The service only cost the big deal of $99. He was very nice and was just there to give me a general idea of what we could do and how much it was going to cost. It was nothing specific. The designs were good. They were nice. He gave me a few ideas that I did not think about.

That was fine. The gentleman came and I wanted to have drawings done. I'm not sure if you would call it drawings, but he did on his computer. I wanted it for a condo kitchen. I needed to submit it to the board so they would allow renovations to take place. He did everything I asked him to do. The issue with this one is he was looking for custom home business; this is what he has. For him, the interest of doing what I needed was minimal because it didn't drum up business. It was just a service for whatever the Angie's List was, but he did it. He did it well and did everything I asked him to. It was what I wanted for the price and I'm perfectly satisfied. The price was fair. He needs good reviews and he did his job. I would use him again if I was going to be doing custom home design.

Mike was very responsive and was able to quickly make an appointment to come look at my kitchen for a possible remodel. He arrived on time and we got down to work. He was very patient with my questions and walked through my ideas and made suggestions. He took measurements and then drew up a rough plan to ensure we were both talking about the same changes. This was a great experience and I really liked the photo realistic drawings he sent.

Overall, The Model Home Look did an incredible job at a very affordable price! They always provided exceptional service, as well as improved both the function and design of both of our bathrooms. We are extremely happy that we chose them, and would definitely recommend them in the future for any bathroom remodeling, as well as for hallway and drywall painting, and for replacing several six-panel doors.

We had a great experience. Mike and his crew were so very professional. We just love the new bathroom. The price may seem high, but we used only highest of quality of marble, vanity with granite countertop, gorgeous shower doors. The price was as quoted and we feel wee were priced very fairly. We definitely would hire The Model Home Look again.

Overall it went very well. Mike called me early in the morning to let me know that he was running a little late. It didn't bother me at all and I appreciated the heads up. Once he arrived he was very friendly and started working right away. After about 30 minutes of taking measurements and inputting them into the computer. We sat down and played around with the layout. I had an idea of what I wanted and he made suggestions along the way. I'm currently waiting for an estimate and will likely go with The Model Home Look if I decide to move forward with the project.

The $111 only gets you a one-time visit to discuss your options. This was fine.

Mike is friendly, professional and very creative. From start to finish, he was interested in our ideas and suggestions and incorporated them into his design drawings and specs. He provided a complete set of computer generated pictures and architectural drawings in one day. He also does remodeling and construction work and can give pricing/bids for the work.

The experience and outcome were great. I particularly appreciated Mike's patience and willingness to listen as I rambled on-and-on about what I wanted, showed him endless clippings of kitchens I liked, and threw out one idea after another. Mike was candid and, based on his extensive experience, told me what he thought would work and probably would not. We were immediately on the "same page" and were then able to discuss structural challenges in the existing space and how to overcome them to achieve the aesthetic look I wanted. We also had an fruitful discussion on potential materials for the countertops, backsplash, and floor, along with the brand of appliances I had in mind. Mike followed up our meeting the next day with an email that had a floor plan and a digital image of how the renovated kitchen would look. I could not have been more pleased. The consultation exceeded my high expectations.

I bought a house in December with the intent of building living quarters in the basement and moving my mother into the main floor. The area was a blank canvas. After speaking with several contractors, it remained a blank canvas and I just didn't know where to start. I found a designer on Angie's list who then brought in Mike Ford and his team from The Model Home Look, I now had the "A" team helping me. They began with a layout for a bedroom with a walk-in closet, full size bathroom, living area, dining area, and a full wet bar with storage. Mike and his team stayed within budget while giving me as many bells and whistles that he could...and that was a lot! One of my hardest decisions was the hardwood floor. My budget just could not afford what I was looking for. After going back and forth I finally settled on laminate. Not ideal but it was what I could get for the price. Mike, going the extra mile, showed up one Sunday afternoon with one other option for me to look at. He found it, he found the floor I wanted for a fraction of the price. It was quite clear that Mike and his team take pride in their work. They made me feel like I was their highest priority and repeatedly told me that they just needed to know that I was happy with their work. I highly recommend The Model Home Look, Mike and his team are talented and definitely care about their clients. If anyone is looking to have a professional renovation with the confidence that it will be done, within budget, and with great care...look no more, just call The Model Home Look and they will take care of you.

Mike Ford is committed to providing customers with a detailed plan of exactly what it will take to complete a remodeling job. His Angie's List deal includes about an hour of in-home consultation time plus follow-up information in the form of a floor plan and suggested suppliers, e.g., Signature Hardware. If you have questions about the process--which I did--the best thing to do is to ask Mike directly. He is committed to working through any concerns, which he did with me.

So all I can comment on is what Mike was hired for and that was to come in and do a lay out for our new kitchen . He did such a good job of that, that we hired his company to do the actual work.

Mike Ford arrived on schedule and was very professional in providing this service. We did not feel rushed at any point. He listened to our master bath problem areas and discussed alternatives to assess our style and interests. He took precise measurements and worked interactively with us on a software program for bathroom design. He showed us pictures of work done by his firm that was very similar to what we were looking for. The session gave us plenty to think about and an idea of cost. Bottom line is that this coupon offer is not a detailed quote or design but a good starting place and well worth the money for us. If we were to continue with Mike, we would enter into a $1,500 retainer agreement that would generate a detailed estimate that includes his support selecting specific hardware, tile, and other materials along with a detailed plan. The full retainer would then apply to the cost of the project if we were to proceed with The Model Home Look.

The designer/contractor came and did an excellent job with computer in hand, discussed various options, provided us with a plan from which to begin thinking about our kitchen renovation. Professional, punctual, and knowledgeable.

Mike was great from the start and very easy to work with. He came out to our house, took a few measurements and loaded our kitchen into his software. From there, we were able to try out a variety of ideas with our space and see them as renderings. We really appreciated his input and ideas and would recommend him to anyone considering doing a kitchen remodel.

Gentleman was on time and professional. Came up with a plan which we reviewed and discussed. Said he'd email me the plan, which he did after I reminded him once. I also asked for an estimate of what it would cost to do the kitchen renovation with several styles of cabinets. While promised twice, I'm still waiting.

The experience was extremely positive. He showed up on time and ready to get to work. He listened to what our needs were regarding the space and explained any constraints to our plans. We did an initial measurement and design in the computer program and then redesigned the space a number of times, taking additional measurement to ensure the model was accurate. The mock-ups were emailed promptly and I was extremely pleased with the entire process.

Mike Ford came out and gave some useful suggestions and used the design software on his laptop to design a new kitchen. I am looking to remodel soon and really appreciated his help. Very friendly and professional.

When we saw the oppotunity for bath/kitchen design assitance at a very reasonable rate, my wife and i decided it was worth investing a few dollars to get some help. My wife and I have discussed what we wanted for 5 years regarding our master bathroom/closet, but were not able to come to any agreement. Not being structural engineers, our lack of experience prevented us from really understanding what the possibilities might really be. Mike arrive on-time, listened to our desire, and spend a significant amount of time with us, in the space, playing the what it game. By doing so, he presented several solutions we never considered. We then sat with him at his computer, he used a program that provided us with numerous versions of possible solutions. It was extremely helpful to see what would actually fit in certain spaces. Mike was very curteous, and professional This was time and money well spent.

Mike Ford contacted me right away to arrange a time to meet, and he arrived exactly as planned. He listened well, and reflected my preferences in a mockup while still with me, so we could tweak the plan. Took about 90 minutes. Within a day, he sent me a more exact measured floorplan for what we had discussed and a simple computer-generated color sketch of what it could look like. He was very easy to talk to and provided me with advice about costs behind each of the ideas. I especially appreciated the fact that this was really an initial consultation as promised, and there was no pressure to start talking contracts right away on such a big project. Well worth the $99, because it will ultimately make actual design work more efficient down the road.
