For over 35 years, Mann-In, Inc has been providing the Northern Virginia region with high quality home comfort services, with a focus on exceeding our customers’ expectations. The owners have built the company from the ground up while maintaining a hands-on ownership approach, ensuring that the mechanics, sales, and administrative staff are in collaboration. Today Mann-In, Inc employs 15 staff members and has been a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer since 2004. We specialize in Infinity® Systems and HYBRID HEAT™ systems and have won the Carrier President’s Award for six straight years! Our goal is to “Provide our customers with the Comfort they desire and the Quality they deserve” which is proven by our highest ratings on sites such as Washington Consumer Checkbook and Better Business Bureau. While Mann-In, Inc currently only installs Carrier made systems, we will service any and all brands of residential systems. We charge an hourly rate for service calls with no travel charges and offer 24 hour emergency service in the winter months ONLY.

I've been using Mann-In for the last few years. I find them to be professional, on-time, helpful and good at what they do. They always explain things and help me understand what is needed or not. Today was no different. Mann-In called to tell me they were on their way. Colt and the other technician (sorry I am so bad with names), showed up and were very courtious and helpful. I mean... I did a pretty lame thing. I didn't know the difference between a heat pump and a gas furnace. I thought they were the same thing. So I called for a heat pump service throgh the Dominion Power Energy Savings Program. Colt explained the difference and didn't laugh at me. Though I had a good laugh at myself (cause I knew I had a gas furnance just didn't realize its not called a heat pump). We all have moments. Don't judge. ;) At any rate, they were done servicing/ cleaning the furnce in a resonable amount of time and left everything in good shape. Definately will use Mann-In again.

Our heater was working intermittently (of course during the week of a major snow storm). After getting an insane estimate from another contractor, a friend referred Mann-In. They came out, double checked the diagnosis and gave a reasonable estimate for a new unit. The entire process took about a week and the made sure the old heater was working until they could get the new one installed. They called daily and were ready with space heaters in case the old uint went before they could install.

While the service was not performed, I was wowed by the professionalism and genuine nature of the folks I dealt with at Mann-In HVAC. My furnace stopped working on a Saturday night. I called for "emergency service," that night, but said I didn't really need the service until the following Sunday morning. I received a call in the morning, explained the problem, and the technician was friendly and helpful. Best of all, he explained that Sunday rates were going to be twice the normal rates, and while he would be happy to come take a look, he didn't think he could help me until the following day, when he could order the part that I thought I needed. We talked it through - no pressure, just a genuine conversation - and I decided to wait to get the work done. He offered to schedule me for a service call the following day. I ended up using my "normal" HVAC company, who doesn't offer emergency HVAC service. The following morning I received a call just to make sure I had been able to schedule a service call for my broken furnace. While I didn't use Mann-In, I have put them on my short list for the future.

We woke up in the middle of the night with the strong odor of electrical smoke. We traced the problem to our furnace where it seems the blower motor burned out and began to melt the wiring. We called Mann-In Inc. at 3am and left a message. We had a repair technician at our door promptly at 7am that morning. He quickly diagnosed the problem and completed repairs by 9am. The quality of service was excellent and the responsiveness and professionalism of the technician and the support staff were outstanding. Mann-In Inc. is now our HVAC company of choice. We will use them to replace and upgrade our entire system this spring.

We asked the company to provide an estimate for annual maintenance service contract. They contacted us immediate after receiving our initial request. They were very nice on the phone and even offered to send a technician to do an on-site inspection for estimate. We did not hire them because a competitor offered a more comprehensive service plan. But they definitely on the top of our list if we need something else in the future.

The technician arrived within the timeframe given. He was very polite and checked both furnaces. He didn't find anything wrong with them, but did recommend extra insulation for the attic furnace lines. I was pleased with the service performed and would definitely use them again.

I called on November 27 and needed a furnace inspection for the winter by no later than November or December, 2013. when I called they told me that the only openings were in mid January, 2014. At that point I opted for getting another provider to schedule an appointment for my furnace inspection.

I contacted them to schedule the appointment and they were able to get me scheduled right away. The service was great. The technician was super; he completed the inspection and tune up in less than an hour. I also got an estimate for them and I have decided to use their services to purchase a new furnace end air conditioning unit in the future.

It went great. We, of course, had our heater stop working on the coldest night/morning of the year (record breaking). We called at 3am for a service call and heard back by 6am. We also called 4 others and this company was first to call us back and was available to come out first. They were great. Super professional. I highly recommend. I am a little disappointed that when I mentioned I found them on Angie's list, they didn't tell me about the 10% off service call coupon listed on here. But that has nothing to do with how much we liked the service, professionalism and prompt response. We will absolutely call them any time we have any A/C or heating issues in the future.
Description of Work: Provider came to the house and found the faulty part in our HVAC unit - heating. He temporarily fixed it, left and got us the new part and came back to install it.

I purchased a big deal from Angie's List and their services turned out fine. They were completely thorough. The two guys that came by were wonderful. They were real prompt and did a good job. I paid for the big deal and nothing extra.

For the most part, the install went according to plan. Stan Lee was our sales contact and he always responded to my phone calls - even on the weekend - which we very much appreciated. Mark and Dan handled the install, they were very capable and polite, and cleaned up after the install work and explained everything related to our new system. We were very pleased with both of them and their assistant. Mann-In did the install during the fall (right before their busy season), and at that time everyone was pretty responsive. We had one issue where the scheduler scheduled an inspection but failed to tell me that I was supposed to call the inspector's office to find out when they would show up, and therefore I was not here during my "window" because I didn't know when they were coming. Luckily I was able to jump through some hoops and reschedule the inspection myself, so we didn't get off schedule. However, now that the temperatures have dropped, I am having a hard time getting calls back to fix some follow-up issues (including a hole in the siding that was not fully closed when they installed the venting for the heating system). My contractor noticed the hole when he did the follow-up ceiling dry wall repair work (the hole was about the size of a quarter or half dollar and extended through the siding, so when you looked up the ceiling of my basement you could see light coming through from the exterior wall). In addition to that issue, we asked if there was anyway we could schedule someone to come at the same time to relocate our heat pump to accommodate some unrelated work that is being done in our yard, which work is not an emergency (but I asked if there was any way they could work us in knowing that it was their busy season, given that we had just spent a significant amount of money with them). Although I appreciate that the hole is a minor issue when compared to being without heat during the sub-freezing temperatures, it is pretty aggravating given that we have an opening in our house that just invites rodents, insects and water to take refuge. It is even more frustrating considering that I have called twice and been told that folks are without heat and that takes priority, etc., in such a way that implies that I am being selfish to even call them about this issue and the heat pump relocation during their very busy time. While I completely understand that they need to prioritize - and was very nice about it over the phone - I reminded the scheduler that we paid them over $10K to do the gas conversion, so I don't think it is a lot to ask to have someone call us back to either tell me (i) there is no way in h*** anyone is coming to fix the hole (which is basically the take-away I got from the call), (ii) tell me how to fix the problem or (iii) to actually get me on the schedule. I have called twice this week and when I asked if I should expect a call back it was clear the representative had spoken with the owner about scheduling, but no one had called me to tell me this. Her response was "well we can't even put you on the schedule until after the first of the year" so I said well, fine, but at least call me back or send me an email and tell me that so we can actually get on the schedule, even if it is a month from now. Meanwhile, I am trying to scramble to find someone else to fix the problem for me right before the holidays, which is next to impossible. I hate to give a negative review but I feel I need to be completely honest about the follow-up. The workmanship was good (as far as I can tell) and the price was about the same as other HVAC installers were charging, and the guys that did the install and our sales guy were both extremely knowledgable and professional. I guess the take-away is make sure you don't need any follow-up during the summer or winter as you will be lucky to have someone call you back!

So far we love it and it is working nicely. They completed the work quickly and efficiently. I did a lot of research and they got very highly ratted reviews which is why we considered them. We went to the store right before they were closing. One of the employees had someone call to schedule the appointment. They called and then a sales representative came out. He was happy to answer all of our questions until we agreed to hire them. The price was reasonable for the quality of equipment installed. We got everything we wanted and it was a great experience.

Mann-In is a company that really takes care of its clients. This year, two days before Thanksgiving, on the first cold day of the season, our heater stopped working. Even though this was one of their busiest days of the year, Mann-In got a technician out to our home. The very next day, Chuck, the President of the company, had found the necessary parts and came to our home and fixed our heater. We were able to have our children and grandchildren over to our home for Thanksgiving. Mann-In had installed our heating and air conditioner unit many years ago. We were so pleased with their service and the high level of quality of their technicians that we entered into a service agreement with them. For the years of great service provided to us by Mann-In we are pleased to nominate them for the Angie?s List Super Service Award.

I used Mann-In when we needed to replace our entire HVAC system in our last house, so after we sold that home and bought a new one, I was thrilled the new house had a new system just like the one I had purchased from Mann-In, and was so impressed with their service in our last house, I knew I would call them to get established in the new house. I called to set up the appt., the people on the phone were exceptionally friendly, and the appt. was made about a month out. I had purchased the deal on A.List for seasonal maintenance, and was given the window of 9-12 for arrival. The office gave us a courtesy call when the tech was on his way and he arrived soon thereafter. He was awesome!! Checked the furnace, helped adjust the setttings to best meet our needs in the house, helped us understand the best setting on the dampers (always a mystery!) and got the humidifier up and running with a new filter. Educated us about how the Infinity System works and what type of filter to use to maximize performance and minimize our costs. I'm a loyal customer, for sure!! Haven't been disappointed yet and wouldn't use anyone else. ... and when you are remodeling a whole house, those little "positive" experiences seem priceless. Thanks!!

Based on the rating and reviews on Angie's List, I called Mann-In for a service call on our 8 year-old furnace. It was not staying on to heat the home, and temperatures were starting to require heat. They were able to accommodate my tight schedule and come to the house the same day. The receptionist gave me information about rates, so I knew what to expect, and was very roundly and nice on the phone. The service person turned out to be one of the owners (they had a particularly busy schedule) and he was extremely courteous, and professional. He was patient answering questions, including questions about maintenance and service contracts. He replaced the gas valve and it seemed to do the trick. That night, we noted that the furnace was still not staying on long enough to raise the temperature of the house. The following day, I called Mann-In, and they sent out a technician also based on my schedule. It turned out that the flame sensor needed to be cleaned off. The technician performed this task, and the furnace was fully functional. They did not charge for the second visit. We appreciate the efforts that were made to repair our furnace, and to make us happy customers!
