Description of Work: He designed a plan for an addition in my house.

+ -1 moreMr. Boyd came over the very next day, and he quickly performed calculations on load, etc. He was extremely responsive to our concerns and gave us several alternative solutions, one of which exceeded our expectations as to aesthetics. When we have need of an architect for a bigger job someday, he will certainly be called again.
Description of Work: Consulted on the removal/replacement of a structural beam that spanned a ceiling. Contractor thought the beam was cosmetic (so did we), so he tried to remove it. But it was discovered that the beam was structural after all. Asked Mr. Boyd to help us out on an emergency basis to figure out what to do.

+ -1 moreHe is very clever at designing in a way that blends with your existing home. He's also very quick in his turnaround of designs. While he would come up with clever ideas, he was also very good with going along with what 'you' the customer wanted.
Description of Work: He designed the addition & the basement remodeling for our home.
