(member name removed), Enterprise Contracting wasn't notified of your Angie's list message -- these messages are not automatically forwarded to us. Angie's list messaging is not a means of communication we are accustomed to using for client inquiries. Generally clients call us or requested a quote from our website at www.enterprisecontracting.com. If you could give us a call at 703-961-1044 we would be more than happy to discuss your project

We recommend ECS for kitchen remodeling. Their multi step planning resources really helped us visualize what the end result was going to look like. Their employees were very knowledgeable and did a great job. Their designer was great at helping find material that looked expensive and unique but was still close to budget, we’re very happy with how it looks in our kitchen. We had to change a decision that we made on the backsplash and they were accommodating to that as well. Our custom island is absolutely beautiful. The carpenter and project manager were very helpful in helping us design the details that made the island look unique and elegant. They were also flexible when we wanted to make changes to the island or add more detail. Our project Manager was very personable, helpful and communicative. We have an update via email every night that allowed us to plan for the next day. We’re looking forward to enjoying our new kitchen with beautiful detail.

Construction during June-August of 2010 was on pace for completing by Labor Day. There was a screw-up with the subcontractor that made the screens, so the screens could not be installed until the end of November. So we didn't get to take full advantage of having a screened-in porch until the following Spring. There was a screw-up with permits that was not Enterprise's fault - - but Enterprise's actions (or rather, inactions) exacerbated the problem. Apparently, in providing final approval of the work specified in the construction permit, the county (Fairfax, VA) is certifying that all aspects of the house satisfy "the rules." Apparently, sometime between the mid-60s (when the house was built) and mid-80s (when our neighbors moved in) some previous owner extended the carport by two feet - - so the carport didn't meet the setback requirement (that is, it was too close to the property line). The carport was not near where Enterprise built the deck and porch - - but getting a variance for the carport was a necessary step for getting the county to give final approval of the project specified in the permit. Enterprise told us they would handle the situation. They didn't do a d*** thing. And we came within about week of losing our opportunity to submit an appeal to the zoning board for a variance on the carport before Enterprise admitted that they hadn't done a d*** thing. Thirteen months later (and after spending close to $5K in lawyer's fees) we got our variance. Once the variance was approved, we were able to schedule the "final inspection." The inspector identified three problems (involving connecting the deck/porch structure to the house, connecting rails around the deck to the crossbeams (?joists?) that support the deck, and a hand rail on the stairs. We had already paid Enterprise every penny we owed them, so I was afraid that Enterprise would drag their heels on these final fixes. (Our contract didn't make final payment contingent on the County's final approval, and our lawyer for the variance advised us that we didn't have a legal basis for withholding the final payment.) So I was really impressed that the reaction when we called Enterprise was “Fabulous! When can we come out?” They came out within days (during the week between Christmas and New Years) to fix those deficiencies. On the next visit, the county inspector gave us the final approval! My takeaway - - I'd use Enterprise again. But... I'd keep them on a really short leash for anything involving the county bureaucracy; I'd also include penalties for delays because of their (or their subcontractors' ) screw ups (the screens); and I'd make the final payment contingent on the County's final approval. Okay... everything I've written up to now involves glitches late in the process - - and things that most of Enterprises customers will not encounter. So - - why did we choose Enterprise - - and why do we not regret that choice? They got back to us when we called the first time (24 of 30 firms we called did not). They listened. And they listened well. Their initial schtick (and that of their competitors) was 'how to create an outdoor space as cheaply as possible?' We wanted to get as much "nice" as we could afford, Enterprise seemed to "get that" more than their competitors did. They offered arrays of options - - with associated price tags - - so we could find our balance of "nice" and "affordable." We had multiple rounds of them presenting designs and us reacting. I think we ended up with a very happy balance of nice and affordable. I do not regret one penny of the additional amounts we paid for the tile floor on the porch, the fir ceiling, the trex on the deck, or the wiring for convenient electrical outlets. For us, where it counts, Enterprise delivered.

We are thrilled with the end result. We found Enterprise at the Dulles Home Show and we spoke with the owner Andy and Paul the VP of Operations. After talking with them both we felt they were the type of people we wanted to do business with so we went with our gut. In the end we have no regrets and we honestly feel we would not have achieved the same results had we gone with a different contractor. Probably the best thing I can say about them is they were very honest and were willing to do whatever it took to make sure that the job was done to our satisfaction, I do not think you can ask for more. One of the reasons we went with Enterprise was because we did not know exactly what we wanted and they were patient and helped us throughout the entire process. Lisa the designer spent a lot of time working closely with my wife providing ideas and advice. She was honest with her opinions and not afraid to tell us we should not do certain things based on her understanding of what we were looking for. Lisa was a key in achieving the look we wanted and we have received many complements on the design and workmanship. We had one Project Manager from start to finish. Tonia was totally engaged and did a great job managing multiple other Enterprise projects to the point where we felt like we were her only customer. We saw or spoke with her daily and she was on site during all the critical phases during the projects and available whenever we needed her. We had one subcontractor during the entire process that was not up to standard and she and Enterprise addressed it expeditiously and corrected all issues. Tonia did a masterful job representing our interest holding all the sub contractors to a very high standard ensuring work was done correctly while at the same time representing Enterprise interest. She also gave us great advice along the way which kept us from making mistakes and enhanced the end result. She worked very well with the subcontractors which is critical to a projects success although I do not think they were very fond of here use of blue tape where she found things that needed to be redone or corrected :). Another key element were the tradesmen and suppliers they used. We were very pleased across the board with the materials we picked out and they used along with the high skill level in their respective areas. They were all very professional and pleasant to have in our home. Jerry the electrician, George the plumber, Jani who laid the tile (amazing), Larry and Dan along with all the "in house" people Willie, Omar, Richard and John who were skilled in all areas did the rest and were all exceptional. Over all the 3 bathrooms project took longer than expected but this was our first major project with a general contractor. Many decisions had to be made and these things take time so we learned a lot along the way. We went over the estimate but we knew we would going in and that was our decision and all material upgrade related there were no "surprises". What we learned: - It's construction, its not pleasant, it does not always go as planed but the result was worth it. - The more you know about what you want the faster it will be and you can get your contract price more accurate. - Understand your contract and what is and is not included. Go over it carefully so that you and the contractor have the same expectations. - Understand what materials are included in the contract, upgrades in materials cabinets, tile, granate fixtures etc. are cost above those. - Changes may or may not cost depending if you are adding or taking away. Discuss with contractor prior so you are all on the same page come settlement time. - Be pleasant with people and they will go out of their way for you. - Be involved, catch things early and bring them up as soon as possible. You will get frustrated, take a breath and sleep on it than discuss it calmly. - Try to have 1 person in your family be the representative. My wife was my filter, she was involved every step of the project, worked the issues and kept me from reacting which can spoil the relationship between contractor and homeowner.

From the very beginning I have nothing but praise for this company. From the architect who worked with me to develop a design that met the goals of my project, to the design consultant who walked me through the process of choosing cabinets, flooring, lighting, decorative tile, and paint colors, to the project manager who met with me weekly to review the progress to date and plans for the upcoming week- they all were great! Each person that worked on my project demonstrated a level of committment and pride in their work which added to the level of quality that this company provides. Enterprise was respectful that I was on a very tight budget with this project and worked to stay within our contract with very little variance. They kept the worksite organized and clean, and were not wasteful of supplies. I really appreciated the time and respect they gave me as the homeowner throughout the entire process, from concept through completion. I was referred to Andy Riley, President of Enterprise Contracting from a neighbor who also had work done by Enterprise and gave them great praise. I visited and spoke to several persons on their reference list who all gave positive feedback. The deciding point for me was when one family said that they had just signed their second contract Enterprise and were starting their next project the following day! She was upfront with saying they would not be the least expensive estimate I would get but I would not regret going with them because of the work they do. My new addition is absolutely beautiful, beyond what I had ever envisioned! I am so happy I did this project and chose Enterprise Contracting as my contractor.

It is long past time that I provide a review for this exemplary service provider. The short version; If you need some work done - call these people for an estimate! You can thank me later! Over the past several years my wife and I have called on Enterprise Contracting on three separate occasions for assistance and services - and they have delivered 5 STAR performances each and every time. After our initial experience we can hardly imagine going anywhere else. Our first experience occurred when we were dealing with significant water damage after the water pipe to our washer had burst (yes, this does happen - and it is ugly). The damage was fairly extensive (Kitchen) and the interaction between our insurance provider and potential contractors was a nightmare until Andy Riley and Enterprise stepped in. Mr. Riley gathered up a tabletop full of estimates and messy paperwork and said "I can help you with all of this" - and he did. Damage was repaired, insurance support was well-coordinated - and we got our house back - this time with reinforced water connections to our washer. Our second experience was a major master bath remodeling. We collected several estimates but easily selected Enterprise for this project after our previous experience. We were most concerned about all the tile work that we wanted done, knowing that tile work is such a specialty. Our worries were quickly alleviated after meeting his tile man and watching the care and craftsmanship which he put into his work. The final remodel was magnificent and we will soon be calling on Enterprise for another bath renovation. Lastly, and most recently, our roof began to leak above our sunroom. Trying to do our due diligence we collected three other estimates and then called Andy at Enterprise whom said he would send someone right out. The rep from Enterprise came out and spent considerable time looking at both our interior damage as well as up on the roof. His assessment of the situation was quite different than the other roofers whom had come out - and his assessment made much more sense both as a solution and economically! I now feel that the other roofers were just trying to sell me a new roof. Anyone whom has ever had contractors come out to their home know that most of the time you simply don't know what you are going to get. These companies always seem to be in a state of flux and change with workers coming and going. Alternatively, Andy Riley is the owner of this company and a finer individual you will not find. He runs his company like a professional business, not just some loose group of tradesmen. Enterprise Contracting has now come out to our home on three different projects and I can attest to the quality of both the people and the workmanship that they had delivered for us each and every time. Three cheers for these guys! Call them!

UPDATE (JAN 15, 2014): Andy (the owner) and his most senior team member contacted us on 13 December , profusely apologized, and outlined the actions they had taken to correct internal communication issues. Andy was very professional, and asked for the opportunity to re-earn our trust and business. We agreed to meet with Andy and his team after the holidays. We met on 10 Jan to review their ideas and proposal for our renovations. They have an OUTSTANDING DESIGN TEAM and PROCESS, including a great capability to render 3D views of proposed design, and make real-time changes (even substantial changes) based on our questions and ideas. VERY HELPFUL for envisioning design options. They are then able to quickly turn the proposed design into a new project cost estimate. They have a wide range of moderately-priced tile, fixtures and accessories to choose from. Andy also explained that they include a completion date guarantee in their contracts, with cost reductions if they fail to meet the date. We have not yet made decisions on what work we want, but have no residual concerns about the company's responsiveness or timeliness in work completion. I would definitely recommend Enterprise to friends. ---------- INITIAL REVIEW: Extremely frustrating. We wanted to like this company - nice presentation at recent Dulles Home Show, first meeting on 4 October was professional, courteous and promising. However, we've spent the last 2 months unsuccessfully trying to get a copy of the promised proposal. On 2 occasions, Mike Colie (the rep we first met with) scheduled to meet with us at our home, and failed to show up both times. No one contacted us to tell us he would not be able to make it, or to reschedule. When I called the company, I was told Mike was out sick, and would get back to me. After 2 weeks, with nothing heard, I called again on 18 November, and was told Mike would call me back. Nothing heard. I called again on 19 Nov, and 22 November. I was told that Mike had sent me an email (I never received anything). I called on 26 November, and Mike answered the phone. He said he would drop by that afternoon to drop off the proposal. Again, he did not show up. When I called, he told me he had car trouble, and would email the proposal to me. I sent him an email to ensure he had a good email address, and he promptly responded that he received this email. Mid-afternoon on 27 Nov, I still had not received the proposal, so sent yet another email to Mike, and he told me the server was down (though he was able to email his response to me). I also spoke with Stephanie (the scheduler) on several occasions and asked her help. On 3 December, I sent email to Mike and Stephanie, asking once again that they forward the proposal, and received no reply. Finally, on 6 Dec I sent an email (and received a read receipt) to Stephanie, asking to be put in contact with the company owner. I still have not heard back from any of them. From my own experience as a retired Navy Captain, and former commanding officer, I am sympathetic to the myriad of problems that can confound even the best and most diligent efforts to deliver goods/meet mission. Clear communications go along way toward mitigating. To date, Enterprise Contracting has not appeared to make any consistent effort to deliver promised services, keep me informed, or simply respond to my phone calls and emails. Very frustrating when we are only talking about receiving a proposal -- potentially intolerable if we had construction underway and had encountered any questions/concerns.

I appreciate your taking the time to write such a clear an concise review, but more importantly I greatly appreciate your willingness to accept my call upon reading your comments and giving me the chance to discuss your experience so far. I'm glad you accepted my offer to come into our showroom to explore the design options for your bathroom, in conjunction with the proposal that you were provided. As mentioned when we talked, I thoroughly apologize for your experience with us so far and it is in no way the standard manner that we treat our clients. I just wanted to reiterate that I plan to do my best to earn your business and I look forward to meeting you in person. If there's anything I can assist you with before we get together, please let me know Andy Riley, President Enterprise Contracting Services, Inc.

Work started on time and finished within one week of estimated completion date. Andy, the owner, and Patrick the designer came up with a great proposal and made good suggestions. The Project Manager, Tonia Burns, was excellent and kept everything on track. She checked on work being done every day and was available by phone, text and email. Designer Lisa was very helpful in picking out tile, cabinets and fixtures. Tonia also was very knowledgeable about design aspect, made great suggestions and helped with purchases. The tradesmen were very skilled and always cleaned up before they left. The floor people did an amazing job matching the existing hardwood floors. Robert was the cabinet man and he was very skilled. Jerry the electrician got everything up to code. Everything on the finishing punch list was completed to our satisfaction. George even repaired a scratch on the refrigerator and you can't even see it. The kitchen is beautiful and a pleasure to use. The finished product was beyond our expectations. This was our second project with Enterprise (we had them redo our master bath) and it was a good experience both times. We will definitely use them again.

We had a storm door installed a few years ago by another contractor. Our storm door fell off of the frame and pulled the frame away from the house. Enterprise came out and explained how this happened and reassured me that they could correct the problem. They were very professional. Mitch did a great job. The job was done timely and to our complete satisfaction. He was able to salvage our storm door, so we didn't have to incur additional cost. We were so satisfied with the work and the follow-up, that we had them replace our front door as well. Again, it was done when was promised. We had follow up phone calls to make sure that we were happy with the work. It was very obvious that customer satisfaction was their number one priority. Another job by Enterprise that we are very satisfied with. We would recommend Enterprise to anyone looking for a professional home improvement project.

Mike came out and he was very friendly and professional. He said we would have an estimate in a couple of days. The estimate never came so we emailed and called them and nobody got back to us. We made probably 3 attempts to contact them after they came out. We thought it was very rude that they never got back to us. It may have been too small of a project for them, but they should have just told us that upfront. ***UPDATE*** We recently learned that there was a miscommunication between the company and us about the method of communication that we were going to be using. The owner of the company called and was very apologetic, hence the grade change. When they did realize that there was a communication issue, they were very responsive and quick to handle the situation. The owner was very good regarding this situation.

Very responsive from the get-go, sending a crew on a Sunday for emergency support. Provided detailed plans and options, and demonstrated willingness to consider all possibilities. Involved us at every step of the process, listened to our concerns and ideas. Took into consideration the impact that the project would have on our neighbor, and worked with them to assure that Enterprise Contracting would address any issues. Identified and consulted with engineering specialists and requested proposals to share with us. Prepared detailed plans and pricing. Showed flexiblity with change orders. Periodically called or sent emails to determine whether assigned personnel were meeting our expectations.
Description of Work: Shortly before 4th July, a major storm knocked-out the retaining wall in our backyard. Due to steep slope, our home and work shed were threatened. Enterprise Contracting immediately sent a crew to clear the collapsed debris off the hill, Sunday, which endangered my neighbor's property, and they secured the shed from falling over. A major relief from potential liability and additional damage. Andy Riley personally worked for us trying to get the insurance company to cover--policy exclusion from water and ground movement. He then focused on finding a low cost solution. The traditional engineering approach, replacing the retaining wall, was prohibitedly expensive. He explored several options--ultimately settling on not replacing with a single large wall, but re-terracing the hill with several smaller walls--in effect returning the slope to its more natural contour. The result was a much more affordable solution with the same degree of protection. But the biggest surprise? The backyard is more attractive from a landscaping perspective. We actually gained more backyard and enhanced property value. Turned a personal disaster into a property improvement!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your initial meetings with us. I appreciate that you feel that our process was more than you think was required for your project, but we believe that the best way for us to convey to our clients what their remodeling project will look like when it’s finished is to spend the time to take measurements in your home, draw up the area that needs improvement and work through the design with our clients to try to arrive at the best solution for their needs. As you know, we then provide a fixed price proposal that you can take with you to examine at your leisure. No pressure, no hassle. We’re simply trying to be clear, completely free of charge, what changes you want to make to your home and assist you with our design and construction expertise. We’re very transparent in our proposals as to where the costs are originating, so that our clients can make the final determination as to what they want to do or not do. We weren't actually trying to “wow” you with our presentation. It’s a very clean, professional presentation that we feel is simply the best way for us to arrive at the design that our clients are happiest with and still works within their budget. After clients get their proposals, if they want to look at reducing the cost of the project we work with them to modify the design or scope of work to reduce the costs, and if you would still like to pursue that please let me know. Best Wishes, Andy Riley President Enterprise Contracting Services

Enterprise is owned and run by Andy Riley. We were in the process of looking for a contractor when we received mailed advertising from the company. We met with Andy and his designer at our home and they were most helpful with design ideas. An interior decorator had done a beautiful job redecorating the previous year and we needed our kitchen updated to match the same quality of the rest of the house. The kitchen design included removing a half wall that separated the kitchen and family room, the removal of a center island, "toothing in" hardwood flooring in those areas to match existing flooring, closing a hallway that led from the kitchen to the dining room and moving location of our appliances, and adding more cabinets and counter space, and adding some shelves and cabinets in the dining room where the hallway had been to match existing cabinets. Enterprise did not give us the lowest quote for our remodel, but overall gave us the best value. I spent 30 years in the Army and asked Andy for references from other service members. I thought it would enable me to speak more frankly with the folks Andy had done work for. After speaking with several fairly senior Army and Navy service members on Andy's reference list, i had a good level of comfort in proceeding with Enterprise. The renovation took longer to complete than expected. The project manager for the job had a death in the family and that delayed the work somewhat and there were some problems with the custom cabinets that we ordered from a supplier in Minnesota that Enterprise had just begun to use. Some cabinets had to be reordered causing further delay and some frustration. However Andy stood by his word to get things right and to our satisfaction. At the conclusion of the job my wife and I were at the 100% satisfaction level. In the year since the project ended there were a couple of minor items that needed a touch up or an adjustment. The caulking around the crown molding needed to be redone in a couple of places and a door needed a minor adjustment. I contacted Andy and he sent someone right out to take care of those items. We are very pleased with the work Enterprise did for us.
Description of Work: Enterprise did a complete kitchen remodel to include the design.

They were excellent. We had one of their light fixtures, it was an LED special recessed lighting and it went out this week. They came this morning and replaced it with no charge. So they went out of their way. We have a one year warranty on everything and even though that was 4 years ago they still did it with no cost. They are personable and good people that does good work.

Very impressed with the service. They called a day ahead of the scheduled date to confirm the time. On the day of the work they phoned again to say they were on the way. The work was completed in a timely fashion and right on budget. The work area was cleaned up nicely upon completion. Could not be happier with their service.
Description of Work: Installed Waterfall gutter guards.

I was referred to Andy Riley at Enterprise Contracting because he came highly recommended from my parents who just had a large renovation performed. I called the office and was able to speak with Andy right away. He helped me understand what I was asking for, and arranged an appointment to come out to my home and consult with my wife and I on the project. We met with him the following week, and he was able to help us in several different ways. The biggest was providing us with the practical and effective side of what we were trying to figure out which took a lot of stress off of us. The customer service at every level was the best I have ever experienced.
Description of Work: Total renovation of my kitchen. Planned, and executed a large project.

BAD EXPERIENCE - NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE...Wonderful sales staff and meeting to sign the work order and for us to hand over initial payment. After that, a series of different groups of men worked on our house...some workers claimed to be subcontractors...These workers were in and out of our home. Some days workers didn't show for 3-5 days and then after calling they finally came back. The customer communication and service was horrible. I had to push for answers. There was no sense of continuity and many mistakes were made. The man who was supposed to be managing our job, was hardly around. I had to call and e-mail the owners non-stop to get the work done. I was finally done, but it took forever and the attention to detail was not there. I felt like I had to complain to get work done. If you want headaches and hassles, use this company. I had to clean up after all jobs....Worker's trash was everywhere and cigarette butts...This was a nightmare. This wasn't normal home construction stress...I have had that before...this was just a plain awful experience. Epic Fail.

It was an outstanding experience. The cost was reasonable and the quality is definitely there. They use the best materials, were punctual and the workmanship was great. The floors and crown molding look great. They took the time to make sure all of my furniture had felt pads on all of the legs to prevent scratching the new wood floor. That is above and beyond service!
Description of Work: Enterprise Contracting Services installed hard wood floors in my living room, dining room, and front hall. They also installed crown molding in my living room and dining room.

The insurance company just wanted to have ServPro out to dry out the carpet and to give my mother in law a few thousand dollars in compensation. The entire kitchen (including ceiling dry wall) had to be replaced. Since it was three days before the water was turned off the drywall completely came off of the walls in the kitchen and the ceiling collapsed. All of the carpeting in the entire house was replaced also. The insulation in the crawl space also had to be replaced. I was glad that Enterprise Contracting Services stepped in and worked with the insurance company so that my mother in law was able to have her home restored after such a devastating event. I felt that the quality of work performed by Enterprise Contracting Services was outstanding. They provided excellent customer service and really acted as an advocate on behalf of my mother in law when dealing with the insurance company. I would highly recommend Enterprise Contracting Services to any one based on my experience.
Description of Work: Enterprise Contracting Services did a complete rehab of my mother in laws complete main level and half of the upstairs after a broken bathroom pipe that allowed water to flow freely for three days while she was not home.

I have know Andy for almost 10 years and during that period has his company Enterprise Contracting, do several different projects. Each time Enterprise has provided me with clear written estimates for my project that spell out in detail exactly the work that needs to be done. He is not always the least expensive, but normally he's pretty competitive. For it's very important to deal with reputable builders who will make sure the job gets done right the first time. Of course nobody is perfect but I have been impressed with the folks at Enterprise. When I needed them to come back out and correct some small details that I wasn't completely happy with. I recommend them to my friends and colleges and so far I haven't had any complaints. Next year I plan on doing a kitchen in my home and I will definitely call Enterprise Contracting to give me an estimate.
