Mr. Noonan has worked at my house on some five occasions over the past two years or so, each time tackling a slew of niggling projects I have saved up for him over the preceding months. After checking with me a few days prior to each visit to coordinate on my current list and to ensure he brings the right tools and materials with him, he dives into the work on the agreed-upon day and completes all tasks within the same day. He is nothing if not organized and thorough! On this particular day two of the several tasks I had waiting for Mr. Noonan required ingenuity as well as time and expertise: leveling the garage door (the slab had settled and dropped nearly an inch on one side, possibly enabling the snakes and mice I had seen to take up residence in the garage); and locating and repairing, at ground level, an approximately four-foot long crack beneath the living room windows where disgusting slugs had been entering the house seasonally for years and cavorting on the carpet to my complete bewilderment. After each completed task Mr. Noonan went the extra mile, sealing up several visible holes in the garage and blowing it clean of leaves and debris, and in the case of the slug-and-insect rout, checking the entire interior perimeter of the house for like damage. (Happily he found none.) Previous work that Mr. Noonan has done for me include rebuilding and staining four damaged outside windowsills; repairing and painting two water-damaged areas of my living room ceiling; pruning several trees; adding downspout extensions; creating a French drain; and cleaning gutters, all very satisfactorily. He is excellent at troubleshooting and discovers problems I didn't know I had, among them, rainwater leakage into my attic owing to broken pipe collars on the roof. That time, as it was the end of the day, he arranged buckets under the leaks, returned in the next few days to check on and empty them, and repaired the collars as soon as he could get to them. On the very few occasions when he doesn't have the expertise to correct a problem, he knows whom to call to get it done and makes the call; he is also a great source for the names of other tradesmen he considers reliable. All in all Mr. Noonan is a "find." My only worry is that he will become too popular and will no longer have time for my nit-picky projects. He is extremely personable, well read and well traveled, interested in many things, and tells very entertaining stories, none of which he allows to interfere with his work in progress as can often be the case. I am developing my next list as he is a delight to have on the premises...

We hadn't touched the outside of our house for about three years. After Noonan's had visited, our friends didn't recognize our yard! The improvements were so amazing, just hire them!!!

Reviews on Angie's List seemed almost too good to be true but I called Joe Noonan about painting the exterior of our house. He called right back and offered the number of other painters because he couldn't get to our house until the Spring. That--alone--impressed me that he wouldn't paint when painting season is over. I told him our painting could wait but we had other work that was more urgent. He apologized that he couldn't do the estimate for two weeks, due to his work load. When he showed, we walked the property together and made a list of work needed before Winter, and before the eventual painting. He gave us the first slot available. Joe called a couple of days before the job, and shortly before showing up (on time) the morning of. He and his helper explained their gameplan for the day, tweaked their schedule to our needs, and asked if there was anything else we needed done. We added a couple of extra items (at my request) to the list and they jumped into the work. The job they did was STUPENDOUS (especially the soffet vents!). The work was SUPURB! The reviews are right about Joe Noonan--he's knowlegible, honest, has great integrity, and goes ABOVE AND BEYOND the call of duty. He did everything he said they would do and even more. He followed up after the job to see if we were satisfied (VERY) and offered to return if we weren't. The reviews aren't too get good to be true--they're spot on. Joe is almost to good to be true. He almost adopts your house when he works on it; he treats it like he's working on his own home. I had to laugh when I read another reviewer say they didn't want to let others know about Noonan because he'd become too busy-- I put off this review until I was SURE we had our paint job on his schedule. We look forward to the Spring when we get our house painted. Finding Noonan's Inside & Outside Handyman Services, Inc. makes us feel that the money we spent on Angie's List was money well spent!

He did an excellent job, worked very efficiently, and cleaned up the work site well. We appreciated his assessment of the initial problem and his suggestions and solutions. The estimate for the work was free, even though Mr. Noonan spent considerable time assessing the situation and outlining possible remedies. We appreciate Mr. Noonan's professionalism and will definitely use his services in the future.

Joseph was very professional from the 1st phone call. He is very busy, so we had to wait a bit for him several weeks later he called to check on it & reconfirm the date. He is very knowledgeable & did an excellent job.

Joseph was great to work with. After my first phone call to him I got his voice mail and he returned my call within a couple of days. He set up an appointment to review the work, showed up on time, scheduled the work, and showed up on time again the day of the work. Joseph is a very hard worker and did quality work. I had a very long list of items for him to accomplish, and the agreement was that he would work off as many as he could within one day. His daily rate was $375 plus materials, which I felt was a very reasonable price. He did in fact, complete all the work on the list and helped me load a vanity into his van, whereupon we drove to our storage unit and we unloaded it at the end of the day. My only objection to the entire day was at the end when I wanted to settle the bill. Instead of just giving me the cost of his materials and adding on his daily rate as I expected, he started by asking me what I thought the value of his work was for the day. I was pretty taken aback, as I thought we had a very clear agreement. I felt bad in some respects, because he did work extremely hard and efficient on a very hot day. So rather than address our deal head on as I should have, I just offered him $400 for his labor, and he told me he thought that was light. He had about $30 in material costs and offered to settle for $450, which we did. I will, without hesitation, say that the work he did that day was worth what I paid. It just left a bit of a bad feeling at the end of a great day. I would recommend his services to a friend, but I would caution anyone that they need to be very clear about his labor rate going in. It would be a good idea to get the agreement in writing.

The job was performed in intervals because power-washing is a second job. However, service was performed when promised and was very well done. NO MESS!

I could not have been more pleased with my experience with Noonan's Handyman. I met Joseph Noonan in September and now have an on-going relationship with him. He was incredibly professional and friendly at all times and the quality of the work was superb. He followed up all work with a phone call and an email detailing exactly what had been done. In spite of a busy schedule, there were several times when my new tenants called about a small issue and he found time to respond to the need almost immediately; sometimes just after he had already spent time at the home on another issue. Working with Joseph makes me feel like I have a true partner in caring for my home. His responsiveness and care is beyond compare and I will continue to use him to help me with this property and any future properties I may own in the Charlottesville area. I would enthusiastically recommend Noonan's Handyman to anyone.

I called and spoke with Mr. Noonan in regards to various projects ranging from built in shelves to bathroom remodeling. Mr. Noonan responded very promptly and after discovering that my project needs are outside of his scope he gave me two great references. Mr. Noonan was highly professional and very approachable and friendly. I appreciate his straight forward and honest approach. Even though we couldn't make it work for my upcoming projects, I'm looking forward to working with Mr. Noonan down the road now that I understand his business better.

I have used this contractor on several occasions and cannot recommend him enough! He does wonderful quality work, is always on time, and goes beyond the norm to make sure the job is done well. The hardest part of the equation is his schedule -- he is hard too book because he is so busy!

Joseph Noonan performs the quality of work you would do for yourself if only you had the time and expertise. He can be trusted to do a thorough, quality job, and that's why I schedule him whenever the time permits. He ordered the required materials in advance of the project start date, performed the work on the scheduled date, did a thorough walk-through of the work performed, and on this particular job followed up on one item after the work date. I highly recommend Joseph Noonan.

Spectacular. I don't have time to write a long story, but we've had Noonan's do several jobs at our place. If he runs into an area that isn't in his area of expertise, he knows someone to call who can help out.

Having seen Joe Noonan's work, to clean other houses and having had him do interior handyman work I knew that he was the right person for this job. To start with it only took one phone call to leave a message for him to call us back. He called back that same day and discussed our needs. We set up an appointment for him to come see what needed to be done. He arrived on time even calling ahead to warn us of his approach. He walked around our house with me, Making detailed notes about everything that we discussed. He also made very good suggestions about things that I did not see. He called us with the job estimate soon afterwards. Agreeing on the price, we set up a three-day window for him to complete the work. He called several times to inform us of his plans and to discuss options that would make the job work better. He also called the day before to remind us that he was coming. That day he called us again as he was driving to our house to warn us of his approach. He brought with him 2 helpers who were courteous, hard-working and neat.The 3 of them got to work immediately. All 3 were very careful not to damage any of our plants and shrubs around the house. When they cleaned the gutters none of that awful mass ended up on the ground or on my plants. The house was finished in one day. Having cleaned my house with a power washer and cleaning solutions I was greatly impressed with how much cleaner their job was compared to mine. They used a power washer to clean my walkways which looked fantastic. But they use a cleaning solution for the house and I am grateful that they did not subject my wood siding to the devastating power of a power washer. As our house is 25 years old we had some rotten wood that needed to be replaced on the decks and around some of the doors. Joe cut out or completely replaced each piece. His carpentry looks like new. He used quality materials and rebuilt one threshold so well that it is stronger and better designed than it was when it was new. His detail work when he caulked gaps in our siding will be invisible once the house is painted and we would have had him paint our house if he had been able to put it on his schedule. Joe also trimmed some tree limbs that were touching the house. Having him do the trimming both saved time and money versus hiring a tree surgeon. Each day their work area was left neat and clean and the flowers in one Loriope bed even have a richer color after his men rinsed the area to make sure that there was no residual cleaning solution left behind. All in all I could not be more pleased. I will definitely use him again and recommend him highly.

Contacted Mr. Noonan. He was very prompt in returning our call. Scheduled a time to look at our job and give an estimate. He was here on the scheduled day - early. He phoned twice before the scheduled work date to touch base and confirm our date. He arrived on the date of service - early, worked all day, asked permission to purchase a few extra clips for the gutters, and left us with a comprehensive explanation of services and fees. Excellent.

Mr. Noonan went over and above on this job to make sure the trim paint color would match. He communicated directly with the Homeowners Association to verify the paint color, and after discovering that the paint the HOA recommended was discontinued, he went out of his way to have the paint mixed to match the color. It did match exactly, and the repair looks perfect. The level of communication I experienced with Mr. Noonan was exceptional. He communicated with me several times prior to the job and I always felt comfortable that he would do a good job.

I had a sheet of drain board installed over a waterproofing membrane to give it extra protection and to help the water drain, but the top was not well sealed to the concrete wall. Mr. Noonan advised the solution was to use a Hammer Drive tool (some call it a ramset) to attach the top of the drain board to the concrete wall. Mr. Noonan only came to survey the work was not scheduled to do the work that day, but since it was high priority for me he agreed to pick up the materials and complete the work on-the-spot. I can't thank him enough for completing this high priority item for me. He advised me of the proper solution and was flexible enough to get it done immediately for me because of the priority. I can't recommend him highly enough.

The house had accumulated mildew over the years and we thought that we would have to paint it in the near future. Joseph saw the mildew during a previous visit and mentioned that it would be best to get it off before we painted the house again. The thinking was that it would just bleed through the next paint job. In any case, he gave us a demonstration of what it would look like if it were cleaned and it was amazing. Once the column was clean the paint looked great! When he came back to clean the whole house he called a few days in advance to confirm that the date still worked for us and I asked whether he could clean that while he was here. He said he would bring his powerwasher and try. He came on time and got to work. He cleaned the house but wasn't sure if he could get the chimney really clean. He made a trip to get something that he though would get it clean. Once he was done with the house and chimney he told me he had a surprise. Joseph had power washed our extremely dingy patio. Everything looked amazing. Joseph always goes above and beyond. Most importantly, he delivers great results.. I really cannot say enough good things about him.

Joe is extremely responsive and professional. He is also a very nice person who spends the time to explain everything he is going to do to your home. He definately has a very strong work ethic and gives 110 percent when he does a job. One of the things that i really appreciated was that at the end of the job he provided me with a list of items that might need repair or attention in the not so distant future. He's not the cheapest handyman out there, but once you work with him you'll realize his services are well worth the money. I've already scheduled for him to come back in a few months to do some other jobs.

Joseph Noonan is the man. This is my second review, though I've hired him several different times. He comes out every six months or so and takes care of all the things about the house that keep me up at night and that I can't do myself. In the past this has including things like fixing our stuck water filter, chasing down and fixing leaks around the house, repairing ceiling stains, fixing broken floorboards, etc. If it bothers me, he can fix it. This time around it was sealing cracks / gaps in our brickwork and reparing / rebuilding a short border wall in the front of our house. He is tireless and just knocks everything out one-by-one. The wall looks great and he also had time to really clean up the landscaping in the middle of the wall. I am always amazed at how much he can get finished in a single day, and he is terrific to work with.
