Owner is very easy to work with. Left detailed voice mails, spoke on the phone directly, and met him at my home when they started working on my deck. I am amazed at how "new" the deck looks; didn't realize the amount of dirt build up had obscured the natural color. The board replacement matched exactly. No damage to my plants, grass, or deck from the power cleaning or power cleaning solution. On the day that the deck was sealed, it was humid and rain came early during the afternoon so I noticed some milky spots on the deck. I called Mike back and explained my concern. He replied "no problem" and had his staff reseal the deck to be sure everything was properly covered. Everything looks beautiful. Mailed him full payment check upon completion.

They did the pressure washing on October 23 and the sealing on October 30. The pressure washing was excellent; the operator was very thorough and professional. After waiting for suitable weather conditions, they returned to do the sealing. I was quite apprehensive to see that they applied the sealing material with a common garden sprayer. I had visualized a power application which would have provided more penetration of the sealing material. Also, I was told that the sealing material would be maximum gold, but they actually applied a mixture of clear and the maximum gold. When I questioned Mike on this he said they both had the same sealing capability.

They did a very fine job and were professional in their work. They did what they said they would do. The deck looks better now than it ever has.

It was a really good experience. I called and they came out and did an estimate right away. They came back and did the work when they said they would, and they did not charge more than they said they would, even though they had to go over something again. They were very good.

Good price, able to schedule work quickly and fit us in before an event we were having. Everything looked great!

I got a quote within two days. Since all the work was on the exterior of the house, I didn't have to be home for this quote. The quote looked good, so I called and requested their services. They came out within the week and power-washed the deck and house. Then they came out a day or two later and sealed the decks and fence. A little over a week later I got a bill that was actually a few dollars less than the estimate.

I emailed the owner on a Saturday night, he got back to me on Sunday. He provided an estimate on the phone (initially I just wanted my deck cleaned and stained). The owner and his crew arrived at the arranged time. After reviewing what needed to be done, I asked if they can also deal with the wood rot and painting. He provided a revised estimate immediately. The work crew power-cleaned the deck and returned the following, working day to stain and do the other work, which took all day with a team of two. Highly efficient, very professional, honest, no nonsense. Unlike contractors I've used in the past, did not try to take advantage of our inexperience or lack of knowledge. The workers not disrupt our routine in any way. The owner made sure the team got off to a proper start and stayed engaged throughout the process.

The job went well. I was concerned that they would spill stain on the composite flooring material. They didn't spill anything.

I chose American Power Clean because of Angie's List ratings and come to find they did my deck before with the previous owners. I didn't price shop them against anybody else. Mike, the owner scheduled the estimate appointment for the next day. He arrived as promised and gave me a estimate on the spot. We have a two-tier 500 sq. ft. deck on the house and about 300 sq. ft. of wood walkway around a cottage in the back. His estimate was $750.00 and his crew could start the next day. He called me that day to tell me they were still finishing their current job and couldn't make it and we re-scheduled for the following day. His crew arrived as scheduled and did a beautiful job of cleaning and prepping the deck for stain. After the deck dried out for a few days, they returned and applied stain. The next day I noticed that the workers had left stain footprints on our brick walkway and there was one spot on the deck that was missed or didn't absorb the stain evenly. I notified Mike of the problem and he sent out a worker to remove the footprints and re-stain the light area. After they came by to do the repairs, I noted that the lower deck (where the lighter area was) was now darker than the upper deck. I called Mike again about the two-tone look and he sent out his workers to correct the problem. They came the next day and re-stained the upper deck. It now all matches and looks beautiful. I'm completely happy with the work. I've always said, the best way to judge a company's integrity is to see how they handle a problem. American Power Clean stood by their work and didn't quit until I was satisfied. I know in the "real world" things happen and nothing is perfect. I would have liked to given American Power Clean an overall "A" rating, but feel it would be fair to other companies that get it right the first time. They definitely earn an "A" for effort. I'll use them again the next time my deck needs maintenance.

My experience with them was excellent. The price was reasonable. I did some comparison. He was able to come right away. He showed up immediately with a written estimate. His workman came on the day scheduled. They provided more than was requested. They cleaned a small shed and some bridges over a spring which was not in the contract. They cleaned up. They were very considerate of the plants around the house.

Our deck, porch and siding needed an overhaul prior to a large BBQ I was hosting in July to welcome my husband home from Iraq. The initial quote was for the power washing and sealing, screen repair was added on since it needed to be done and I figured with the time constraint I didn't have time to get additional estimates. It made sense to have Mike's company do it since they were already there. I made it clear why I was having the work done and the timing - about 2 weeks to get the work done. Mike is friendly enough and seemed professional when he came to do the estimate. He also seemed like he was in a hurry. Work was started soon enough - first came the power washing of the house/deck. It was not explained what product would be used to wash the house and deck, I only found out later that it was a 4% bleach solution. This apparently works really well, but since the laborer didn't cover any plants or let me know to cover our plants, the hydrangea I received from my daughter's wedding was damaged/killed in addition to several other shrubs and plants in our landscaping. The laborer also failed to clean our driveway once he was finished - cleaning solution had been poured down the driveway and left stains. Mike eventually reimbursed me for the price of a "similar" hydrangea but this problem could have easily been prevented. FOUL! Initial deck treatment was done a couple days later and my reaction was "Are you kidding me?". It looked like the solution was either really watered down or the person applying it had never done it before. Drips, spots and a lot of areas that were just not treated at all - did they run out of solution I ask myself? After I told Mike, deck was treated 2 more times before I found it acceptable. Screen repair job was adequate although there was some damage to one of our screen frames and the screen door was re-hung incorrectly - working door pretty vital to an outdoor BBQ for 60 people! Don't know why the workers left it the way they did. DOUBLE FOUL! Door was fixed the day before the party! Mike's responsiveness to our complaints was acceptable, but for a total investment of $1300, the frustration we experienced was not. All of the issues with this job could have been avoided. The customer should not suffer because the owner can't supervise his own workers or instruct them to take precautions to protect valuable landscaping and clean up adequately.

I thought that they did a fine job. They came on time and did what they said they were going to do. I was satisfied with the finished product and I would recommend them to others. The pricing was around average.

Left a message for owner Mike, who contacted me the next business day to let me know that he'd be dropping by the next day to do an estimate, and would also provide a specific recommendation on which color and type of stain to use on the deck, all of which happened as he said. (BTW, I let him know that I'd called him based on his company's rating on Angie's List and he said, "I can't tell you how much business Angie's List is giving me"). He left an estimate of $750 ($350 for the power cleaning of the house and deck/$400 for the deck refinishing/staining). On the appointed day, the company's worker came to power scrub the house, and the job he did was basically perfect. The entire house was scrubbed literally spotless, and even though I checked from every angle of all sides of the house, I didn't see one area that hadn't been cleaned well. Also, the deck had been thoroughly power washed/scrubbed in preparation for the coming deck cleaning (which was scheduled for the next week.) Again, on the scheduled day, the company's worker came and did a terrific job staining the deck. I didn't see any missed spots, drips or sloppy work. Small details were all taken care of, including painting around our hose holder, awkward-to-reach stair surfaces, etc.; it was all handled extremely well. All in all this was the kind of experience you really hope for, but never expect to happen. I'm all too happy to broadcast this company's superior performance because, well, they earned it.

They responded promptly. They gave us a reasonable estimate. They came and did the job and we have no complaints. The workers seemed to be kind and courteous.

Estimate was done the next day. Returning calls left on answering machine however usually took 2-3 days.

Wow! Best job of power washing I've ever had and I do it annually!

I called and spoke to Mike, who arranged for the deck to be cleaned the next day. The worker arrived as promised and performed a thorough job. The deck was very clean and ready to be stained. I arranged with Mike to have the deck stained a few days later, after the weekend. A team of three workers arrived on the agreed-upon day, but after staining half the deck they left without explanation. I didn't hear from Mike the rest of that day, and when I finally reached him the next day he told me that they had run out of stain, and would return later that day to finish the job. Indeed they did return later that day and finished staining the deck. When I returned home the first thing I noticed was that the metal house numbers on the back of the deck were painted over. Not a big deal, but annoying nonetheless. I also noticed that the deck just didn't seem evenly stained, with some areas very bright and others looking like bare wood. There were also quite visible stain drips around the edge of the deck. I called Mike and left a message describing these issues. He didn't get back to me until later the next day, but when he did he was very responsive and assured me that the work was guaranteed and he would do whatever it took for me to be satisfied with the job. He stopped by my house the next morning and looked at the deck, and his team returned later that day and applied a second coat of stain to the entire deck. They also cleaned the stain off the house numbers. The difference was amazing - the deck looks absolutely magnificent after the second coat of stain. In hindsight, I don't think his workers were sloppy the first time - I just think the deck needed two coats of stain because it had only ever been stained with a clear stain before. I am giving this company an A despite my initial dissatisfaction because Mike addressed my concerns and in the end I have a terrific looking deck for the price we originally agreed upon. My only other criticism is that Mike doesn't always return messages promptly or at all. For example after he came by to look at the deck, I left him a voicemail asking him to call me back to let me know how he wanted to proceed. He sent his team out and did a great job with the second coat of stain, but he never called me back. In some ways I don't care because in the end he did an excellent job on the deck. But the lack of communication (especially after his team inexplicably stopped painting half way through) was a little frustrating. That said, I would definitely hire this company again as in the end the deck looks better than it has ever looked, and the price was very competitive.

I received a written estimate within a day of my first call to request one. Their bid was not the lowest, but we decided to go with them anyway based on positive word of mouth. Once I called to accept their bid, I was scheduled very quickly. The men who came to do the work took their time and did a thorough job of cleaning the deck and siding. I was very impressed, especially compared to the half-hearted efforts we have seen (from other companies) in the past. They returned a few days later to seal the deck and did a good job. The company was very good about keeping us updated on when people would be coming out, which was no doubt a little tricky for them as we were having pm thunderstorms frequently during this time.

Based on reviews on Angie's List gave them a call and was confident enough to accept their quote over the phone and set up an appointment to get the job done without us being home that day. Came home to a nicely cleaned house!!!! No runs, no drips, no errors. Great job!!

It was a good experience overall. I never laid eyes on Mike or any his employees, but the work was performed very satisfactorily. Mike returned my call the day after I left a message. He gave me an estimate over the phone based on the size of the deck. I had used his service before, so he had the kind of stain we used in his records, which was very helpful. The day of the pressure washing was pushed back one day because of bad weather earlier in the week, which was no problem for us. I had asked them to be careful around the fish pond and it appears they did use the plastic I provided for them to cover the pond. No ill effects to the fish. We didn't have an exact date for the staining, they came when weather permitted and took care of it. An invoice was left in the door.

They did an excellent job, and they were very easy to work with. I never actually met Mike (the manager) or any of the workers in person because we were able to work out all of the details by phone. They washed the deck on a Thursday, then stained it the following Monday. It looks great. They left an invoice at my front door, and I mailed them a check. By the way, they are the only company I contacted (based on the reports on Angie's List); I didn't get any other estimates.

The work was great. They had to come back and touch up a few minor things, which they did not charge extra for. I was very happy with the service. Mike Corbette was very professional and great at what he does.

The estimate was delivered without my having to be there, which is nice because it is sometimes difficult to get away from work. The price included the deck, which runs the length of a split level home and nearly as wide, as well as two lattice structures on the deck, hand rails, and steps to the lawn. The deck hadn't been treated in 5 years + and was really dirty and weather-stained. The workman arrived right on time and I was able to observe his work for a few minutes before I left for work. He worked slowly and methodically and when done had gotten every inch of the deck, lattice structures (both sides), etc. The appearance of the deck is vastly improved. Afterwards I called Mike to request that the deck be sealed at a time that wouldn't conflict with a roof repair. He did not return my call but did leave a card in the front door in the next day or so. I wasn't sure that the deck had been sealed yet, but testing with a hose indicated that it had. Good job of bringing this deck back to life.

Excellent. He returned my call promptly and came exactly when he said he would. They charged exactly what was on the estimate. He did such a good job, I asked him to come back to do the staining, he arrived as planned. He was clean, cheerful, and did a great job! I would recommend him highly.
