Estimator and service providers were on time, professional, and friendly; priced well; work was completed on time.

Charged $1,100 for two workers for one day. One was a helper and didn't really know what to do. The painting is OK, but the helper did not get all the storm windows and screens back on the windows at the end. I will get bids from other painters before I use them again.

They were great! Alberto, the project manager, was wonderful. The crew was excellent, arriving on time, getting right to work, and working until the job was completed. They even pulled seven-day weeks! I tell everyone that will listen about how great the service and the end result were while working with Home Works Painting.

This company is the best group of painters we've ever used. They were extremely conscientious about protecting the floors and furniture and were very polite and friendly. They showed up on schedule and completed the work as promised. A real plus was the fact that there was a team leader on site so you had one person to go to with questions/concerns and also someone to keep an eye on the workers and the work to make sure things went as promised. The price was not the cheapest estimate we had gotten, but you get what you pay for. As this was the highest quality paint job we've ever gotten, it was well worth the expense. We would not hesitate to use this company again or to recommend them to others.

They cleaned up so well you couldn't even tell they had been there. We had some light bulbs missing and they even installed those for us. They got in and out in the time they said they would be done. Our neighbors saw the work and wanted to use the company as well. I also plan to have them do the outside of the home.

Poorly Sent out 5 guys for a full day. Cost a fortune. Very little exterior painting needed as very little exterior wood on house. Tried to charge me another $1200 just to paint a few shutters. While they were here they permanently damaged my screen door, broke lock and screen. They cleaned all their brushes in my grass in front and back yard. I have a utility sink they could use. No one on crew spoke English so I could not communicate with anyone. It was awful!

It turned out fine. We are under a stress mode here with company coming and they were scheduled for later. Since we had beautiful weather this week they were able to come out earlier. They sent three guys the first day and five the second so they could finish in two days. We had a concern because our windows were trimmed in aluminum so they only needed to paint the window frame. They matched that up very well. They took just a short lunch break and it seemed that each person knew exactly what to do. They gave us a 5-percent senior discount and were very accommodating when giving us the estimate. Their price was comparable to one quote we got but a little higher than two others. I would say they gave us the going price for what we got. We very pleased with them.

Company arrived on time, wasted no time in preparing exterior wall to be painted. As stated before, scraped old paint away from surface, primed wall before painting the exterior wall. Very professional, overall nice job.

JR, the field supervisor, arrived on time, reviewed the work to be done and provided a quote within 24 hours. We made some small changes to the contract and agreed on a start date. The Homeworks team arrived on time, worked quietly and efficiently during some of the hottest days this year. They used the best paint available (according to Consumers Report) and applied two coats to all surfaces. Just as important, they kept paint off the surfaces where it did not belong. The paint crew did not smoke or play loud music while working. We provided them a cooler of cold drinks while they were here. I was pleased with the work and will hire them again when needed. Our experience could not have been better.

I got a referral from a real estate agent on the Vienna Moms board raving about this company. I called for an estimate and was treated very professionally. JR came out for an estimate. From speaking with him on the phone, I could tell he was very experienced and seemed professional and straight forward. I asked about the prep work for the shutters before painting. He said they would be thoroughly cleaned and sanded before applying paint. Got just 1 other estimate since it was a small job and Home Works was about $50 more, but I felt more comfortable with the professionalism of Home Works thus far and went with the higher bidder. Day of, guy came out and said someone was supposed to have dropped off the paint for him. It was not here so he said he was going to go get it and be right back. Hours later, I called JR and left a message asking where the guy was. He finally got here and just used a dry paintbrush to dust off the shutters and started painting them. I asked him why he wasn't prepping how JR and the written estimate said they would with sanding and cleaning thoroughly. He said "Aw, you don't need it. This is good." I admit, I should have pushed further here, but I didn't, I would have been late for picking up my daughter. By the time I had gotten back he was done. He missed some spots and politely went over the spots I pointed out. It looks fine now, I am just worried that it won't hold up since the surface wasn't prepped right (thus the "C" for quality). I gave a "C" for value since I didn't get what I paid for. The price for the job was an A, if the prep had been done. Without that, the whole job just took about 1 1/2 hours so that is a super expensive hourly rate. Wouldn't use again since they used a subcontractor and didn't insure painter abided by exactly what was promised for the job. Too bad to, since the front office and estimator were great to work with.

Home Works is a fantastic company, with very professional managers and work crews. Mike Katounis came out and gave a detailed estimate, and provided a very reasonable discount for work scheduled during the slower winter months. The field supervisor and work crews were professional, knowledgeable, very experienced, and responsive throughout the process. We had the entirety of our basement walls, trim, and ceilings primed and painted, water stain remediation and painting in our kitchen and den, and an upstairs bedroom repainted. I was particularly impressed with the crew's experience, friendly demeanor, professionalism, and attention to detail throughout the job. In all the rooms painted, the crew sanded, primed, and fully corrected a series of preexisting imperfections, making the walls look like new. The job took several days due to the extent of work involved, and the crew was always very punctual, efficient, tidy, and not at all intrusive. They would give us an hour advance notice before starting to work on another room (which was particularly helpful for our planning purposes in the kitchen and den areas), and would consult with us on their progress along the way, to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. Most importantly, the crew took great care with their work and our home in general throughout the process - they were meticulous and thorough, treating our home as if it was their own. We have hired Home Works for two other exterior painting jobs, and were equally impressed with them and their results each time, and have emphatically referred them to family and friends. We will certainly hire them for any home painting jobs in the future!

All went well. Most of the work was done in one day. The deck was cleaned one day and then stained several days later.they kept e informed about when the work would be done.

The work crew was excellent, did not waste any time goofing around, was polite and very accommodating. They communicated their progress and confirmed any action that they took. They did an excellent job and completed it in a shorter amount of time than was originally estimated. Observations on my part revealed a crew that worked hard and adhered to producing a quality product. Additionally, I had to reschedule the painting work a couple of times because of an emergency hospitalization and subsequent treatment, and Home Works Painting's management went out of their way to make certain that my job could fit in before the weather turned too cold. All in all, it was a very good experience and I would recommend them to anyone...and, in fact, I have already recommended them to several friends. I plan to use this company to do some interior painting for me in the future.

Home Works Painting is an excellent company. I'll look them up for future large paint projects. I received a prompt response and evaluation for painting all of the interior rooms of a home. This was a large interior job which included several rooms, ceilings and a lot of trim. The team arrived on time and conducted their business as one would expect of experienced professionals. They had a very experienced team lead and a roving manager who checked on the work the first two days to ensure everything was proceeding as required. The team was courteous, worked hard, and tried to meet my timeline needs. They cleaned up well enough that I had only minor cleaning to do in spots on our wood floors. My only issue was an unanticipated additional charge for room prepping that was provided after the paint team realized they would have to do some additional work to prepare some of the walls to their satisfaction (work that was all appropriate).

The overall experience was a B+. I was not happy with the original color of the stain which did not match what had been used before. Fortunately they only applied a small amount and it was fairly easy to correct. The cap rail on the was replaced and the workmanship was not satisfactory. After a couple of attempts to satisfy, they did agree to start over with a new cap rail. They are very eager to please, and the final results were satisfactory.

Mike Katounas came out and gave me a fair and professional estimate in July. When I was ready to sign the contract, I was given an estimated target date for the job for the week of August 13. I had a free color consultation with Karyn Bowen a few weeks later. Karyn was very pleasant and helpful to me. The crew was able to start the job on August 14, a little earlier than expected because their outside job was delayed by the weather. They worked all day on Tuesday. They then had to complete the other outside painting job on Wednesday. ( There was no mess or inconvenience to my house during this day off) The crew of 4 showed up at 8:00AM on Thursday, worked all day and came back on Friday morning and completed everything by 12 Noon. The crew was punctual, friendly and hardworking and did not waste any time when they were here. They each had an area they were responsible for and I was surprised how quiet they were.... hardy any talking the whole day. You wouldn't know there were 4 guys working but for the movement of equipment! They cleaned up and vacuumed after each day and there was never any disruption or inconvenience to me or my house. Communication was very good with Mike and his foreman before and during the job. (phone and email) I was very pleased with Home Works Painting and would definitely have them back again and recommend them to anyone.

Home Works Painting provides excellent, professional, customer-oriented and quality service from initial inquiry through to final billing. We have used them twice in the past several months for both interior and exterior work. Mike is very friendly, responsive, and prompt in providing estimates, the prices quoted are reasonable, and the team of painters is professional, efficient, and do quality work. We have been very pleased with our experiences with Home Works, and we will continue to refer them to others.

Mike Katounas (owner) was very prompt and professional in all aspects of the job starting with the estimate right through to ensuring everything was accomplished to our satisfaction. Any problems we encountered were handled immediately and to our satisfaction. The crew that worked on our house were professional and very pleasant to work with. The only thing we needed to watch was sometimes the attention to detail lapsed (paint on the floor or hard to reach areas not completely painted) but they were always taken care of when we pointed them out. I would completely recommend House Works Painting and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Mike the owner was punctual for the estimate. I received estimates from 3 companies but decided to go with Paint Works because my job wasn't that big so I preferred a smaller company, the painters are employees not subcontractors, the paint manager (whatever they're called) is English-speaking, Mike responded quickly to my email, and Mike seemed more professional than the other painters I reviewed (in this day and age, there's no reason any business should have an AOL email account). The work was a two day process. Because the painters were employees, I felt comfortable providing the workers a spare key the first day and going to work (I didn't feel I needed to stay home to supervise painting). At the end of day 1 the workers tidyed up the paint area and left everything clean. At the end of day 2 it was like paint fairies had been at my house-no paint spills, no paint residue, no drywall dust anywhere just fabulous freshly painted rooms! The painters left the spare key and Mike emailed me an invoice in order to mail payment. Overall, it was a very smooth process and I'm so glad I joined Angie's List in order to find a painter instead of trying to use Yelp and being totally overwhelmed.
