Green Pest Services

Initially signed a "contract" (without penalty for cancelling after first two services) because I had a large hornet's nest in a tree in my backyard that my husband and I were afraid to tackle ourselves, and salesperson told me they would get rid of the hornet's nest as well as other pests (carpenter ants destroying a tree and carpenter bees working on my deck) within that contract. All followup visits (in addition to regular quarterly visits in case you see pests between visits) are at no charge.

These guys are very knowledgable and helpful. We have a contract with them for quarterly service. They have an automated system that notifies you a few days in advance before the tech arrives and gives you a chance to reschedule if needed. Aside from the regular treatments they'll come out as needed to remove wasp nests, etc. Excellent service. They also offer an indoor treatment which we choose to decline.

We have a lot of ants and other pests and a year ago we changed to Green Pest Services. We pay less money, have fewer insects and have a company which we can contact whenever there is a problem and they will respond. Bottom line is this company does what they say they'll do.

We moved into a new home last year and retained Green Pest Services on a quarterly basis to prevent pest problems. I can't stand pests of any kind, and wanted to prevent problems before they began. We were immensely pleased with the first two quarters of service -- BEFORE we had any pests. The customer service representative kindly called and scheduled the first two quarterly service dates, asked if we wanted both the outside and inside sprayed (or just the outside), and I was able to arrange to be home at the time of service with the payment ready. The technicians arrived on time; were courteous, kind, and professional; and, most importantly, were incredibly thorough with their spraying and their explanation of service. Once we actually had a pest problem, the level of service went completely downhill. The third quarter came and went, and no one from the company called to schedule our regular service. We did not receive an invoice indicating service had been performed on the outside of our home (and clearly, no one came inside). I assumed that their schedule was thrown off by our crazy winter weather, and I didn?t worry about it. About two weeks into the next month (when I was going to call and schedule the quarterly service anyway), we began seeing moths on the fourth floor of our four-level town home at a rate of about 3 to 5 per day. The first technician who responded insisted that the source of the moths was grain and oat products, which were all stored in the kitchen on the second floor. We had not observed the moths in our food, flying out of our kitchen cupboards, or otherwise in the kitchen. He hypothesized that they were escaping from the food on the second floor through the ventilation system to the fourth floor. (He also got a little pushy about whether I was being truthful about food storage in my home.) He said that if we got rid of all of our food and thoroughly cleaned the kitchen cupboards, the problem would most likely go away. However, there was a slight chance that one of the moths had built a nest on the fourth floor, and that the moths were not flying up to the fourth floor, but rather hatching there. I asked him to look for the nest, but he said there was no reason to look because the food was the likely culprit. If I threw away the food, and still had moths in 5-7 days, call back, and they would look for a nest. I called back 7 days later. We had thrown away ALL the food in our kitchen that was not in a sealed glass jar, cleaned all of the cupboards, and saw no evidence of any moths in the food or the kitchen. Two very good friends who were willing to double-check for us confirmed this. However, the rate of moths on the fourth floor increased to 6 to 10 per day. I requested that a different service technician come out and take at least 2 hours to look for the nest. As dismissive as the first technician was of the problem, his hypothesis clearly had merit. The customer service representative agreed with me, understood my frustrations and concerns, and arranged for a technician who was known for being especially thorough to come out and look for the nest. I was confident that this problem was going to be addressed. In preparation of the technician's visit, we moved furniture away from the walls and set up a ladder so that he could access the ceiling corners, vents, and the attic in his search for a nest. I was beyond disappointed. The technician -- who was fabulous when we did not have any pests, and whom I thought was here to look for the nest -- refused to look for it. He arrived in the last 10 minutes of the two-hour time window and left my home within 15 minutes of arriving. I expected him to be here for 2 hours! He explained to me that the nests are "nearly impossible to find" so "there is no reason to look." Instead, he sprayed the area with a sterilizing spray that he assured me would kill the moths that were hatching and prevent those moths from laying more eggs. But, it would not affect the existing nest or nests, as any moths that have hatched in the meantime could have laid even more eggs. That did not seem to concern the technician one bit. I asked where we go from here, and he said if the problem was not better in 5-7 more days, they could come out and spray again. Beyond that, we would have to retain another company to "bug bomb" our home. Three days later, the problem was so much worse, we were at our breaking point. We stopped counting new moths at 30 in less than a 24-hour period! And, none of them were dying from the sterilizing spray. My husband searched for the nest, and guess what, in 2 hours -- yes, 2 hours! -- he found it. Using the ladder we set up for the technician, my husband found the nest tucked up in an air vent on the ceiling of the fourth floor. That is all I wanted Green Pest Services to do: take 2 hours -- with the ladder we set up for you -- and search for the nest. It is not impossible, and they could have looked. I have retained another company to remove the nest we found, and guess what? They are actually going to look and make sure that there are not any more! When I called Green Pest Services to inform them of this and to cancel my quarterly service, I was informed I have an outstanding balance for the last quarterly service I thought they never performed. So, they never notified us they were here and never sent us an invoice. However, I am making the payment and closing the chapter with this company. Hopefully, they can return to the excellent customer service they once provided.

They were fine at pest control, altho some are a bit less expensive.

When I called the provider, I was told by a different rep on the phone that they had no office where I had moved and that I could not transfer my service. I was also informed that they had performed a quarterly service on the very day that I called and that I would owe both for that service and a cancellation fee. After much discussion and several placement on hold while the rep consulted with someone, I was told there was nothing they could do and apologized for the inconvenience of having gotten the wrong info from their sales rep.

They applied their treatment all around the house perimeter and closed the gates when done. The one time I called them for a problem we had with wasps inside our house, they came out right away and took care of the problem. Very professional people.

Very thorough. Remove wasp nests and mud dobbers when doing quarterly checkup. Product is organic and safe around pets. Used dust in bored holes along roof line to rid of pests. Performed other routine pest control at level equal to or better than others.

We switched from PermaTreat to Green because we were very dissatisfied with their service. PermaTreat did not visit our area often so they were very inflexble with scheduling and when I called the office to complain about our technician they did not respond to my complaint. Our technician from Green (Alex) is very accomindating and and does a thorough job. I am very pleased with their service and would reccomend this company to any one who is looking for a good extermination company. CLIENT 9145

Very professional and effective. I was surprised by how knowledgable each person was. I've had 2 treatments so far and each one found bugs that I didn't know about. Joey found ants that were entering my crawl space from a crack in the mortar. They were clean, efficient and the materials used were very effective. Highly recommend them.

Tech very friendly and answered all questions. Previously called to treat paper (ground) wasp in several locations. I treated myself last year and could not get them all. Green Pest Services took care of the wasps in one treatment. Very pleased with service and will renew for next year.

Since the initial treatment, a month ago, I have not seen centipedes, ants, crickets, or wolf spiders in the house. Prior to signing the contract with Green, these pests were becoming a problem.

Green Pest technicians are always prompt, efficient and friendly. If an unexpected problem crops up, they will provide service very quickly at no extra cost.

Christopher the technician came promptly within the time zone that was given. He dressed professionally. Asked if we were having any issues that specifically needed to be addressed. He reminded me several times that call backs are at no charge, should anything arise. He slipped on little plastic booties over his work boots before walking in to the house. He was in and out in less that 15 minutes. Job well done!

Service providers seem to go beyond the norm in polite and friendly service. Very pleased overall. Only problem I have experienced is their recorded phone reminder system in advance of service. I had wanted to request attention to wasps underneath deck railing, but a call came in from them and recording did not say anything, so missed ability to request this. Had this problem once before. But I am sure if I call them they will come back and do it responsively.

Always a good experience with Green Pest Services. Their technicians and managers thoroughly explain their process and what, if anything, they found. They are always prompt, courteous, and friendly taking special care with furniture, carpets, or anything that could get damaged. I have called them out on a couple of special trips between quarterly servicing and get their usual professional attention. All of the Green Pest team are great to work with from technicians, to managers, to the office staff. Special kudos to Chris, one of their senior technicians, who has worked with me most often before he was promoted. I highly recommend Green Pest Services.

I called them to do a complete house treatment for bug extermination. Including Basement, shed, main house, and around the outside of the house as well. Especially for Spider and ants. I have not seen any of these creatures since they did the job!

They called a day ahead, and came when they said they would.

Firm provides solid quarterly service, and was very responsive to a call from us expressing concern that we had found a carpenter ant nest. Technician came out, determined it was just harmless mud daubers, removed the nests at no charge. Would definitely recommend them.

I recently switched to Green Pest because of their outstanding service. What made me switch is their comprehensive treatment of spiders including web removal. In a four story town home this is no small task!

Not sure yet since today was the first treatment, but the the service person, Tim Edgiell, was very nice, professional, and curtious.

I was having a problems with centipedes inside my home and called to get serviced as soon as possible. Green was able to send a service technician that day and he came and performed service on the inside of my home. He was very efficient and thorough and seemed to find where I would see the centipedes the most. Since he came, I've only noticed one centipede and I'm sure they won't be seen inside much anymore. The service technician was very friendly and removed his shoes when he came and was very polite. He was also knowledgeable in knowing where they were coming from.

We have a larger than average home - and have used a couple of other companies over the years. Green charges more than most other companies for their "basic" service, but they include much more work and cover more pests than others did for their "basic" program. (for example, they included carpenter bees, whereas both of the other companies wanted to charge an extra fee for them. Overall it has been a good service. There will always be hiccups with any service company, but the few we've had fall within reasonable expectations. We receive calls the day before service is performed, and have noticed the spiderwebs are gone when we come home from work. Not the cheapest, but definitely recommend these guys for a premium service. You get what you pay for.

Signed up, the tech came out and did his work. Both people I talked with were very nice.
