Description of Work: We had several trees planted. They moved them around until we were happy with the placement. The trees were larger than we what we thought we would get so they look good already. One spruce fell over in strong wind and was totally replaced and had extra stakes put in to hold it up until it is well rooted. We have worked with Meadows Farm in the past and have always been please with their work.

Description of Work: Spent a great deal of time going over plant selection, placement, maintenance, etc. Hugh was very knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. Looking forward to having them pretty up the front of my house!

Description of Work: They didn't. What a joke of an estimate. Completely ridiculous.

Description of Work: Despite scheduling and subsequently confirming two appointments regarding getting a leak in our pond repaired and a scheduled pond cleaning, the folks from Meadows Farms failed to show for two appointments and only called several hours after they missed the first one to let us know they weren't coming that day. Unfortunately, they neither showed nor called on the date of the second appointment. I called the next day to inquire about the missed appointment and was only able to leave a voice mail message requesting a call back, which never came. This is especially disappointing since we have spent tens of thousands of dollars on landscaping and hardscaping with Meadows Farms over the years and they were the company that originally installed our pond, stream and waterfall. To be fair, we have not experienced any problems with the other departments, but this is the second year in a row that the pond department did not show up for scheduled appointments. When they have shown up in the past, we were highly satisfied with their performance, but that does not offset the recent lack of professionalism.

Description of Work: Used the Meadow Farms location on Plank Road in Fredericksburg. Purchase 3 trees and 4 potted azaleas. Delivery truck came to the house and never notified anyone they were there, so they just dumped the load on the far side of the driveway. Some items were 150 to 200 pounds and difficult to move. It is not the delivery's job to carry them to the planting sites but some common courtesy by placing them next to the driveway closer to where they were to go in would have been basic customer service. None of that here. Dragging a 250-pound 7-foot spruce tree an extra 100 feet could have been avoided by knocking on the door to notify the customer. Thanks for that. And check out at the nursery was an adventure, as the final price changed three times and we had to swipe the card four times to get checked out finally. We will not go back here.

Description of Work: I just wanted an estimate for sod in the back yard (small yard-small job), they asked if I wanted an estimate for landscaping. I said sure but didn't realize how long it would take or how in depth they were going to go with the estimate, turned out to be a $7000 estimate on a $500 initial job. After receiving an estimate like that I couldn't sign a contract for only $500. Wish I didn't spend the $29 for the estimate

Description of Work: Mr. John Sargeant was my landscape designer. He visited property in March. It was delayed due to inclement weather ai the area. He suppose to provide design and cost estimate withing 3-4 days. We discussed about budget amount. I provided low amount but asked to give me a quote along with design, plants along with cost to install. I told him that I may get cleanup work done ahead of time. He promised to email me withing 3 -4 days after the visit. I never received any quotes from him. Around April, I called him and informed him that I have not received any quotes from him. He told me he has not done because of my low budget. I asked him to give me a quote again. He suppose to provide within 3 days. To-date I have not received any quote from Meadows Farms. |

Description of Work: It must have been a fantastic job, because my wife is thrilled with the results (and that's all that matters).

Description of Work: Marjorie Smith came to the house. She listened to the plan we wanted for a flat walkway from the sidewalk to the house and the house to the driveway. |Lastly, we wanted to enlarge our stoop. |She took extended measurements, then came inside to draw a plan. |Ms. Smith was professional, polite and punctual. Our objection was the estimate plus the cost of cement.
