Description of Work: We have used United Air Temp to maintain and service our heating and AC systems. They have always done an excellent job and always give us a detailed receipt describing the work being performed. In the last three years they have replace both the heating and AC systems. we were very satisfied.

Description of Work: DO NOT EVER USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. A service call was scheduled for an AC failure. I was told that technicians could come out the following day but an exact time could not be given. I was informed that I would be on the schedule between 9am and midnight. MIDNIGHT, WHO DOES BUSINESS LIKE THIS AT MIDNIGHT???? Anyway, with 2 young kids in a house that was 90 degrees, I agreed. The following day we waited...and waited...and waited. I called customer service at 6pm to find out of a more exact time frame could be given, and was told that they would come when they could, and if I didn't want to wait I could cancel. Well, since it was now 6 and we waited since 9am, we waited more...and waited. NOBODY EVER ARRIVED AND NOBODY CALLED. I contacted customer service at 9am, and the representative named POINSETTA, told me "too bad", and then she said somebody could come between 2 and 4 that day. Well, we work so that was impossible, which is what I told Poinsetta. She told me that she offered me a solution and that if I dont like it, I could use another company. I asked to speak with supervisors and was passed around until Poinsetta was back on the phone. NO HELP! WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!!!

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived early in the pre-scheduled 2-hour time window. The technician introduced himself and I led him to the thermostat, then to the basement to the interior heat pump unit. I left the technician to check and maintain the unit. I told him I was upstairs if he needed me. He shortly came up stairs and I directed him to the outside unit. He prepared and explained the invoice.
Description of Work: They to let me know that the technician was in route 10-minutes prior to his arrival. The technician performed the semi-annual spring maintenance check of our heat pump. The technician checked and serviced the interior unit. Then performed a check and service of the exterior unit. He verified that the digital thermometer was functioning properly. The technician prepared an invoice detailing what checks and services performed. He took the time to explain all that had been performed and the status of the components of the heat pump.

+ -1 moreI called them on Wednesday to schedule service and they arrived when scheduled on Friday. The technician was very friendly and polite. He diagnosed the problem fairly quickly as being due to low freon pressure in the system. He recharged the A/C with freon and tested that the system was holding the pressure without any leaks. He advised that they would return to re-test the pressure. Technician took less than one hour to fix the issue and restore the system. The $60 charge was our deductible fee for the warranty service. As they were very easy to work with and schedule service I would definitely recommend them and call them in the future if I had any additional problems.
Description of Work: Our A/C unit stopped working and our home appliance warranty service contracts with United Air Temp for service.

+ -1 moreI have a service contract and a furnace warranty w/United Air Temp in Vienna, VA. Last month, my furnace motor died. A tech came and told me he could replace the standard motor for "free" (on account of the furnace warranty, which includes parts + labor) or an "upgrade green motor" for $499. He told me and my husband AT LEAST 3 TIMES that the upgrade motor had an 8 year unconditional warranty, which has turned out to be false. The warranty is actually 5 years. The manager denied that his tech told us 8 years and suggested that there was a "miscommunication," which basically implies that I, the customer, cannot understand English or am lying about the whole thing. He refused to take any responsibility for the fact that his tech was either incompetent or dishonest (more likely the latter). Beware United Air Temp's hard sell tactics. As soon as my service contracts are up, United Air Temp has lost this customer forever.

+ -1 moreI will give them high marks on everything. I appreciate their salesmanship from professional perspective because there was not even one time when they tried to up-sell things to us. They come up at the time they say they will and they clean up after themselves. They were very professional.
