FASHION FLOOR & CARPET

Within a few months of installation the grout began to crumble. It was fixed twice and it still was a problem Finally we had the kitchen redone with another company and they found that the sub floor was not properbly installed Plus, Fashion Floor used nails instead of screws. We then had a problem with the rugs bunching up. Called fashion Floor and they sent people out and when they got here, t ey said they were never here before. Called Fashion Floor and the business could not find our records.They wanted to know who we made the check out too. At that time we could not find our cancelled check and I asked, "How could a business not have records of it's subcontractors"? He again asked who I paid. We eventually did find the check and it was made out to "Fashion Floor". By then the warranty had expired and we were out of luck unless we wanted to pay them again. Not in this lifetime. We had another company come and strech the carpets and this company also said the carpet was not installed propertly. They have two strikes and I will not give them a chance for a third. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau who do nothing because I did not want any more resoluation form "Fashion Floor" I just wanted this business on notice as being, in my opinion, a bad one. Use them at your own risk.

I went in with a sample of our old carpet that had to be replaced after our basement flooded. We looked at several options together. There was no pressure to use a particular product, although the owner was up front about which ones were in stock and could be done for less. The owner offered to replace the carpet on the stairs for free so that it would all match. (Our insurance only covered the part that had gotten wet). The price seemed fine. They came the same evening to measure for the job. They were able to come out only a few days later to install all of the carpet. Problem free. I did not ask for other estimates since I knew what I needed to pay and this fit. So possibly it was an amazing bargain - I actually do not know! They did not charge extra for moving furniture, pulling up the old carpet and taking it away. That seemed great to me. I loved doing business with a small family-owned shop rather than one of the big companies out there. I hope I don't have to replace carpet again soon, but I would definitely go here first!
