He was prompt and courteous and very busy. He has high standards and I felt like he was highly conscientious and professional. While he was doing the work, he was always trying to protect the house and keep it in good order. His price was reasonable and I?ve been very pleased with all aspects of our relationship.

We called Mr. Noonan, based on previous positive reviews on Angie's List. He promptly came to our home to discuss the services we wanted, which initially included both interior and exterior work. He gave us a verbal quote and schedule of work, and we had several phone discussions to refine the plan. The quote seemed fair, and the work was scheduled to begin about 2 months later (his earliest availability). The initial phase of the work was to clear a ditchline between our home and a roadway, to remove the grass/sod, and to install landscaping fabric and mulch across the entire area, and the price was quoted at $1800 for labor and supplies. The second phase was to perform interior bath renovations. The third phase was to install a pad for a utility building, and to install wooden shutters on our house. After the problems in phase I, we discontinued the services. For Phase I, he arrived at the agreed time and began work. There was an unexpected issue - that the power company had extensively trimmed a tree and left a lot of debris. To deal with this, we had an industrial waste container on site; instead of using the container, Mr Noonan called for another contractor to come in a grind the debris. In the end, it looked great, but that's where the troubles start. Mr. Noonan told us that he wanted to charge extra for the debris removal, and that he wanted to significantly deviate from the original plan - rather than use a machine to remove sod, that he would apply weed killer and mulch only around existing shribs, rather than mulch the entire area. I told him, by phone that we did not think it would be attractive and that we wanted to stick with the original plan. However, when we got home from work the following day, he had done it "his way," and then spent the remainder of the day doing items not on our work list (mowing our yard, which I do myself; trimming weeds; bleaching the white sign post in front of our home and some of our porch railing; and cleaning the gutters, although most debris from the gutters was left on the ground). When I tried to discuss the issues, he was insistent that I had agreed with these plans and that he had done at least $1200 worth of work, but that he could now fulfill the original plan for an additional $1800. Recall that the original estimate for this phase was $1800. I am stunned that removal of some tree debris and mowing a yard could be construed as $1200 worth of work. At this point, I was so frustrated, I simply paid him the $1200 and told him to discontinue any work on our property. Overall, it was increadibly frustrating to deal with Mr. Noonan, as he would tell us something, then do something else. We brought him in to work, already having a plan in place, and he immediately and repeatedly tried to convince us to change the plan, either to "save money" or "save time." However, his suggestions to save money and time also meant altering the plan and/or using lower quality materials (for example, when I told him that we wanted wooden shutters, he argued that we should use vinyl; however, we have a custom-built colonial-style home and we wanted authentic materials. Surprisingly, he argued this point on several occasions, although I cannot understand why he was interested in changing the plan, when all we were asking from him was installation services. Same deal with our utility building [he wanted to use piers instead of a pad, even though the manufacturer specifies the need for a pad].) Mr. Noonan mentioned that he often works for realtors, adding "curb appeal" to a home that's on the market. I can see that... it seemed that his style was fast, cheap, and for appearance with little regard for quality. My only final comment - don't make the same mistake that I made.... get it in writing FIRST.

He did an outstanding job. In 2 days he fixed a dilapidated fence and painted it. He also added 3 gates with all the hardware. Placed a customized door on an opening from my basement to my crawlspace and painted my small basement space. He also cleaned up some brush and cleaned my gutters on my garage. He even hung some bathroom cabinets. I may have missed something he works like a Tasmanian devil in reverse and in general anything else he could find to do he did. I was impressed and he did it for a great price in my book.

Joe and his friend did a great job! They were friendly and resourceful, and paid attention to details. Joe was also careful to take into consideration quality vs. value to keep things within our budget.

To begin with, Joe called me back that very first day I called. We set an appointment for him to come to the house to see what was what. He was here that day and time he said. I took the next time available on his schedule and he was here then. Joe and I talked several times before the work date and he was always patient and supportive as I worked through my best options. I highly recommend Joe to anyone.

I've used him many times over two years and have never been disappointed.
