JK General Contractor, LLC

I hired JK General Contractor and give it five stars not because it was the lowest price of the three contractors that gave me bids, but because the company has something other companies don't often exhibit: integrity. It also has great customer service and provides a great value for the money. After we signed a contract for a screened-in deck with the company and paid a third of the cost of the deck as a deposit, my husband and I found we needed to cancel the contract because of a major change in plans (a move). We thought that it meant we would lose the deposit. However, JK General Contractor returned our deposit minus the amount that had been spent on designing the deck. We were thrilled. I don't believe the other two contractors that gave us bids would have done so. If we end up staying here after all, we will definitely go back to JK General Contractor, sign the contract again, and have the deck built. When I selected JK General Contractor, I read ALL of the reviews of the three contractors that gave us bids, particularly reading the bad reviews, looking for a pattern among the comments. The reviews for the other contractors led me to believe that either they had financial problems that interfered with on-time delivery if you were among the unlucky few customers or had management problems. None of those problems appeared in the "bad" reviews of JK General Contractor. The materials normally used by JK General Contractor were higher in quality than that used by the other contractors. Looking for the lowest price often, perhaps most often, doesn't get you a quality product and good service.

Jk construction has excellent craftsmen, who care about their work. Highest quality work or they make it right. Chris C is a hands on manager and continuously checks on the work and is responsive to the client. Top of my list as a contractor and would hire them back for quality, timeliness and value for the dollar.....John D

Work was well done, patio looks great! They were able to turn my vision into a reality and finished a bit ahead of time, which was great!

The team seem very committed to not only doing the work, but making sure we were satisfied. Jose and I spoke all the way through the project and he took his time to get things done right and in order. Very reputable and would hire again if needed.

We have just had JK General Contractor install a new front stoop to replace ugly, poorly laid stone, as well as to replace cobblestone at the garage doors. I was absolutely delighted with every phase of the work - from the initial visit by Chris, the marketing manager, through the professionalism of the crew, to the follow-up visits by both the owner of the company, Jose, and a return visit by Chris to ensure satisfaction. I would highly recommend this company.

Patio and storage shed turned out very nice. However, salesman provided different information about storage shed than actual project manager agreed to (cost, fire stops, etc.). I didn't like being caught in the middle of miscommunication between company employees. 3/17/2017: Storage shed is supposed to be water proof, but there was water in shed after 1st rain storm. Was told that would be fixed last week, but nobody contacted me yet. 4/26/2017: Waited 5 more weeks. In addition to water problems in the storage shed, the door warped. So I'm unable to lock it for a day or two if I open it right after it rains. Have contacted contractor several times, but they give every excuse in the book for not coming back to fix the issues. I've lost my patience. Bottom line: They're more interested in starting new jobs than they are in fixing issues with old jobs. Watch out!

I did a lot of research prior to hiring JK General. I obtained quotes from 8 different companies before decided on JK General. They were not the cheapest option, but I was convinced that the job would go smoothly and any issues would be swiftly tackled - and I was right. Having used Home Advisor to suggest contractors, I asked for a quote from JK General and was quickly contacted by Chris Gonzalez Cingolani. Chris was flexible in arranging an appointment and was on time. Unlike other companies I felt that Chris was not in a rush to do measurements, give the quote and move on; instead, Chris answered my questions, took time to understand the concept of my project and made it clear he wanted me to be happy with whatever I chose. He did not use any pressure tactics. He left an initial rough quote so I knew the ballpark we were talking about. A few days later Chris sent through a professionally prepared sketch of the patio design I had described to check he had the right concept along with a detailed quote, clearly delineating the cost of each feature. I was still obtaining quotes from other companies, but Chris sent through a revised sketch when he understood the concept better. It was clear to me that if I went with him he would ensure I got the product I wanted. He sent a team of guys within days of me signing the contract and the project was completed on time and to a high quality. The few issues we had during the work were quickly addressed by the contractors themselves or by Chris, who regularly came by to supervise the progress. The team were courteous, listened to my requests and adapted as they went. Two weeks after the project was completed, Chris came by to check if everything remained up to standard. I pointed out a couple of minor adjustments and he immediately agreed to fix them. I have no doubt that during the next two years, if I have any issues with this patio, Chris will ensure they are addressed immediately. If I do any more work to the house JK General will be top of my list to contact.

JK Contractors did a great job on our patio. We had a badly cracked and sunken patio that desperately needed replacement. With talking to Chris and going over a few ideas of how to lay out the patio and how much patio we wanted he cam e up with a great plan and look for the pavers. The workers worked tirelessly jack hammering up our old slab on very hot and a couple rainy days with a ton of dust in the air, but they didn't stop. We are now so happy with our new paver patio and our neighbors are all envious of it. We now love to be in our back yard having dinner or just drinks. Can't wait for the winter when we can sit around our fire pit and drink our warm cocktails on the new patio. I have already referred JK to other neighbors that need a patio or just concrete work.

They were a joy to work with

JK was great with the design recommendations and communicating the changes that came up during the process. Very timely with the work. They did everything they said they were going to do.

They did two walkways and a set of steps in my back yard. The base was concrete with pavers. They were careful and the finished work on the pathways matched my expectations. The steps exceeded expectation. They worked even in the hottest days I would hire them again.

Chris successfully managed the project from beginning to end. The new flagstone sidewalk installed was of high quality and completed during the time frame requested. Highly recommend this company.

We hired them to do our deck and patio. Deck was completed impeccably last year and waiting to hear back from them to complete the patio now.
