Meadows Farms Landscaping

We first bought an Angie's List special to have Meadow Farms write up an outline of plants and concepts for our flower beds. This was performed in late winter and we waited for spring to arrive and then scheduled the service. We revisited the plant choices that were initially suggested and established the exact plants and placement of those plants with the contractor before installation. The installation team came with the plans and we worked with them with placement of the actual plants and actually ended up making some small adjustments to the layout at that time. The installers were knowledgeable and very nice to work with. They were quick in installing and mulching and they were done in about 3.5 hours max. The plants have been in the ground now for 6 weeks and all are thriving.

John was a very experienced supervisor and did an excellent job with his 2 man crew.

designer cam out in mid Feb and drew up design for trees to be placed where old dead trees had been removed. Very rocky, boulder strewn are. Trees were planted and mulched. Very pleasant.

We have used this company multiple times and as always they are professional, knowledgeable and stand behind their work. John and his crew are the best. We will continue to do all our landscaping with Meadows Farms.

John & crew did a great job and were punctual and cleaned up. John made sure that every step was completed to my sanctification. A fantastic job!

We accepted the plan and engaged in a contract with Meadows Farms to complet the job. Work was done professionally over the course of 3 days. The implementation required additional materials which we were not charged for in the final billing. Vendor stated that they will come back to address any issues, including settling of pavers, that might arise.

All aspects were very prompt. All employees were responsive, polite, great to work with. Each phase was done in a timely manner, workmanship was efficient and neat. Cared about the final product.

Everything form the design to the installation went just as smooth as the last time I hired Meadows Farms. I will definitely use them again!

We made a big mistake picking Meadows. The designer was always late or delayed and had a list of excuses. She was very personable and so we gave her a pass. The design was poorly drawn making it very difficult to really see what the finished product was supposed to be. The names of the plants were difficult to read and mostly in latin. We trusted our designer to translate what we had told her into a plan and let her go. We cut out a good deal of plants from the plan as it seemed overly crowded with some undesirable plants. A major reason for undertaking the project was to eliminate some loriope from the front walk. The design called for replacing it with a variegated variety that we had doubts about but were assured would be very different. When the invoice came it called for us to buy 39 new loriope at $17 a plant. When I raised this I was again told to trust the designer. On installation day it was a good crew of installers putting in a thoroughly uninspired plan. The loriope dominated and we had them take out 3/4 of them. Three of four laurels died from what appears to be poor planting techniques. We had 4 holly shrubs planted to the tune of $100 each. They did not overwinter very well either and were about 12-18 in diameter. We bought the same plants from Costco for $15 each and they are twice as large. The Japanese maple we had ordered was a sad specimen that our designer had supposedly hand picked at the nursery, although when we met there to pick a replacement, it was obvious that she had not stepped foot out there in a long while. We had an oak planted as well that has failed to bud yet and may not survive. Meadows was the middle bid, but both others created designs on computers with pdf versions emailed to us that showed overhead and side views. We thought Meadows was better, but may have been fooled by the lack of visual aids. We have rearranged much of the plan and have plans to do more. We would never consider using them again.

I have used Meadows Farms for several projects. They arrived on time and followed the plan of the landscaper's exactly as drawn. Hugh Perry (landscaper) always suggests good solutions to the landscape issues.

They supposedly have a lifetime warranty on the plants. Five of their shrubs (otto laurels) immediately had some type of disease and many of their plants failed completely. Many were not planted well. The ground cover just rolled off on to the lawn with the first rain. It was still in containers so I had about 25 containers on my lawn, which I showed to the woman who came to do the inspection. We have irrigation and year round maintenance. It took them over a year to replace the plants and the replaced plants aren't even as large as the original plants that I paid for. Plus you still have to pay for the labor of replacing all the plants!!! And many of their plants are not covered in the warranty. So I paid them another $500 to replace the plants, that were not up to par in the first place. Get a company that will do it right the first time. This is right in our front yard so everyone sees this every day. We had to live with dying plants in our front yard for well over a year and keep explaining to people that we are waiting for them to be replaced. My husband had to prop up Christmas lights with stakes to make it look like we had shrubs where they died. And their customer service was not responsive at all. They couldn't find our file on many occasions. Inspections people wouldn't come out because they didn't have a file and they expected me to have the paperwork (which they themselves couldn't find). I finally called about 5 departments at Meadow Farms and found my own file and had someone fax me a copy of the work they did. And then, inspection people came out and agreed to look at the plants. Crazy.
