Collegiate Sealers & Paving

First time using them. A few days after the service I noticed streaks on my driveway, obviously from the sealant not being evenly applied. Called them this morning and expressed my concern, I believe I spoke with "Len". He told me to take pictures and email them to Collegiate and they would determine what should be done. I told him I don't usually get home during the week until after dark, they want to see the pictures first ... apparently they don't come out and just address the issue. I wish I had not sent in my payment already. Learned my lesson. I hope my review helps others make their decision of what company to use.

Collegiate Sealers & Paving resealed my driveway and I'm very pleased with the results. I'm definitely using them again at my rental home. Good work Collegiate Sealers & Paving!

Great communication regarding scheduling and rescheduling due to weather. The work was done as promised while we were at work. When we returned and noticed a few small areas that were not sealed, someone came out quickly and fixed it without question.

It didn't. Based on the glowing Angie's list recommendations, and that of my next door neighbor, I contacted the company over a month ago to initiate the process, and was promised that an estimator would be by our home within 7 business days, and that an estimate would then be emailed to me. Two weeks later, I called to check up on the status of the estimate, and a very harried man answered the phone and said they were "very backed up." I asked if they were too backed up to even get around to helping me with my little driveway project, and he said, yes, we're very backed up. In other words, we don't need or care about your business. Very disappointing. So now, I'm a full month behind the eight-ball on getting the work done and now having to find someone else to do the work. The ironic thing is that my next door neighbor had his resealed by Collegiate today! I told the man on the phone that it's too bad their company wasn't more coordinated with their logistics because it woudl have been the easiest thing in the world to do both driveways that are right next too each other at the same time... and he didn't know what to say. He apologized for not getting an estimate and said that one of their estimators has been out of town for a while. So, I'm not very impressed at all by their lack of professionalism and efficiency. I'll look elsewhere.

We've used them before and had good results. This time produced good results again.

They kept on delaying things and they were a little bit hard to contact. They got it done eventually and they seemed to have done a good job. Price was competitive. We talked about three different sealing companies.

Crew came when promised and provided service in accordance with the agreement. I had one crack which is now gone. I am very satisfied.

Outstanding! Estimator was very professional, Michelle coordinated and was very professional, excellent interpersonal skills and very attentive to customer needs. Larry was the team lead that put in the new driveway and he was highly competent, professional and did an excellent job.

Provided gutter cleaning and also provided feedback on the condition of the gutters as well. Scope of work is just cleaning, not repair.

All went well from the first contact. Dan visited promptly and provided a detailed estimate. The crew arrived on-time on the agreed day and did a great job. The old drive came up quickly and they prepared the base before putting down the new asphalt. The guys did a great job and created a beautiful drive to replace the 20-year old cracked driveway. We were especially impressed by the neatness of the edges and how well they created the joint between the garages and the drive. They cleaned the site thoroughly before leaving. If we ever need a new drive we will use Collegiate Sealers of Chantilly.

I received a reminder notice to reseal the driveway. I took few pictures of the driveway and send it to Collegiate sealers. After they reviewed the pictures No Need for repaving the driveway just reseal it. It was easy and pleasant to deal with this company. Driveway was sealed nicely no mess. Wall and garage door were clean no sealer marks. Driveway looks new again

Guys showed up around 9:45 even though they weren't supposed to be here until between 11 and 2. This didn't cause us any problems but was unexpected. They sealed the driveway and went on their way. Driveway looks great. I will definitely use them again.

After the initial seal coating, they got asphalt all over the bricks we had along the driveway for landscaping. Also, some of the asphalt came up and was not properly sealed. On April 12, 2016 they came to clean the bricks, and attempted to fix the unsealed part. However, they just further damaged the unsealed area. When they came out a third time on April 26, they got asphalt about 5 feet up our garage door that had been newly painted, on the side of our house, and on the cement part of our garage. They also got asphalt on the bricks again. They said a clean up crew would come out the week of May 2, but they never showed up. On May 5, they told me they had equipment and weather issues and couldn't guarantee when someone would come out. Overall this experience has been horrible and messy. I would not recommend them.

Work was done quickly and efficiently. However in less than a year, a sizeable crack formed from one side of the driveway to the other and the right side of the driveway was crumbling away. We contacted Collegiate and were told the issues would be resolved when the first sealing (free) was completed. However the sealing just masked the issues and over the period of a few months, the crack reappeared and continued to grow while the right side of the driveway continues to crumble away. Twice Collegiate reps came out and said nothing else could be done. Then on a third visit, a crew member spread a tar-like substance over the crack and left a container of it and said to reapply it (with what?) every other month. The seal doesn't really do anything than draw more attention to the crack.. We used the FFX County consumer's guidebook on recommended driveway vendors but now we'll refer to Angie's list for a new vendor.. Hard to believe this driveway has deteriorated so much in a couple of years after our sizeable investment. The salesman was nice and professional but the followup? Not so much....

Collegiate Sealers filled all the cracks and sealed our larger driveway. Very professionally done and no spillage onto adjoining brick or flagstone. Driveway was clearly blocked off when complete ensuring no one entered. We will definitely use them again.

Yesterday, March 1, 2016, was a beautiful day with not a cloud in sight after 8am. No one showed and the company did not contact me. I won't do business with occasional liars.

It was really cheap. They did miss some spots around the edges. The sealant wore off in some places.

Collegiate Sealers and Pavers did a fantastic job from estimate to completed job. Although Collegiate said it could be up to a week, we received an estimate the day after we called to request one. My husband was home for the estimate and was impressed with the individual and his explanations. After receiving the estimate from Collegiate and another company (I called a few places, but some places never got back to me), I called Collegiate to learn more about the work that they would perform and the contract we would sign. I spoke with them on a couple of occasions. They provided detailed explanations of the work they would do and why they were doing it the way they suggested. On the phone, they were always professional, helpful, and responsive. On the day of the job, a crew of 3 or 4 men arrived on time. They immediately got to work and quickly ripped up our driveway without damaging our sidewalk, grass, and bushes/plants. We had a small sink hole that had developed. They filled in that area so that it would not happen again. Once they finished there was no mess left behind. The driveway looks great and we are thrilled with it. Next fall, they will seal the driveway. We have a small driveway, so had to pay the minimum charge for a driveway replacement, which was due after they completed the job. They explained that they have a minimum charge to make it worth the time to bring out the crew and heavy equipment. They did extend a small portion of the driveway (made one tiny section wider) without charging any extra money, which we appreciated. Overall, I will always recommend this company and use them. Their customer service and professionalism was Outstanding (some of the best we have ever received from a contractor). The workmanship was also Outstanding. We are extremely pleased with Collegiate.

They were on time, they were neat, and they did a good job, at a very reasonable price.

Initial resurfacing did not go well. It was done hastily and with seemingly little care or quality control. You could literally see large areas where the original driveway surface was still visible because it had not been adequately resealed. The company was very responsive after I forwarded pictures to them of the less than adequate job that had been done. They sent a team out very quickly to redo the driveway and it was done properly and with great care the second time around. Driveway looks great. I must admit that the team leader for the redo seemed disgusted and angry when he came to redo my house. Perhaps he was just having a bad day - but regardless, the redo was flawless. The advice I have is don't arrange any appointment that yiou are not personally there to inspect the results of while the team is still onsite. I would think twice before using Collegiate again but probably would hire them if I took my own advice and was at home to inspect their work while they were still onsite.

We were initially very happy with the work (which was done while we were gone). The driveway looked wonderful. My husband then noted that there were some black spots from the sealer on our vinyl siding. He contacted them via email about this and received no response.

They did such a great job! Came as scheduled and work was performed excellent.

We were not satisfied. Many cracks remain. They didn't take the time to fill in the cracks. They were gone in about 20 minutes.
