Professional and prompt.

I got a copy of the first of many contracts starting at $25,000+( later adjusted to over $42,000) , I carefully looked at the charges, ($14sq/ft for oak floor etc) 500 to change a light in Dining room. I agreed to let them start the drywall and remove the damaged oak floor. When I asked them to not put in my Oak floor ( I got Brizallian for less $) GARY the project supervisor got "pissy". They started being verbally abusive, my husband talked to USAA headq and MR. Jenkins brother took over. It all went downhill from there. It toook less than 2 months before all (two floors) of celing repairs cracked all over, yes, every seam on two floors were cracked. Jenkins told me to wait for the end of their 1 year warranty to fix, because they only repair 1 time. I refused, I asked USAA to return (now almost 8months later), I also asked Stafford County Building Inspector to look at the drywall cracks. Stafford county told me this was horrible work, and agreed to return when USAA and Jenkins planned to return together. Jenkins told the Building Inspector the cracks were my fault because I changed paint colors, because I was difficult to work for and went on and on, Stafford county building Inspector told them If they did not honor their work warranty that they could have difficulty pulling more permits in the future. Jenkins reluctantly ( after storming out and insulting me ) came back with a different crew. They refused to replace my basement celing but did replace my main floor celing. The crew they hired from Maryland to remove the cracked celing laughed at the poor quality, however, they STOLE my son's cell phone. Later I had a over $1,000 sprint bill when I realized this, sprint agreed to exponge the bill. My new celing in the main floor look great. I didn't have the mental strength to deal with the basement celing battle with Jenkins. DO NOT EVER EVER SIGN A BLANK CONTRACT WITH JENKINS, RUN DO WALK AWAY.

We still have problems with leaking and the siding that they put on does not match. They left ladder marks on the siding and we don't think they really knew what they were doing. They did a great job on the bay window but the leaky window and the bad siding really keeps us from being satisfied. They came out a bunch of times and they were pretty persistent in trying to get the window the work.

Following a catastrophic house fire (100% insurance loss of structure and contents) a month before I had to leave the country for military deployment, my insurer, USAA, recommended Jenkins as specializing in post-fire reconstruction. Jenkins had someone come out the day of the fire (during a snowstorm) to cover the building, worked with me throughout the next month to finalize reconstruction planning, then oversaw the entire rebuild while I was deployed overseas, communicating with me via e-mail and photos to keep me up to date. (My colleague checked the building site every couple of weeks for six months and was impressed with the high quality of subcontractor work and the neatness of the worksite.) I'm sorry to hear about the other customers' negative experiences; for my part, I couldn't have been happier with Jenkins' quality of work and choice of subcontractors. I will absolutely call them again next time I need any home renovations done.

In the end we got what we wanted, but only with meticulous oversight. Jenkins removed our entire first floor's flooring before they obtained stock to lay new flooring and we lived for 10 days walking on the exposed substructure; when they hung new dry wall in the basement they covered up our heating vents-fortunately during the three days it took for us to catch the error we did not turn on the heat; they forgot entire work items in the signed contract and had to be called back to the site after they said the contract had been fulfilled (to clean house's air ducts, install door stops and lay vinyl flooring).
