Mike is amazing. We did the first floor remodel over a year ago now. We wanted to replace the range hood. I ordered it off of Amazon and Mike installed it at no charge for me. He continues to impress us. We plan on using Mike to remodel our 2nd floor soon. I would not use anyone else.

Our experience with The Model Home Look was exceptional. We love our new kitchen and are hoping to be able to move on to bathrooms with them in 2017. Wanted to share the letter we wrote to Mike and Kristine upon completion of the project. Dear Mike and Kristine, Now that the "dust has settled" (literally!) and we have had a few weeks to use our new kitchen, I just wanted to reach out and thank you both so much for the amazing job performed by you and your support workers. We absolutely couldn't be happier with the kitchen from the design to the beautiful cabinets to the wonderful workmanship and of course the gorgeous island! I really appreciated your patience during the planning process. The fact that I am a rookie when it comes to home remodeling must have made things more challenging on your end. I can honestly say that all that time paid off - at least on my end. We wouldn't change one thing!! After going through this process, I have even more respect for the difficult job of being a contractor. It can't be easy working with grumpy homeowners who are dying to get their house back - especially when both work from home. Mike - I have to say that you have the perfect temperament for this challenging part of your job. It is also evident that you have developed amazing relationships and a high level of mutual respect with your workers. A special thanks to Kristine - just so impressed with her oversight of the project and keeping us informed every step of the way. Callie is missing you so we'll have to gear up for another project soon! Thank you again for everything and we hope you both have a wonderful holiday season!

We initially purchased the Angies list offering for a consultation and 3-D images for a kitchen remodeling. The response was very prompt, professional and friendly. Mr Ford considered our ideas and incorporated our views. He also noted what ideas may not work well and the reasons, and offered suggestions. We received he design drawings, and 3-D images were especially valuable to envision the final project. We also asked for some revisions to the plan, and received these quickly. Overall, we were very happy with our experience and would rate the initial experience as an A However, after many weeks (due to the holidays and some personal issues), we decided we wanted to further discuss the renovation plans and move forward. We met Mike Ford in his office, and discussed the type of flooring, counters and cabinets we wanted. Some alterations were also made to the original drawings. Mr Ford wanted a $1000 retainer at that point. I requested a preliminary estimate of the cost first before signing a retainer to ensure that these plans would still fit within our budget. Although he seemed initially reluctant to do this, he did agree to send us a preliminary estimate of the total costs, including the cost of optional items, such as a new window. Over a week passed and we never receive the estimate. I called and spoke to Mr Ford. He said he was on his way to the office and would put something together. We still have not heard from him, and its been at least two weeks since the call. Based on the lack of communication, I no longer feel confident about this company. We made two visits to the office, and spent several hours with Mr Ford. I feel he wasted our time and his.

Service.was prompt and professional. He listened to our ideas, and also provided valuable input. 3-D drawings were also provided which made it so much easier to visualize changes

They never even contacted me to come for the viewing of the Kitchen

The Model Home Look's staff were very responsive, professional and helpful. They set up a convenient appointment time and Mike Ford arrived at the appointed time. He was very knowledgeable and provided us with practical suggestions to solve some thorny design problems for a long, but relatively narrow bathroom. His use of computerized visualizations throughout the design process also helped us visualize what the design would look like and helped further the design process. After the meeting, he provided us with a PDF floorplan and about a half dozen visualizations from different perspectives. The "BIg Deal" price was well below what we would expect to pay other designers. We would recommend this firm to others. We have not visited their showroom, but intend to do so in the future.

The workmanship was high quality, and the workers were very professional and dedicated to their craft. The owner made a point of visiting the site periodically which instilled confidence that he cared about the work performed by his foreman and crew. The project manager was fully engaged, approachable, and very responsive. The foreman did a great job of overseeing his guys and subcontractors to ensure the work was done in a timely and quality fashion. The cabinet maker demonstrated top quality workmanship and skill on the custom cabinets and my barn door. I highly valued the communication and follow-up demonstrated throughout the project and would highly recommend this company.

What Mike designed didn't work. We requested a follow up meeting multiple times but he missed every single one.

He came pretty quickly, but the service provided was fairly worthless to us. He looked at our kitchen and redesigned it, but he basically just did what I mentioned I saw at other houses, instead of doing something original and new. He spent most of the time just talking about his hobbies, and then he got to the end of his hour and just bolted; we felt like we had wasted $99. He jawboned a long time about how important he is and how he used to do all these great things, most of the time was taken up not doing what he was there for, though he did give us some valuable information.

Services were rendered very quickly and professionally. Attention to detail was very good and, as a whole, was impressed by their services.

The consultation was professional and pleasant, and the designer drew the kitchen layout we had come up with. We were a bit disappointed that he didn't suggest alternatives except to move our microwave, and then did not come up with a place to move it to other than into a lower cabinet. (Note that a kitchen contractor we later had in for bids did come up with a layout modification that was reasonable, so we know there was room for creativity.) Also, the design we were sent initially did not include the view in and out of the kitchen where we plan to take down a wall, which we considered very important. When we asked the company to add those views, they did eventually (after 2 requests--I think they were just really busy) do that. Overall, The Model Home Look was easy to work with and the drawings looked good. However, since The Model Home Look does not do the cabinet refacing we needed, the relationship ended there. Was it worth the $99 consult fee? I would say yes, since it gave us a better idea of what the changes would look like and we were able to use the drawings in talking to other companies for bids.

The time frame for completion was estimated to be from 6-8 weeks. The crew completed it in 4&1/2 weeks. All the work was efficient and of high quality. The crew took pains to keep dust to a minimum. At no time during the project did I feel that our job was falling through any cracks. Everyone involved kept me in the loop day to day, took time to consult with me on site, and always left me with information on what was to happen the next day. There was no wasted time nor unnecessary delays. Project manager, Kristine, was so on top of things that she often was acting before I even finished voicing the thought. Mike was often on site to check in and chat. The entire crew was pleasant to work with. I can honestly say that working with these folks was fun. We enjoyed collaborating with each other. It is clear to me that this group genuinely cares about the quality of their work, and the satisfaction of their clients. We have already begun to work with Mike on our next renovation.

After the first visit, we talked to a bunch of friends and neighbors and started staring at everybody's kitchen. We got some ideas on how to modify the first design. The second time out, he was at his office and we were at our house with the laptop open and as we were talking to each other, we could see him make the changes we discussed on to those plans. Then, he sends along an email that has pictures of all the different views both rough sketch, ground plan and rendered.

It was great. They came out shortly there after. They were entirely flexible with our schedule. The guy talked with us about what kind of design options seemed like they would work in our kitchen. He had with him his laptop and on the spot, he created both ground plans and rendered views of what it might look like. It was just $99 and we were allowed free designs.

Mike was very professional and had some great ideas. He took his time and didn't seem rushed. Don't have any complaints about the process at all.

Addition: It took a while and some persistence on my part (see first review) but I am quite satisfied with the final product.

They just came out for the estimate, I didn't follow through. It was okay. I would use them again in future. They were supposed to provide me with some kind of written specification but I don't think that I ever received that. They were supposed to provide a detailed plan. I decided not to do the project anyway, I didn't follow through very much. They could have provided the plan in order to get an A rating.

He was very professional and gracious and considered my budget in the plan.

Had a great meeting. Provider evaluated the kitchen space and offered suggestions to best utilize the kitchen. Angie's list offer was not a sales pitch.

It went well. I wish he could have come up with some more original ideas though.

It was okay. I am not sure who is at fault. I booked them because I really didn't know what I wanted for a kitchen, I was using them do research and figure out what was possible. I feel like they expected me to know every detail of what I wanted. I couldn't take the conversation very far because he was frustrated with me because I didn't know what I wanted. Maybe I was supposed to have known, I don't know. It put me off a little bit so I will never use them again.

Everything went well. I was very pleased with the presentation that he did.

They came here really fast but after they did a design I was expecting for them to give me a quote or send me an email. They only sent me the design and they were quick with the design but the followup for them to see how much it is going to be and to answer my email when I asked them about... like they were going to send me an estimate or how it is going to work, it took like 2-3 weeks to answer the email but the design was perfect. It looks like on the office part, wasn't that great because it took like 2-3 weeks for them to answer the email. To be honest, they sent me later an email saying, oh you know what, no, we are not going to send you, you have to come to our place on a scheduled visit and we are going to talk about it. But after the 2-3 weeks that I was waiting, I didn't want to do it anymore. I didn't want to go and do anything with them. The Deal was great. The design was good, the guy that came was good but they didn't followup. I don't want to say that it is bad but it is not that great either.
