We had purchased a big deal for the service. They did a really good job. It was thorough and exactly what we needed. They gave us a video rendition of our options.

I got the coupon for a kitchen design. The guy came over and we talked a little about what I was looking to do and he sent me design.

Some good ideas but the measurements were not accurate so the diagrams were not accurate. The rep took other phone calls while consulting with me. Didn't feel like I got my money's worth.

This "consultation" was little more than a marketing ploy to secure a contract to remodel our kitchen. It provided little in the way of useful advice or information. Update: They called and were very unhappy about my original C rating, arguing that it was not their company's quality that was the problem but that the services provided by the AL Big Deal were not what we needed. Maybe.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. They were helpful and informative but I have not done the project so I did not hire them. The person who came out was professional.

It went okay. They came after I set up the appointment. It's been determined that we have the ultimate layout, so we don't need to make any changes to our layout.

Mike was great. Easy to talk to, up-front about the services he can offer and full of good ideas. We were very pleased with the service we received.

Knowledgeable about what will sell in area, possible design options

They were initially responsive and came an looked at the kitchen. But after that one meeting, where he spent a lot of the time inputting into his computer, I got a rough computer generated layout for the kitchen based on some preliminary ideas. It was not attractive and didn't incorporate a lot of the things we discussed, and moreover, there didn't seem to be any interest in doing the work or followup at all. i contacted him to ask questions, and discuss the design, and never heard back. Looking into other companies, I found that I got the same thing for free as part of the bid process, and had a lot more info and thought put into it. This was a waste of money. I liked the guy, and he seemed to know kitchens. It may be that he was overwhelmed with requests because of the coupon. But it was not a good use of my time and money.

I purchased the big deal from Angie's List. I felt like I had probably done a lot of it myself. It wasn't the greatest deal in my opinion. I felt like there are a lot of people who would do that kind of thing even for free just to come by and give an estimate. The guy Mike was very nice but I didn't see a tremendous amount of value in the deal. He came out as advertised but the actual design help and the result I thought I could have got that anyway on my own with apps where I could do online like take measurements and sort of do my own layout. It was a quick turnaround. I don't think I had any issues with the time frame. He was good but the result wasn't worth it.

First Mike and I discussed in general what I was looking to do in the kitchen. As Mike measured my kitchen and entered the data into the software program we discussed finishings and appliances and Mike was able to share examples of kitchens he had worked on to help inspire me Once the measurement s were loaded we starters playing with different configurations, moving a wall, adding cabinets, putting desired appliances in different places. I didn't realize I could have wall ovens! Mike explained every step of the design decisions we made together and brought up construction considerations that should be taken into account. I am very excited to implement my new kitchen design.

I purchased an Angie’s List Big Deal for this service and it turned out really well. The guy came and sat down with me. I told him what I wanted in terms of a bathroom. He drew it up and showed me a three-dimensional walk-through of what it would look like. It looked really good so I went to the permit office in D.C. and they said it was fine. He was very responsive and professional. I plan to use him again in the future to remodel my kitchen.

The work was done professionally and on-time. Unfortunately, Brian was not able to bid on the job as he would have been able to meet my timeframe.

I was disappointed that Mr. Ford took so long to get the design renderings sent to me. Took a couple of calls from me to get the email with the design recommendation. I wasn't really impressed with the one design option he gave me but he did live up to the coupon details. After talking to me about my budget, I think Mr. Ford wrote us off as potential customers and made minimal effort to solicit my business. Guess we were not a big enough fish for him to bother with. I'm sure his company does good work but his demeanor made me felt like I was wasting his time.

Mike was very professional, pleasant and helpful. He had good ideas for our bathroom renovation and we enjoyed our meeting with him. If I ever get my act in order, he will be at the top of my short list for the work.

It went very well. It was good to have a different set of eyes looking at the possibilities for the remodeling of our home. The renditions that he was able to send us via email have captured what was discussed, and gives us a lasting picture of what exactly was done.

He arrived late. He took measurements for our kitchen remodel. We have not heard from him since.

We had one contact with Model Home by phone. There was never a call back to us. The next time I tried to contact by phone, I was unable to because the mailbox was full. Model home never has contacted us back again.....completely dissatisfied.

I don't mean to bad mouth this gentleman. He was very pleasant and we had a conversation of some value about the bathroom remodel in question. It's just that I received similar information from other contractors as part of their estimate and there was no charge. I feel a little silly having paid for information that was readily available to me for free, including drawings.

I was very pleased with the service that Mr. Ford provided. He was very pleasant and professional and took a considerable amount of time to talk with me about my needs and priorities before beginning the development of a redesign proposal. The plan and pictures he shared with me provided an extremely helpful perspective on what a renovated bathroom would look like. I also appreciated his honest assessment of the costs and timing of such a project, and options we could consider to keep such a renovation within my budget. I highly recommend Mr. Ford and The Model Home Look to anyone considering a bathroom renovation and will strongly consider using his company to perform the actual renovation work should I decide to move forward with the project.

Mike got in touch with me as soon as I purchased the Angie's List special ($100 for a one-hour design consultation), which was very impressive. It was very easy to set up an appointment because Mike was very accommodating. However, I was a bit disappointed in the service I got. The reason I resorted to a design consultation was that my bathroom is odd-shaped and I wanted some ideas as to how to remodel it. The software Mike was using seemed very basic, we never got to a satisfactory design. Mike said he would continue to work on it and send me a finished design but I never received anything, except an invitation to use his firm's services to renovate my bathroom. The reason I am giving this provider a D rating is that I don't think I got my money's worth. It was a waste of time and money. UPDATE: Mike called me after reading my review. He said he had sent me the design plans and I confirmed I had not received them. We agreed they had probably gotten lost in cyberspace... A few days later I received design plans for my bathroom that looked rather good. Unfortunately in the meantime we had to change our plans because of condo regulations that did not allow some of the changes we had envisaged. I have revised my rating upward to reflect Mike's follow-up.

The Model Home Look is helping us with a kitchen remodel. We had a slight miscommunication in the beginning of the contract process. However, it was nothing that couldn't be fixed. Mike Ford is very professional and takes appropriate steps to address any issues. We are still in the remodel process, but so far so good. We have confidence that we will have a beautiful finished kitchen with high quality work.

Mike helped us think a little out of the box and came up with a new design for our kitchen. We needed somebody to give us direction and an idea and he did that. Very positive experience.
