Description of Work: Let me try to provide an abbreviated version. Our townhome has T-111 wood siding on the upper half and plywood with stucco on the bottom. I hired Evergreen to reside the house with new T-111 on top and Hardie plank 'stucco' cement board on the bottom. The house is 40 years old and there was some rotting wood issues. They were cheap - about 55% of other quotes. This scared me, but I have some minor background in construction and mostly work from home so I figured I could keep an eye on them. I also figured that if they did something wrong, I could some of the many of thousands of dollars to fix it. |Well, the short version is that they attempted to nail the new cement board over top of the rotting stuccoed wood on the front of the house. Luckily, I was working from home and saw what they were starting to do. When I called them out, they acted put out but did it properly after I called and 'convinced' the owner it was not proper. On the back of the house, I was gone that day and they actually nailed the new siding over the old. They cut an outline to frame the deck post that abutted the house and caulked it. I am not making this up. When I called them out again, the owner told me that they couldn't do it properly b/c of a deck post - (mind you, he gave me the estimate after looking at the house). I again 'convinced' him it wasn't proper and they ripped it down, leaving the house with nothing by house wrap for a week while they waited for the Hardie plank they knew was special order. These guys think caulk is a structural material. Ironically, they only place they didn't caulk was where it was actually needed. After they were done, we had some ants come in the house. I inspected the siding and found some significant gaps at the low point of the cement board siding - some larger than caulk should be used to seal - so I bought a can of spray foam to seal the larger areas and then caulked the whole thing and repainted the area. |Finally, the job included the replacement of the entry door and sidelight since the originals were not energy efficient and drafty. Their first pass resulted in the door not being able to be latched without throwing your shoulder into it. My wife couldn't get enough weight behind it to close it. You guessed it. When they adjusted it, the door now did not get a proper seal when closed with light coming in along the edge of the door. So now we have a brand new door that required weather stripping to for an air barrier. Bottom line, I would avoid these guys. They are cheap, but you will not be happy with the value. | | |

Description of Work: I called and gave an explanation of my roofing matter. I recieved a quote. I had to call them back to define the scope of work because they did not listen the first time. I was told there was an installation date. They never showed. No call. I called them. They said they will come out to get an estimate. I was under the impression this was already done. I waited another 3 weeks. They made another appointment and again a no show. I called again. Finally we had someone come out to the house. He walked in the house without knocking. I was shocked. Then I called the company to talk to an owner and no one EVER called me back. I work in the construction field and this was the worse service, customer service, expericence, etc I have EVER HAD!

Description of Work: They repaired the drywall and restored parts of my basement after it had flooded.

Description of Work: They came out and fixed a leak from all the ice on the roof.

Description of Work: Requested them to do roof repair estimate but they would not come out to my home unless I would be there to meet them. Why do I need to be there just for them to do the estimate? It's not like they have to get inside the house. They said I need to be there for the estimate so that I can "tell them what to do." ??? That's why I'm hiring out, because I don't know how to do this myself!

Description of Work: Chris conducted an eyeball estimate and was evasive answering questions during this process. He failed to provide written estimate as promised. When reviewing the estimate over the phone three weeks later, Michael could not seem to handle interruptions and corrections. His side of the story will be that the customer was rude and used a demanding tone. The customer's side of the story is that both company representatives failed to make a good impression by realizing that the customer has all the leverage in this kind of relationship. If they cannot handle any kind of disagreement or discussion when exploring the possibility of gaining a new customer, you can be sure they'll be in denial and unresponsive when performing the work or heaven forbid, resolving a conflict afterwards.
