Rodney's Painting Service

Rodney and his crew were able to come within a couple of days of my asking him for an estimate. They had a postponement of another job freeing him up to do mine quickly. They are very punctual, and work quickly & professionally. They keep things clean and neat and are careful around our home. One of the rooms was difficult because it had been painted previously in paint stripes. In order to make it look right he had to sand the stripe edges on the walls all around putting in the extra effort to make sure it would look right.

He contacted me within 24 hrs of my call. He came out within 1 day to give a quote. Within 2 weeks, he had already completed 2 jobs. He was prompt, professional and his price was fair. He worked with us to accommodate our renovation schedule. He even picked up the paint for us since we didn't have the time so we could stay on schedule. We were happy with his work. He will be our "go to" painter in the future.

I got quotes from several painters and Rodney's was the best. They did a really great job with the painting and were able to finish a large job in 8 days. They painted all the ceilings, trim, doors, and walls of our 3500 sq ft home. He set up an account for me at Childress paints and they use Porter's paint from there and I was able to have all the Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams colors that I had selected for our home color-matched there. Rodney was easy to work with and he was courteous and professional. I have already recommended him to friends because of combination of the good price and good work!

Amazing. Prompt quote, was able to start work within a week, completed a complex job in three days. The entire team was fantastic, moved furniture for us, covered all surfaces, and worked diligently to get it all done. The painting itself is flawless - they did two coats and took care to double check every area. They clearly take pride in the work they do. Will absolutely use them again. It's going to be awfully quiet around here now with Rodney and his team gone. I'll miss them playing the radio and singing along ...

I called Rodney's Painting Service after checking the listings on this website. Rodney and his crew were wonderful to work with. From the beginning, he was good-humored but professional and willing to listen and adjust to my needs. We decided the job would be two coats (cutting in and rollering), one color above the chair rail, a second color below. The trim would not be painted, and they would use the paint I had bought earlier, when I planned to do the painting myself. On the day scheduled, Rodney arrived with 2 additional painters. The job consisted of a lot of brushwork--above and below the chair rail, above the baseboard, below the crown molding, and around 3 doors and the equivalent of 4 windows-- and not much roller work, but to my surprise, they finished in less than a day. I inspected the job and paid Rodney. The end of a very satisfactory transaction, right? Wrong. After the paint had dried, I noticed that some extensive re-painting would be needed--but it was my fault. I had miscalculated the amount of paint needed and had to buy a second gallon half-way through the job. After the paint dried, the two batches of paint did not quite match, though the difference was subtle. A little re-touching was needed, as well. I called Rodney. Two days later, he was back with his crew, even though he has just started another (much larger) job. I thought I might have to convince him of the need to re-paint, but he took one look and agreed that it needed to be done. He and the crew handled the matter as expeditiously as they had the first time around. I offered to pay Rodney for the extra time, especially since it was my mistake, but he refused. He said the important thing was that I be satisfied with the work. I've always been a DIY painter, in part because I've seen the uneven cut-in and dried drips on my neighbors' walls. Yeah, I'm a perfectionist. But now I've found my painter. Rodney and his crew are professionals who show up on time, clean up after themselves, listen carefully to the customer, and do a very nice job. I figure I'll be calling Rodney again, in the new year--two hallways and a foyer need some attention.

Rodney and his crew were wonderful! Ours was a four day job with many rooms and a whole lot of trim! They were able to start the job a day early, arrived promptly every morning and cleaned up every evening. We were very comfortable with the way they treated our home! By the way, the painting was awesome too!! This is our second experience with Rodney and we will definetly call him when we are ready to have the other rooms painted.

I called Rodney once I read all the other Angie's list reviews, he answered (didn't even go to voicemail!) and had me text him the address, etc. The next morning at 8 am (this place is remote--can't imagine what time he had to leave town to find me) he came out, looked around and texted me his quote and start date which was a few days later. On the start date I couldn't get to the rental until lunchtime, was SO surprised to walk in and find the delightful Rodney and his crew had made tons of headway already. Did I mention how neat they were? I swear the floors were cleaner when they left than when they walked in. Would definitely recommend Rodney to anyone without hesitation.

Rodney said they would be there at 8:00 and there were there at 8:00. Got right to work. Job was finished by 2:00 and this was a lot of painting. Professional and courteous, couldn't have asked for more. Job was done well and no problems; fixed some flaws in the wall (water damage and drywall tape) as part of the job. I found the price reasonable (included paint). I would use Rodney's painting service again and would recommend this service to others.

I cannot recommend Rodney's painting services highly enough! I had such a great experience with him and his entire crew that I wish I had another painting project to hire them for. I first contacted Rodney through Angie's list at 10pm on a Sunday night. I did not expect to hear back from him until the next day. However much to my surprise he texted me within 30 minutes and set up an appointment for the next day. He arrived promptly, a few minutes early actually! He promised to have a quote to me by Friday and he was right on time. He said that if I approved of the quote he could schedule to start the very next Monday. Monday morning bright and early he showed up with his crew. They were all extremely polite professional and extremely neat. They painted the entire house except for an unfinished basement in only 4 days and did a great job. Hire these guys, you won't be disappointed!

Rodney laid out the following schedule for the work: he'd repair broken plaster in the two rooms on Wednesday; his crew would paint the rooms (walls, ceiling, and trim) on Thursday; and we'd do a walkthrough of the work on Friday to make sure we were happy with the work. That's exactly how things went. He and his crew did good work, and they were very responsive and polite. When I have interior painting needs in the future, I'll definitely be calling Rodney.

They painted upstairs hall to the bedrooms and the the basement entertainment area and hallways. They did a fantastic job on painting the wood molding. After work the crew clean up the house, leaving no dust behind. Great job: on time, fast and perfect.

He and his crew showed up on the date and time promised, prepped the walls carefully, did a neat and efficient paint job, and left my house mess-free. First and foremost we were impressed by Rodney's customer service and communication, which we all know is very hard to come by these days. From the initial email sent, Rodney replied within minutes and was at our house that weekend to provide an estimate. Although we were not ready to start the job immediately and Rodney's schedule was full, he continued to follow up periodically (but not annoyingly) to see if anything had changed on our side so that he could fit us into his schedule with ease when we were ready. Rodney and his team showed up on time every day and were working within minutes of arrival. At the end of each day they cleaned up, vacuumed and had all their supplies stacked neatly in a corner, with furniture back into place which made it very easy to live as close to normal as possible through the entire process. Rodney was forthcoming with any difficult areas he encountered and was quick to fix any minor issues or concerns we found. The entire job took 3.5 days and all was completed to our satisfaction. I had three estimates for painting and decided to go with Rodney based on his previous reviews, customer service, and estimate. I have lived in the Charlottesville area for about 12 years now and I have never come across a better group of people. Rodney and his crew were professional, timely, efficient, responsive, and did a beautiful job. Every time I texted Rodney, he immediately returned my text with an answer and delivered on every promise. I was undecided on colors for a few rooms and Rodney would put up sample colors to make sure I was happy. Our home looks beautiful. I can not stress how impressed I was with the work that he did.
