Workers were expected between 8 and 10. They called a few minutes before 10 to say they were almost here. So they arrived pretty close to 10. I asked what they would do and they explained. They got to work and called me to look partway through, probably because the tiles are patterned and the grout is gray, so it might be hard to tell if they were clean. They did a good job., I have no complaints.

They did a great job and the house was fully move out ready when they were done. In addition, they managed to do the work even though the water had been turned off that morning due to repair work on the exterior water line (which wasn't supposed to happen until the next day). They were running a number of price specials and if we had the time to separate the work into separate jobs (and use multiple coupons), then we would have gotten a bit of a better price. Still, their price was good and fair for the work.

After calling in advance of arrival, Johnnie and Teshawn arrived on time, assessed work to be done and immediately set to it. I had 2 "beige" office-type chairs (upholsterd back cushion, seat cushion, and padded arm rests) that we have used in our kitchen nook for over 30 years. They definitely showed the wear and were, well, disgusting. Johnnie and Teshawn took the chair outside to avoid any issues working on the chairs indoors. Within the hour, the 2 chairs looked like new! I did not expect such astonishing results. Both Johnnie and Teshawn were extremely cordial, very professional, clearly took pride in their work. And they even put on "booties" to bring the chairs indoors, up the stairs, and back into our kitchen. Would I use this provider again? Absolutely. First call to departure, these guys were 1st class! (And I am picky!)

They arrived on time and finished within two hours of their projected leave time.

They did a terrific job. I was really happy with the work. They actually stayed longer than what we agreed to, which was great.

I am very pleased with my experience with Smart Choice. My beige ultasuede sofa and chair were covered with stains from pets and kids. The tech told us he wasn't sure if he'd be able to get the stains out -- but he did. I've used many other upholstery cleaning firms in the past , but I've never been more satisfied with the results. I will use Smart Choice again soon to clean my oriental rugs.

The scheduling process seemed very efficient, and the office sent an email with specific instructions on how to prepare for their visit, as well as after-care information. Of note, they stated: - Computer equipment, china cabinets, sectional sofas, entertainment centers, antique and fragile furniture cannot be moved. - During the pre-inspection walk-through with your technicians, please advise them of any special requirements to follow when moving your furniture such as weak legs, loose tops or previous repairs. - Please leave your plastic "tabs" and "blocks" under your furniture for 48 hours after cleaning. Based on this we assumed the technicians would move small furniture such as end tables, a loveseat, a chair and a non-sectional sofa and then put them back in place with protective tabs or blocks after cleaning. This is what every other carpet cleaning business has done in the past. We did move fragile glass-topped tables to another room not being cleaned, and removed all objects from the smaller furniture we expected them to move in order to clean the carpet beneath them and them put back into place. When we began the walk-through with the technician, he immediately told us they do not move any furniture, period. We pointed out what the instructions from the office stated, but he refused to move ANYTHING. Thank goodness my husband was home that day and could quickly spring into action to move the small furniture into adjacent rooms that were not being cleaned. As we were doing this, the technician seemed frustrated and asked how long we were going to take to move things, because they did not have time to wait. We asked which area they would be starting in, and we moved things from that room first in order to accommodate their impatience. We were finished with our task in about five minutes. Since we were now responsible for returning the small furniture to their proper places after cleaning was complete, we asked the technician to leave a supply of tabs or blocks for us to place under the items we put back into the rooms. Although they said they would, they did not, and we did not realize this until they were gone. Professionalism and consistency with company-stated instructions aside, we were generally pleased with the cleanliness of the carpets and the time it took them to dry. Although the technician was not able to remove some of the stains, we weren't sure they would come out, so we can't find fault with that. But based solely on the attitude of the technician, we will not use this company next time.

I purchased a coupon for $249 that included carpet cleaning for 6 - 9 rooms. When I called to set up my appointment I added two sofas and a loveseat. I was asked if i had a coupon for that and when I stated I didn't know there was one, she looked it up for me and applied it. The savings made my jaw drop! Smart Choice called a couple of days in advance to confirm and on the day of called to say they would be here in half an hour. They arrived on time, walked through to assess the work and to my surprise did not spring extra charges on us. One sofa and loveseat could not be cleaned due torequiring dry clean only. Our final bill was adjusted to reflect you. Johnny and his partner were quick, professional and friendly. They did an awesome job and I would definitely use them again. By the way, we have two girls and a cat who sometimes "thinks outside the box"- if you know what I mean and my youngest daughter should have been named Spilligan. It's been more than 12 years since we had the carpets professionally cleaned - I thought I would pay a fortune!

They came on time and spent the allowed time on the project. It was really hard to keep track of all 3 workers. There was no flexibility in it all. The lack of common language.

Team was punctual, three hard working individuals. Manager came by midway to check on progress. Was updated before, during and after service by hqs customer service rep. This was post-Sandy, but there was no interruption in service or rescheduling needed. Well done.

They did a great job! An hour after they left my dog actually got sick on the carpet and they came right back out and didn't charge me full price to clean the area again, making one of those really good experiences!

Beginning with the call to the company and ending with the completion of the carpet cleaning, it was a good, positive experience. I called Smart Choice and at least three other companies on Angie's List. They were not the cheapest, but we were comfortable with the discussion with the company about how the services would be performed. They were able to clean the carpet the next day and did a great job. Johnny called before they arrived, cleaned the carpets thoroughly, including pre-treating some trouble spots. We were very pleased with the service. We will use them again.

I purchased six manhours of cleaning as part of a Big Deal. They came exactly on time and got right to work. The house was especially dirty from a construction project. By the time they left, it sparkled. I was so pleased. I wish I could afford them all the time!

I first started using their services after I purchased a Big Deal for their service. They are pretty good! They are timely and do a good job. They are certainly well worth the cost. They take instructions and they are good at reminding me of the appointments a day or two in advance so that I can expect their arrival.

When I originally contacted Smart Choice, a man answered the answered the phone. The person I needed to get a quote from was not in, but he promptly returned my call. The estimate I received over the phone was the end price. The two men showed up on time and were professional. I know they probably had to vacuum the furniture longer than usual, I have two cats. My one complaint was that they did not ask if I had any stains/spots that needed attention, I forgot until after they left.

Their cleaning was not up to par. The coupon was for 4 hours, but they did not even as well as my wife and I can in that same amount of time.

I bought a Groupon / Living Social deal (can't remember which) but did the dilligence of checking them out on Angie's list first. The cleaning crew showed up a little behind schedule but with three people instead of two in order to make up for lost time. Overall I was very satisfied with the job the cleaning crew did. My entire house (all three levels) had a fresh and clean smell to it for days afterward. Communication was a small issue but it was worked out. Overall I would highly recommend them.

Could not get good sense of estimate. This is the only service I have encountered that gives you an estimate over the phone. I appreciate the convenience of not having to be home for them to do a walk through to provide an estimate. But I am perplexed at how they do the estimates over the phone. If someone gives you an estimate over the phone I would expect them to ask questions like "what is the sqft of your home?, how many bedrooms? how many bathrooms?, how often will you be getting it cleaned?, and do you have a cleaning service now?". However, they asked none of these questions. They said it is $95/hr. When I asked how I would know how long it would take to clean my house, they said it takes 2 hours. huh? How could they know how long it takes to clean my house without knowing how large it is or how many rooms, or what kind of condition it is, or how often I will be getting it cleaned? I tried to explain that the time it takes to clean a 1000 sqft townhouse and a 4000 sqft townhouse is a lot different (assuming the same amount of cleaners). So how could she tell me for sure it could be 2 hours? I didn't know if the price could be $95 or $400. Sorry, but I cannot just leave it up to chance on how much I will pay. That is the whole point of an estimate, right?

The finished job was adequate but not exceptional.

They did a great job. My sofa and love seat looked must better that they did before. I would recommend them to others. My sister also used them and had a similarly good experience.

They weren't thorough at all. I had to ask them to redo a lot, and eventually just gave up and accepted that it was going to be sub-standard clean. They basically wiped everything with a cloth and if it didn't come off then it stayed dirty. I did tell the office that I wasn't satisfied and they had to redo most of it and they didn't charge me the extra time it took.

Dealings with the office and owner were prompt and pleasant. The two cleaners came as scheduled and were professional and friendly, and they seemed to work hard--all the way to the edges. To be fair, our carpets were exceedingly dirty--the product of many years of galloping kids--and we'd thought about just replacing them. There were significant stains in some areas. The team worked about two hours, pre-treating the carpet and steaming. The result was better, no doubt about that. While they were working, I could easily see the difference between areas cleaned and those not yet cleaned. However, as the carpet dried in the following day or two, old stains re-emerged. I went after the remaining stains myself several days later (with much better results!) using a home oxy spray. And while the stairway (which had been embarrassingly dirty) was much improved, I noticed in coming up the steps that the dirty water from the top of each step had seeped back down onto the face of each step below, leaving some grubby residue. The berber carpet is a light color, so it shows if you are paying attention. Sigh. All in all, I give them a C. Very nice people, and, to be fair, I did not call afterward to give them this feedback. Our carpet is indisputably cleaner than it was, but whatever they are using for stain removal is not nearly as effective as the cleaner I bought and used afterward. The whole result was okay--not the "wow" outcome I was anticipating after reading other reviews.

Smart Choice Cleaning did a great job on my large home. With 2 parents who work, 2 busy kids, 2 crazy cats and a large, shedding dog, it's not easy to keep the house clean. After considering a housecleaning service for some time, we finally decided to give Smart Choice a try. They came out within 3 days of my initially inquiring with them, which I thought was pretty good. They were a team of 3 and stayed 4 hours to get my house thoroughly clean. (They were originally scheduled for 2, but stayed longer only after confirming with me that it was ok.) They cleaned areas I didn't even expect, and my whole house just looks and feels great. I will definitely be scheduling them for a regular cleaning.
