Meadows Farms Landscaping

They it went fine. They did a good job. We will be proceeding with them in the future.

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. That went well. That was good. She wrote up a landscaping plan. She was excellent. She was really, really good. Very nice, very good. She did exactly what she said.

I purchased a discounted landscape evaluation. The landscape designer, Michael, responded within a day to schedule an appointment. The first appointment had to be cancelled due to an accumulation of snow. Michael was on time for the second appointment and spent a great deal of time discussing my landscaping ideas. The home will be listed soon and with that information Michael gave his, I feel, honest opinion of what would provide the best return on investment. At this point, we have opted to make other investments in the home to facilitate a quick sale. I would use Meadow Farms services if I were going to stay in the area.

Hugh Perry took my ideas and made them happen, it was like he was inside my head, he knew exactly what I wanted. Everything turned out beautiful. The total cost was over $30,000. but worth every penny. I have pictures but do not see a way to upload.

It went well. In spite of having to reschedule our appointment due to heavy snow one day that made it impossible to see the yard, Jennifer showed up on the day of the appointment and after a brief introduction started we went out to the front and back yard to discuss my ideas and so she could take measurements and get a sense of the space and current plants and shrubs. The fun part started when we sat down and she drew a sketch of both spaces and we discussed what I wanted and what she recommended in terms of using the space, the types of plants, the layout, etc. I felt that I got a good deal for the price. What I liked is while she gave me a cost estimate for doing some of the work (heavy lifting) that I might not want to do when getting my gardens ready she clearly was not pushing me to sign a contract. I think she realized that as an avid gardener I would like to do some of the work myself and would likely buy many if not all of my supplies from Meadow Farms, the lack of a hard sale either way was refreshing. I may contact them as the weather begins to warm up. I hope the working crew is good also if I do use them. We'll see. Stay tuned.

We have used Meadows Farms landscaping at our two previous SF homes and have always been pleased. We chose them to re landscape a badly neglected front yard when we moved to a Reston town-home, and again had Glenn Louis design the new landscape. Glenn listened to our desires and came up with a plan which was reasonably priced and presents color through out the growing season. The work crew brought in topsoil retained by a dry stacked retaining wall. They arrived on time, were polite and the foreman gave good advise when changes to Glenn's plan were needed due to unforeseen problems. Our only issue was with the quality of the dry stack wall. The foremen laid one side quickly and with quality; he allowed the two other workers to lay the other longer section. They were less experienced and took much longer, wasted a number of stones, and when they finished late in the day and back tilled the soil, we could see the difference in build quality. Glenn responded to our concern and sent out a second crew who rebuilt the section to our satisfaction. Very pleased.

I signed up because we have recently moved into a new house with a huge yard. I bought the deal and waited over a week to get a response. When I didn't get a response, I sent an email and was told that the original designer that was supposed to contact me is out of town and they'll forward my info to another person. I spoke on the phone to the new person and clearly explained that I was looking for someone to come and evaluate the yard, I am interested in planting and purchasing fruit trees and new grass and want to come up with a plan to do that. When the person showed up today he said that all this is handled by another department and we have to go to the nursery to figure it all out. He said he dealt more with patios and decks. I feel that this was absolute waste of my money. This deal did nothing for me other than waste my money.

Donna was professional and listened to what I wanted but also had several ideas of her own. Work was done quickly and on time.

Landscape Designer gave us precisely what we wanted. |All crews did excellent work.

Tom Harley was so clearly competent, knowledgeable, and honest, that we felt very confident in hiring him to do the hardscaping and landscaping for the front of our house, even though we had done minimal research into other companies. He was full of creative ideas for using the space and for picking plants, and he was able to easily adapt to our preferences and make changes as we went along. The final result is really terrific. The only thing I'm not sure about was the price. I think it was fair, but it might have been wiser for me to do more of the planting work myself, because it really adds up in a big way!

It was great. They did a good job and they were here actually even earlier than they thought. I had paid them by check on the deposit because they didn't have a credit card with it. They just took their time and cleaned up. They took some stuff and dumped it and waited for me to get home because they knew I wasn't going to be home until about 1:00 so it worked fine. They cleaned up after themselves. They were apologetic at one point because they didn't have grass seeds to put down into one area but they mulched it for me. I was very pleased with the work they did. The designer who came, sat and talked to us was very helpful. He sat with a whole book full of ideas and plants that we should use, he was very helpful. They were here early and done very quickly.

The tree was planted as scheduled with no problems and warranty provided.

First, I must give my highest praise to Mr. Joe Hudgens who worked with me from the inception of the project it to its completion. Throughout the process he was the consummate professional: prompt, knowledgeable, affable, creative, and responsive. The stone work when completed has drawn rave reviews from our neighbors and given our already stately looking home, an even more distinguished look. The work took five complete days. The workers worked extraordinarily hard from early in the morning until dusk. We could not have been more pleased with the design and execution. I would highly recommend Meadow farms to install stonework !

First, I checked out the ratings on Angie's list. While reading the comments I saw the coupon for 10% off landscaping and a free consultation. Thanks, Meadows Farms Landscaping! Vicki was our designer and she is a real gem. Vicki is easy going and knowledgeable and able to understand and incorporate what you are looking for into the design. I had tried several other landscape designers and it felt as though they just looked on the computer to see what would work where and plugged it in. We did experience some problems actually getting scheduled. After signing the contract and waiting a week I had to make a couple of phone calls over two days to get a date when they would come out. Also, they told me they would call Miss Utility, and they did but they did not allow enough time for the markings to be completed. This caused some delay so make sure you allow for the ticket with Miss Utility to be completed. The landscapers showed up slightly early, which was fine, and I was immediately impressed with the professionalism shown by Lee, the foreman. He is a hard worker and patiently answers all questions. David, who worked on the rock wall worked tirelessly all day and did a beautiful job. Some of the plants looked a little beat up but I imagine they will be fine once they settle in. The size was good. Most importantly, if I wanted anything changed Lee was very accommodating with some good suggestions of his own. Meadows Farms Landscaping appears to be customer oriented as evidenced by their employees professionalism and desire to make sure that the customer is completely satisfied with the job that is done. We will certainly use their services again and refer them to others.

I purchased natural stone from meadow farms on Jefferson Davis highway, the associates were nice and helpful, drop off day was Thursday. Thursday around noon the driver called to tell me he was on his way. I told him I lived in a townhouse but I had 2 parking spots and he could put the stone in one spot. He was calling me to warn me when he dumped the rocks off that they were going to shatter and hit my neighbors cars, if there were any beside my spot. At this point I thought the driver was just being a jerk, the stone was in a palet when I ordered it so that's how I expected it to be dropped off. I asked what do most people do in this situation and he said have the neighbors move there cars. I am iat work and don't know my neighbors numbers so that wasn't an option but I didn't think they were home anyway so he literally dropped the stone of the back of the truck What a mess !!! So I called meadows farms and told them what the driver said, he honestly didn't seem to care and said he thought the driver was exaggerating. My husband gets home before me and the rocks are everywhere !!! The driver didn't even drop them in just one spot, he dropped them in the middle of both spots. We both called the cooperate office and spoke to the Vice President, she was responsive and took care of the situation What happened was she said when I signed the form for the rocks it says that they are just going to dump the rocks and in addition to paying the 55.00 deliver fee you could pay another 50 for a stacking fee. We were never told of this option and I didn't read the form.i honestly thought I was just signing a paper acknowledging what I bought. They ended up sending 2 kids out to clean up the mess but it was 105 outside and I felt sorry for these 2 kids that weren't the ones that made the mess Looking back I think the driver was warning me instead of being a jerk I went to meadow farms because I do expect a higher standard from them from the other big box stores but I would of been better of just going to one of them

The two flowering cherry trees were delivered late and planted in the wrong places. They both died within two weeks of planting. The nursery said the deaths were probably due to heat stress and we should watch if they put out buds. The trees are still dead (it is now late August). The planner also gave false information about the appointment follow up; the appointment actually occurred after the planner had said it did. The company will replace the trees this fall, according to their policy; but the unprofessional treatment resulting in the trees dying and giving cover-up information is completely unsatisfactory.

It has been about 2-3 weeks since we had the landscaping work done. Everything is still really new, but so far it looks really nice. They guys who came out were very nice and very professional. We had a good experience with them.

Their customer service is really personal. After the very first time we called those to get our gardens plan by them, they knew us on the first name basis as we knew them. We could call and ask for the particular person we were working with and they knew immediately who we were even though they are a huge company. Anytime seems to look good as if the plant taking or something seems to be going skew, we could call them and they would say not to worry about that because that always happens after the first 6 months or they will come and take it out and they would do it immediately in a very personal way. When they came, they were very careful about all of our plantings. They are our number 1 go to nursery for this area. We thought their price was high but then we were shocked that they gave us so much credit when anything didn’t turn out for us. So we kept getting things for free. We still have the balance over there. The price is reasonable and fair. They were college graduates and amazing. They know what they’re doing.

They are not finished yet. They are going to put in a new wall for us. The rain has caused problems. So far the work is gorgeous and it is great. The people come in when they can you know when it is not raining and they go right to work and they don't mess around, they do everything and they are done and clean up beautifully. They are just real good to work with. I would use them again. Their work is all guaranteed.

We chose Meadows Farm Landscaping on the recommendation and work done on our next door neighbors property. Our designer, Jane Munzell, was a pleasure with which to work. She was punctual, friendly and delivered a design the worked beautifully into our existing landscaping. The crew showed up on time, was professional and worked diligently on the full day (nearly 12 hour) install. The foreman, Rohorio, stated that he'd been with MFL for 17 years and his oversight of the crew was top-notch. The installation was flawless. The stone work looks fantastic. There was a pricing discrepancy on the work order that the foreman brought to my attention and discounted on-site. My neighbors even commented on the thoroughness of the crew's clean up efforts at the end of the job- pressure spraying the driveway and walkways to ensure a clean finish. I would absolutely recommend a consultation with our designer. She was prompt and responsive. An excellent overall experience.

Pepe Ayulo, VA certified Horticulturalist and Landscape Designer at Meadows Farms, provided a comprehensive plan for the layout of my property's landscaping. The Meadows Farms crew showed up on time, discussed their plan to complete the job, and went right to work. The job was completed quickly, thoroughly, and I was left with a clean, beautiful property and instructions on how to care for the plants. Meadows Farms also warrants their plants, so my investment is covered should they not survive for any reason.

Easy to order via telephone. Knowledgable staff helped determine correct amount. Delivered on time.

I did not have an appointment but was able to meet with a designer with no wait. I showed him the layout of my yard and we discussed where the 5 trees should be planted. We were done within 15 minutes and I was the proud owner of 5 trees. They provided me with flags to place in the yard the day before the installation (to make sure the right tree was planted in the right place). They arrived on time and got to work immediately. Within 2 hours we had 5 new trees (which were even taller than I had hoped). They staked the trees (to protect against high winds) and mulched. After the cleanup they provided me with instructions for care (watering, removal of stakes, etc). I highly recommend their services. Since they performed the installation, the trees are guaranteed for life (2/3 of the price in case of tree death).

Meadows Farms I ordered five barrier trees at a sale rate of $1200 to block a view into our neighbor?s yard. They were planted this morning when I was out of town. When I returned home, I was dismayed to see that they were not where I thought they would be. (The salesperson had placed flags on the yard where they should be planted, and it had seemed right to me at that time.) I called Meadows Farms this afternoon and said that the trees didn?t seem to be planted where I had thought they would be. I think I expected them to say that they did just what I had approved. Instead, they said they would be right over to take care of it to my satisfaction. When I said they didn?t have to rush over, they said they definitely wanted to take care of it for me today. A team of workers, led by Jake Reed, showed up today around 5 and then discussed new locations for the trees with my husband and me. They were cheerful and knowledgeable and did a great job re-planting several of the trees. They carefully sodded over where the trees had been. I was very impressed with Meadows Farms and the fact that they wanted to make sure that we were happy with our purchase. I definitely plan to make them our go-to nursery based on this very positive experience.

Meadows Farms did a full landscape design and installation for my new home this past summer. They removed all of the old overgrown shrubbery, added new soil, planted approximately 50 different shrubs and perennials and mulched everything. Unfortunately, several of the plants did not survive the extremely hot and dry summer, despite my best attempts at consistent watering. As part of the job, however, they included a "lifetime" warranty on all of the plants. And, when I called about problems with some of the plants they very quickly responded and an inspector came to the house to review. She was very knowledgeable and had several suggestions for how to care for all of the plants and identified those needing replacement. They then scheduled the replacement and subsequently installed new plants as needed. This spring some of the perennials did not come back well and I called them again. The very nice customer service rep suggested that I send them pictures of the plants via email and they would get back to me. Well, several days later their installer arrived at the house with replacement plants to install. I have been extremely satisfied from start to finish with the process and all of the people that I dealt with. And, particularly pleased to find out first hand that their warranty is solid and that they stand completely behind their work and plants, even a year after the initial installation.
