They came out and gave a quote, issued a contract and then said someone would call about scheduling. No one arrived for 2 weeks and no call. I had to call them and they said they weren't sure when they'd be coming to do the work, but it'd be "soon". It was in the contract that they were to do service within a certain period of time which they didn't meet. We could've pulled the contract based on that, but we went through with it. There was only one guy on the whole team that was helpful but he wasn't actually at the job site. When the work did start, no one called ahead of time or rang the doorbell to let us know they were on property, they just started working and then they left without talking to us. I had to call someone to see if they were coming back, if the job had been done, etc. There was also an issue about someone saying there was a smell of "mold" which we overheard the crew members talking about which was supposedly just from our tile roof, but it didn't make us feel good and we had to press someone for an explanation as to what they found. The only positive was one of the guys we talked to who gave the initial quote was nice and friendly and took pictures of our broken tiles to show us.

The company came and gave us an estimate to repair a leak. We agreed to hire them and were told we would be given a contract with a ball park estimate of $400. They showed up for work on the day agreed, but no contract was ever issued. The workers asked for payment, but we refused to pay without a contractual agreement. The repair caused more damage to the house and we went from having a small leak to a significant one. When the owner was contacted, he referred me to his project manager, who effectively refused to acknowledge any responsibility and we were unable to resolve the issue. We hired a different roofing contractor to repair the original problem and the damage done by Payne Roofing. Professional looking website is misleading to potential customers. Buyer beware.
