Description of Work: We had a rusted water pipe in the crawlspace under our kitchen at our rental property. Because it was from the kitchen sink - and it went unreported by our tenants - the odor in the house was overwhelming. | |H&L called back within 15 minutes and made time the next morning to come assess the damage. That responsiveness meant the world to me. | |After crawling under the house, Jr. made plans to come spray antimicrobial chemicals to get the bacteria under control. In addition, he brought in a dehumidifier, fans and an air scrubber to start neutralizing the smell. His final step was encapsulating the crawl space to prevent moisture and mold in the future. | |I will definitely hire them in the future!

They were incredibly responsive on the Friday after Christmas, driving from a job they finished in Williamsburg all the way to Richmond that afternoon. They came when they said they would be here, right on time. Explained everything that they had to do, and how long the machines would be set up and run for. They came back to clean up their machines when they said they would, and the invoice was sent promptly. Additionally they took pictures for our insurance company, and provided copies of those to the adjuster. It was an excellent experience, and helped make the mistake that I made as easy to get through as possible.
Description of Work: They provided dehumidifiers and fans to dry out water damage caused by an overflowing sink.

Great experience
Description of Work: I had water damage from a leak under the bathroom sink that required taking up the tile floor, cutting into the walls to ensure no mold/water had spread, and drying the floor from inside and underneath the house. I called SEVERAL companies here on Angie's List and in the yellow pages. I was either bounced around from company to company ("we can't fit you in, but a partner company of ours can") or never received calls back. When I called H&L, Mrs. Piggott answered immediately and Mr. Piggott was there the very next day at our home (he would have been there same day, but I wasn't able to accommodate that). Mr. Piggott answered all my questions, was punctual and really thorough. He was clean, took away all the garbage and is really a pleasant person to work with. Best of all though, I was glad to help a family owned business and his work was really professional . I don't have a lot of experience with pricing these things, but my insurance company (USAA) said the estimate was really reasonable.

He did an excellent job. He cleaned, treated, replaced insulation and secured vents against humidity. We were very pleased. The price was lower than most of the estimates that we got, and we had other contractors that worked in our house and they commented on how clean our crawlspace was.
Description of Work: He did fungus remediation in our crawlspace.
