Description of Work: Had a serious clog in my kitchen sink's drain pipe. Prior to contacing SSI Services, I spent about two weeks trying to un-clog it myself, from using your standard drain cleaners to pouring Coca-Cola down the drain, to using a drain auger (and while I did get stuff out using the auger, it was not enough to clear the drain). SSI Services probably should have charged me more for this -- they came on a Friday afternoon and spent more time than I think they bargained for to clear the drain. Anyway, they successfully cleared the clogs, and I haven't had any issues since. The service professional who provided the service was extremely knowledgable and answered many other questions I had related to our plumbing system. I will be calling SSI Services again in the future with any plumbing issues or work and cannot recommend them highly enough!

Description of Work: I have used this service twice for the furnace check-up. There were 2 different technicians. Both were very professional. I have lived in this house for 34 years and have had many furnace/AC inspections. None were as thorough as these. They pulled out their meters and measured capacitance, pressures, voltages, etc. which no one ever did before. One adjusted my thermostat which was never done before. They were very informative about how furnaces work. I learned more about furnaces in one hour than I ever did in the last 34 years. I want to share one incident with you: Earlier, Cyprus Air sent a technician to inspect my furnace. He said the burner was cracked, dangerous and I needed to replace the furnace. I said I will get a second opinion before I spend thousands for a new furnace. I called SSI. The technician said the furnace was old but in good condition ... no cracks. I can only assume I was almost ripped off by a dishonest technician who apparently gets a commission for each new furnace sold. Customer beware! I will use SSI when I eventually need a new furnace.

Description of Work: Seasonal inspection of the air conditioner. There was a problem that was diagnosed and they were able to fix it without having to make another appt. They are nice individuals to work with.

Description of Work: SSI came for a furnace tune-up and told me I was going to need a new blower motor because it is leaking oil. I was encouraged to upgrade my furnace rather than just replacing. When I contacted my home warranty company and they sent out one of their furnace companies, I was told there was no evidence of the motor leaking oil but there was a problem with the safety door button ( button that automatically turns the furnace off when the furnace door is taken off). Now I don't know who to believe.

Description of Work: This was an Angielist special to inspect the AC system (had bought the systen two years ago and not inspected it since). The person came on time, made sure the system was in good working order (which it was), and provided a few recommendations that were of interest in the long term. Overall a good experience.
