The reason they got a B is because, understanding that it’s very difficult to do and they missed some of the wall board that had ended up with a fungus on it so it was either wasn’t cleaned or wasn’t removed and repaired properly.
Description of Work: I used Servpro to remove the carpet when we had a leak in the basement.

This was the most unprofessional experience my husband and I have ever been through. It was extremely difficult having to deal with a house fire, but the stress of going through a house fire was a piece of cake compared to the stress of dealing with Servpro of Fair Oaks, Chantilly! Right after the fire occurred, we were, of course, overwhelmed with everything that was going on. Unfortunately, instead of taking the time to research companies, we went with Servpro of Fair Oaks, Chantilly, primarily because we had heard of it before. To begin with, our house fire happened in the winter, so all of the water had to be turned off and the pipes treated with anti-freeze. This did not stop one of the Servpro employees from going to the bathroom in one of our toilets…and it wasn't number one, if you know what I mean. We reported this immediately to the owner, Wendy, at the same time we were calling to tell her that her employees had left our garage door/door to house unlocked. Keep in mind that we are not living in our home at this time, but checking in as often as possible and this is the kind of thing we are discovering. The next time I stop by the house to check, I find that another employee is in our kitchen with a number of other people (none of whom have any kind of and quot;Servproand quot; identification)…and they are using our microwave! Obviously, this was HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL, especially, as not only did they do this without having asked our permission, but this occurred before any of our appliances had been inspected and cleared by an electrician! Less than a week later, we discover that another door has been left unlocked and 3 large extremely heavy construction grade garbage bags full of debris left in our screened in porch. After waiting a couple of weeks to Servpro to haul these bags out to to the dumpster, I ended up having to haul them out myself. Speaking of the dumpster…Servpro's dumpster company (we have no idea who these people were, as they were contracted with by Servpro) parked their dumpster in our driveway without any boards under it. I guess that was okay in Feb. but by the time they finally hauled it away, we had 4 good sized pits in our driveway. During this same time, Servpro had to move much of our items to a storage unit so that work could be done in some of our rooms upstairs. I had put our valuable, breakable items out of the way, so that they wouldn't need to be disturbed. While checking in on the move, I discovered that these boxes were getting loaded into their truck. While I was inspecting these boxes, I noticed one that I had packed with very breakable china, glassware. I had packed these items inside a kind of duffle bag, inside a plastic tub. These items were not visible from the outside of the tub. On the outside of the tub, Servpro had used painter's tape and labeled it and quot;Fragile, Glassware.and quot; While I was starting to look into this box to make sure the items were okay, I said something to the Servpro employee like and quot;I really didn't want anyone going through this boxand quot; and he said and quot;We didn't open it.and quot; I stopped and said and quot;then how did you know what was inside it?and quot;…..no reply. I then said, pointing to the painter's tape label, and quot;whose handwriting is this?and quot; After a very, very long and uncomfortable pause, he said and quot;mine.and quot; I called Wendy shortly afterwards to report this incident of blatant lying, as I was very upset and worried about what other things Servpro had lied about. We were trusting these people to be in our house while we were not living there and it was very frustrating to feel like we always had to be double checking everything to make sure our house/items were secure and safe. When we were finally able to start moving back into our house, we discovered that Servpro broke our bed and closet organizer while taken them out of the house and in addition, while unwrapping our upholstered chair and ottoman that had been covered in plastic, they actually SLICED our furniture with box cutters!! Seriously!! Three other pieces of newly purchased furniture were very noticeably scratched and damaged and we've never actually recovered the lights that had been in our headboard. There are a number of other smaller incidents (such as being billed for services never performed, etc.) but I hope by now you've gotten the idea. We repeated let them know about these issues, either via phone calls or emails (which NEVER got returned until it was time for them to start asking for money). Finally, Wendy and her husband agreed to meet with us so we could discuss our frustration and show them the damaged items, driveway, etc. They had no choice but to acknowledge our complaints as I took photos of EVERYTHING. After having to spend more of our own time getting estimates for repairs and replacements, they agreed to take the replacement and repair costs off our bill…which they were obviously obligated to do. We then very politely asked if Wendy would consider giving us a discount based on everything we had gone through with Servpro…she agreed to think about it. Final insult was that every unprofessional experience we endured at the hands of Servpro of Fair Oaks/Chantilly, Wendy decided to give us $150.00 off of a $16,000 bill. I was, and continue to be speechless that a professional company would treat a client as poorly as Wendy and Servpro of Fair Oaks/Chantilly has treated us.
Description of Work: The provider was contracted to prepare our damaged house after a fire and professionally clean our personal items, including furniture and return them to us.

They were helpful and professional at a very difficult time and I can't say enough good things about them, especially crew chiefs Tia and Cameron. The day after I called them they were out there for an assessment and then were able to get most of the cleanup done that same day. I'm not sure of the final cost yet because it's still going through my homeowner's insurance, but the insurance company, who recommended this Servpro franchise, says they are the best Servpro in the area, with the fairest prices.
Description of Work: These folks cleaned up the site after a death in the home.

They are one of the most professional companies that has ever done business in my home. I had several estimates and I was not comfortable with any of the other companies. They other companies could not answer my questions and seemed more interested in scaring me and then giving me a big price tag to do the clean up. Servpro of Fair Oaks-Centreville-Chantilly sent in Nick Riddle who took his time to explain what they were going to do and by the end of the day had sent me an estimate that was extremely fair. The team that came in to do the work were professional and efficient and left the area clean and mold free. Even the people in the office when I called about the bill, were extremely helpful and friendly. They are an A+ organization from the first contact to the last. Can't say enough good stuff about them!
Description of Work: Servpro of Fair Oaks-Centreville-Chantilly provided mold cleanup after I found an undetected leak in my recreation room.

They performed a very large amount of unauthorized work and also performed the work after hours and charged me for that work despite the fact that I didn't authorize it. I'm currently refusing to pay the bill and rather than discuss it with me they are trying to harass my realtor to try and come out to my house. They removed the stuff they said they would remove and they did dehumidify the place but at an exorbitant work along with other necessary work.
Description of Work: I used Servpro of Fair Oaks-Centreville-Chantillyfor water and smoke damage repair services. My last service with them was April 12th where they removed some dehumidifiers. They were responding to a backed up drain and flooding in the living room.

Unfortunately, Mr. [member name removed] had a water loss at his rental property and lives out of state. We were contacted and hired by his property manager to clean up the property. Mr. [member name removed] was not involved with the transaction as he was out of town. His property manager was the person who signed paperwork and gave us access to the property. The work was done to IICRC standard and was not "exorbitant". We were given a credit card to pay for the services by the property manager however the credit card was denied for payment. We contacted the property manager for another form of payment only. As far as we know, Mr. [member name removed] was never at the site pre-loss or post-loss so it would be very difficult for him to judge what needed to be done to prevent further damage to his property from incomplete drying. We think this is simply a case of a rental property owner wanted to get work done but not wanting to pay for it.

Servpro is an amazing company. We had a major flood because of a burst pipe. Servpro came quickly to our rescue. They spread large rubberized mats all over the affected areas and used big vacuum-like machines to suck up the water and dry out the flooring. The whole process was fascinating. The professionals that undertook the task were friendly and knowledgeable. Over the course of a month, they became almost like family. We never knew that such services were available or that such machinery existed. Servpro made the best of a horrible situation. We hope that you never need My husband and I highly recommend this independently owned and operated company. We hope you never need these services, but if you do remember to call Servpro!
Description of Work: Following a burst pipe resulting in a flooded kitchen and basement, Servpro worked over a period of a month to remove as much water as possible.

We had a water damage/mold issue on one of the wall of our house. Servpro was highly recommended, so I gave them a call. They were very good over the phone and sent a person the very same day. From this point on they were very disappointing. Nick came over and looked very unsure about the job. The mold was in the inside of the building and the outside is masonry so he was not sure about the best way the perform the clean up. He said he would talk to the guys who actually do the job to figure out how they would get it done. The next day or so we got a $1500 estimate, never a call or any explanation on their action plan. We also learned that their quote does not include any rebuilding. They would only do the cleaning and mold treatment. There was never a moisture test or anything. Nick just came, measured the wall, did not know how the job would be done and left. Other companies came and actually had a plan and left us with an estimate without charging us $150 just for their visit.

I called ServPro of Chantilly for services resulting from a hot water heater defect. Wendy and her husband were unavailable for the immediate need but scheduled a partnered team to provide services. I am a return customer due to a previous water damage issue. I found it refreshing how responsive and professional their team handled our issue and worked seamlessly with our insurance carrier. Both teams were responsive and communicated well. The insurance team was very pleased with the level of documentation and service provided.

We found that the entire experience with Servpro of Chantilly was very impressive. We are very grateful for their service and expertise- they helped us cope with all of the insurance hoops and gave us great advice to get through the process.
Description of Work: We had a sewage backup from the bathroom on our main floor that affected 6-7 rooms including our basement rec room. We were very upset at the time we called and Wendy really was great talking us through the process they were going to use to clean up the mess. The team that arrived responded quickly and were extremely professional.

They were wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone. They were excellent. The same people who were out eight years ago remembered us. They were professional and on time. They were very knowledgeable and kept you informed. When they said they would come out and check on things, they did.

I was very satisfied with the service they gave. They were very quick, professional and friendly. They were very accommodating in terms of the hours they could come to do the work. I think I still may have a problem around a pipe but they took care of all the issues.
