he wasn’t often out. There was no one doing any QA checks on the build process except for myself, and it was a good thing that I knew what to look for and what they were supposed to do. We were also building our barn at the same time so I and my other help were out watching what was going on a lot of the time. - I’ve had to go behind them and fix numerous things that they did improperly from flooring, doors, trim, and especially a media outlet they totally botched for our TV. When we’ve tried to get them to address items – it’s taken way too long and even then, their ability to fix things properly has been lack-luster. Good luck if you choose to go with these folks.
