Description of Work: Had Mannix service come out to proactively check my HVAC system this morning and was very please that my service tech was very thorough with my system. I definitely noted his attention to detail considering the past companies I've used (Parrish, I'm looking at you). He was very punctual and was open and honest with my system, didn't try to sell me anything I did not need. I have no hesitation in recommending Mannix and will use them for my future needs. Very well done!

Description of Work: Mannix performed a diagnostic of my father's furnace. He suffers from mild dementia and I couldn't be there during the appt. They called while there and were very patient with my father. The 25 year old furnace hadn't been serviced or cleaned in many years. They changed the filter I purchased from them. They were fantastic.

Description of Work: I bought two of the 49$ cleaning deals. One for AC and one for Furnace. The tech came in knowing it was for a cleaning. I was told my furnace needed to be replaced that the coils were too dirty and it wasn't worth cleaning. He looked at the AC and I don't have outside water in the back of my unit so he said he wasn't able to clean it without outside water. He spent some time with my furnace opened up, yes its old, yes it should be replaced, but I bought two deals for cleanings and nothing was cleaned. He basically just inspected my units and gave me his opinion on what to do. I found coil cleaner at home depot and did it myself. Watch the youtube videos before having a "professional" come clean your coils.

Description of Work: Mannix Heating & Cooling is a first class provider and provides very good value for your money. I had 2 new hybrid HVAC units (heat pump with nat gas/propane backup) installed in our home in Dec 2011. I waited for the first year to roll by before writing this entry to ensure all was as promised. I am very satisfied with both the installation and the seasonal servicing since that time. Jerry Mannix (the owner), the installation technicians, and the servicing techs since then have all been consistently knowledgeable, timely, polite, and effective with any follow up. We had our 1 year servicing this morning. They know their products well (primarily Carrier) and do not oversell vs your needs. Price was not the lowest, but was solidly competitive and the knowledge/service was clearly superior (I had two different local providers in prior 10 years before this upgrade installation). I would and have recommend this firm to others that I know (and this is not very common for me). Suggest you give Mannix a look if you are in the market for HVAC....best of luck.

Description of Work: Mannix Heating & Cooling installed an entire heating/air conditioning system in our 70-year-old home, which, prior to this new heat pump system, only had two small propane "fireplaces" and 4 noisy window air conditioners as its system. Mannix had to create all ductwork & vents (in our attic - we have no basement); broke through an unused chimney to vent the new system; created the necessary gas and electric modifications; etc. Jerry Mannix, reportedly an 18+ year veteran in the HVAC business, who only just started his own company about 3 years ago, obviously knows what he's doing and does it well. His very personal involvement with the estimate; his patience with my multitude of questions regarding the pros/cons of the various choices; and the excellent staff he sent to do the two-day job, confirmed my initial feeling that this was the company to go with -- I can easily see why Mannix earned a Super Service Award almost immediately after being listed on Angie's list. I was also impressed with Jerry's honesty when, in telling him the two companies my choice came down to, he openly noted the other was also an excellent, reliable, honest choice should I have gone with that company (another Angie's List Super Service company). Mannix' pleasant and polite crew, led by a Melvin, with the gas work and thermostat orientation done by an equally excellent Ruben, was very conscientious about cleaning up as they worked and at the end of every afternoon. My husband, a construction development consultant who, himself, has been a contractor, is very particular about who does work in our home; he, too, was very pleased with Jerry's expertise and the crew's skillful and conscientious performance of their duties. We're considering replacing our hot water furnace soon -- Mannix will no doubt be the company we choose to do the job.

Description of Work: called for a Gas leak on my Fireplace. Rep who answered was honest and upfront on the fact that they don't work on the units themselves, so appreaciate that!!
