 + -1 moreIt is a one car garage townhouse and it is connected to another driveway. I had called to ask if they would trim the grass on the side of the driveway and they said no, so my husband and I weeded some areas, cleaned and brushed the concrete well before their arrival. We were not home when the workers arrived, but the product looked well done when we returned. We would recommend using this company, but would also tell homeowners to clean away debris ahead of time. The company also had to reschedule once, due to rain. They called promptly and made a new appointment. UPDATE: We used this company again to seal our driveway in 2014. We actually called to get a "bulk" deal with 4 of our neighbors. All of the driveways were completed in the same day.

 + -1 moreThis company provided what I thought to be a fair estimate on 10/18/11. I called back the next day and told them I would like to retain their services to seal my driveway. I was put on the schedule for 10/28/11, due to their own busy schedule. They then called me the morning of the appointment to reschedule me due to weather issues. i was rescheduled to the 30th (today). Unfortunately they called me back again today and wanted to reschedule me again, and were planning on pushing my appointment a full week, behind all the other appointments they have scheduled this week. I explained to the person calling me that I should not be placed way at the end of the line due to weather. He refused to push the schedules back to fit in a customer who has been waiting for their service since the 19th of October. So, I decided to cancel the appointment. I recommend if you don't want to get jerked around by this service provider, that you look to someone else to provide driveway sealing services. D. Nicholas Annandale, VA

 + 0 moreDid a good job preparing driveway and applied seal quickly and effectively, except had to encourage them to fill in long crack existing along front of garage and along sidewalk between asphalt and concrete. they got gap along garage, I later put some fill in crack along sidewalk to prevent erosion of asphalt and stop grass from growing in crack. Overall, very good job and excellent price.

 + -1 moreThey did an excellent job. My driveway was a tricky job because there were multiple surfaces to match the height with (two walkways and the driveway apron), a steep slope (about 30 degrees) and a retaining wall at the end of the driveway that prevented their paving machine from reaching all the way to the end. They did an excellent job, they had all the right equipment and executed the job quickly, skillfully, and they were not expensive. Before I had the driveway repaved I had random guys stop by late in the day saying, "I've got an extra load of asphalt from job just around the corner, I'll repave your driveway right now for $2500". They would have done a terrible job and then disappeared. Collegiate Sealers charged me $2500, did a beautiful job and they say they'll be back in a year to seal it. Even if they never come back I've gotten a great deal.
Description of Work: They removed my old crumbling driveway and laid down a new one.

 + -1 moreWow - my first referral from Angie's list and it went off perfectly. The two young men who came were polite, efficient, neat and thorough; the finished product looks great and is a deal. They arrived about 8:00 am (handing me an invoice that I could pay today or mail to them within 7 days and that noted pertinent and helpful info) and got right to work cleaning the driveway and edging for grass. The line for our dog retention system runs in a small groove across the driveway and they were very careful with it. I waited for them to knock to tell me they were done - but they quietly went on their way. How easy is that!
Description of Work: Driveway was cleared of debris, dirt, etc., and then sealed by hand.

 + -1 moreThey gave me a very reasonable estimate (less than I ever expected) to re-seal the entire pipestem. For the price, I expected them to just reseal the damaged area but they did the entire pipestem. Looks like new! They were always on time and answered all my questions. The final cost was the exact same as the estimate.
Description of Work: My pipestem was scratched up by a moving truck that bottomed out on the hump from the street into the pipestem. Collegiate Sealers resealed the damaged section and the rest of the pipestem to make it all match. gave me a very reasonable price (less than I ever expected) to re-seal the entire pipestem. For the price, I expected them to just reseal the damaged area but they did the entire pipestem. Looks like new! They were always on time and answered all my questions.

 + -1 moreI have never dealt with someone as rude as Andrew. I do not know what he does but his customer service quality is lousy. We had done business with the company for three houses and I had arranged to pay for it thru my online banking. When I called to schedule for another job, Andrew answered the phone and he was so rude. He stated that if I do not take care of the payment then they will not come out for the next job and I told him I had sent the check he said "that is what you said a couple of weeks ago" and hung up on my face. When I checked with my bank, I found out the check was cleared by Collegiate a week ago. Because of his rude attitude I am taking my business somewhere else. This is no way to treat a customer. I called again and complaint to Thomas and he apologized for Andrew's behavior but they lost me as a customer.
Description of Work: They did asphalt sealer for three properties and the quality is good. However I am not happy with their customer service quality. If you ever contact them AVOID dealing with Andrew. Very rude and not professional at ALL.

 + -1 moreCame out a week before and inspected my driveway. I had some cracks and wasn't sure if I could just sealcoat or if it needed repair. They walked me thru the possibilities and recommended just the sealcoat at this time. I was happy there wasn't a push to upsell me and felt that they gave good advice. I had several mailers from competitors - they provided a reduced estimate (not quite matching the lowest offer but I thought they looked a little sketchy anyway.) A week later they showed up on time, quickly and effeciently applied the sealcoat.I'm a happy camper.

 + -1 moreExcellent service. They were on time, completed the work within less than two hours and cleaned up their mess. We had several large cracks that required sealing. Once the original seal dried, these cracks were not completely filled so we called Collegiate to come back out. They not only came back out and refilled the cracks, they resealed the entire driveway, all for the original cost.

 + -1 moreI thought that a quote on sealing a driveway would depend on how long your driveway is. I was surprised that they were willing to give me a quote over the phone without seeing how long my driveway is. My driveway could be a mile long for all they know. The quote was for $94 and it had cost much more than that when my wife and I had sealed the driveway ourselves about 5-6 years ago. I thought that it was a very reasonable quote and didn't have to think hard about it at all. What stood out to me was that they didn't have to come by and see my driveway to give me a quote and the speed with which they could come here and do it. They are going to come and do it with just four days notice. They said that they would come and do it and leave the bill on my door and I could just mail them the check. I would be interested in seeing how they come and do the work since there is a crack in my driveway.

 + -1 moreLess than five days after I contacted Collegiate Sealers for an estimate on a driveway re-sealing job, Mr. John Payne paid us a visit and provided us a quick but thorough estimate. In addition to his estimate, and explanation of what needed to be done and why, Mr. Payne provided us a company portfolio. Folks, this is NO ORDINARY COMPANY, the men and women at Collegiate Sealers are absolute professionals! The portfolio included a thorough explanation of various sealing/paving services offered, several high-resolution "before and after" color photos of previously accomplished jobs, a copy of the company's Virginia Contractor's License(!), as well as a copy of their Insurance Coverage(!). In 34 years of my life, I have never seen or heard of any contracting company going the distance like Collegiate Sealers and Pavers did with that portfolio. My wife is in the advertising business and even she was amazed at the quality portfolio we were provided by Mr. John Payne. Collegiate Sealers and Pavers have a customer for life. Description of Work: Collegiate Sealers send two professionals to re-seal our driveway and patio. The two gentlemen arrived on-time, introduced themselves, explained to us what they came to accomplish and how, as well as how long it would take to finish. The weather that day was extremy hot (close to 103-degrees) but the men went straight to work. First they thoroughly swept, then power-blowed the driveway clear of any and all debris. Afterwards, one treated surface cracks while the other quickly went back to their work truck and poured the sealing compound into a 5-gallon bucket. The workers allowed the crack-filler to settle, then began applying the driveway sealant by pouring it onto the driveway from the bucket. Once enough of the sealant was poured on the asphalt, one of the men used a large squeege to smoothly and evenly spread it out all over the driveway. Feeling the heat myself, I jumped into my truck, leaving the two workers and my house/garage open and unattented, and drove to my local BP gas station to get a few cold Gatorades for the two workers. I came back roughly 15 minutes later, and the driveway was almost completely covered in sealant from front to back, and side to side! They went over the driveway several times with the squeege to ensure the sealant was even and uniformly coated all around. While the driveway was being finished on the edges, I asked one of the workers if he could look at and provide me an estimate for our small patio, located behind the house under our 2nd story deck. The gentlemen explained that although he could not give provide me an estimate he would go ahead and reseal the patio as well for a small additional charge. I was very pleasantly suprised at this, as most companies ask you to schedule another appointment! I quickly accepted his offer and went home to grab my checkbook to pay the two men for their work (I received a receipt upon payment). An hour after the two gentlemen showed up, my driveway and patio were beatifully and professionally re-finished and looked as good as new. The driveway became the talk of the cul-de-sac that same evening as three of our neighbors came out to look at our driveway. It has only been a few short weeks, but the driveway/patio look absolutely awesome. The work is covered by a two-year warranty but I do not expect to ever use it =) P.S. The "After Collegiate Sealers" photo from May 2011 shows tiny mud spots her and there...but the culprit behind those is our Beagle-Foxhound "Spikey" who just couldn't wait to go running around his new driveway two days later! It rained a little so his paws got muddy and he trampled all over our new black driveway =)

 + -1 moreA very good friend recommended Collegiate Sealers when I was looking to have my asphalt driveway resealed. She had used them in the past and was very satisfied. I contacted them through the website and they were incredibly responsive getting back to me within 24 hours to schedule a free estimate. The estimator came out the same week and left the estimate at the door with a note to call them to schedule if I was interested. I called because I thought the price was VERY reasonable. They came out sooner than I would have thought possible and did a great job- sealing the driveway and putting up a barrier to keep people from parking on it. All communications were prompt and courteous. The team was on time, friendly and helpful. The price was very fair. They did a fantastic job- my driveway looks almost new! I wish more companies were this easy to work with - 5 stars with no hesitation.
