The cleaning gutter was OK but the tune up gutter did not perform as described on the add. Therefore the front and the back of my gutters were still leaking.

My experience with this company was great. Eric S., the technician out of Fairfax, VA, who performed the roof tune-up, was on time, professional, knew his job, and was great to deal with. He was clear and thorough in his explanations, and was generous with his time and knowledge. I would definitely use American Home Contractors again for future jobs and found dealing with them hassle-free: from the estimate request, appointment selection, and actual visit.

Loooong wait for appt and then .....no show. Last minute cancellations, promised call-backs never came, people unpleasant on the phone, when trying to re-schedule three week delay again No thank you!

Rep was very knowledgeable and professional. Cleared a clog completely and did a good overview of the spout and roof condition. The only small issues were that a couple of items that i considered tune-up worthy e.g reconnecting downspouts with drains, he didn't have any sections of spout to extend the downspouts required because of ground settling though the spout was standard 2x3. i had to go buy the material and make the fix myself. The only other minor issue was I had to wait three weeks for the appt, though for this price I understand the demand.

My best Angie's List experience yet. Can't say enough good things about the technician Eric. He was professional, thorough and explained what he was doing and why. No hesitation to hire again.

I ended up paying double the amount of the Big Deal because it was a larger area than provided by the deal. They were flexible with the scheduling. They did what they promised. It was pretty good. It turned out ok. I think the price was great.

After purchasing the deal on Angie's List, the company was very responsive in scheduling an appointment with me. They also send out frequent email reminders, which I appreciate. On one of the reminders, they confirmed the address where the work should take place and the address was incorrect (I had 2 addresses on my Angie's List profile at the time). Before the first scheduled appointment, I notified them of the error and asked them to update the address on file. It was confirmed via email that the address had been updated. (All set and ready for the scheduled service!). Scheduled Service: Unfortunately, the first scheduled service happened the morning of a terrible thunderstorm in the area. It was made clear to me that the appointment was weather permitting since the work would be performed outdoors. Their dispatch department was not able to get into the office until well after my appointment time and no work was performed that morning. The person I spoke to on the phone was very apologetic, I totally understand it was out of their control and I was happy to reschedule. The company was able to reschedule me for the very next week (excellent! I was happy they were able to reschedule me so quickly). Rescheduled service #1: Three hours before my scheduled appointment time, I received an email asking if the technician would be able to arrive early since he had finished work in my area earlier than planned. Unfortunately, I was at work and did not receive the message until I was about to leave for my scheduled appointment time. After corresponding with dispatch, they told me it was no problem and they would still accommodate my regularly scheduled time. I receive another email 15 minutes after my appointment time, saying the technician was tied up with a previous appointment and that I would need to reschedule again. It was clear that they added an unplanned appointment to the technician's schedule that ended up impacting my scheduled appointment. But, I can't fault them for wanting to turn around as much work in a day as possible. I understand they couldn't anticipate that this job was going to take longer than expected. The next available appointment was the next week again (great!). I confirmed immediately that I was able to accommodate my work schedule around that next offered appointment. I received no confirmation that I was scheduled for the date/time that was initially offered. However, the next day I was no longer able to make that appointment work, so I emailed and asked for something the following week. I received an email the following day that the next available appointment was 2 weeks later. Again, no problem, I took that appointment. Rescheduled service #2: No call. No show. I later find out the technician had a family emergency and someone should have contacted me the morning of my appointment. They offered to reschedule me again, but they are booked solid for the next few weeks and they are hiring new technicians so I can't get an appointment until 5 weeks later (once all new hires are trained). I was very disappointed and the dispatcher said they would call me if they get any earlier openings. Rescheduled service #3 (the last straw): I don't hear from the company at all in the 5 weeks leading up to my next appointment. Oh well, I guess they didn't have any earlier openings... After all of the previous issues, I decide to call the morning of my final appointment to ensure they are coming and that there are no other scheduling issues. I was told my appointment was still on schedule. I even called 30 mins prior to my appointment time to check in, and again, the technician was still on schedule and on his way! My appointment time comes and goes. 30 minutes after my scheduled time, I call back. Dispatch says the technician is stuck in traffic and will be there in 10 minutes. I call back 15 minutes later since he still hasn't arrived. It turns out the technician went to the wrong address that was supposed to be corrected prior to the first scheduled service! By this time, it is after 6pm. I explain to the dispatcher all of my previous scheduling issues and they commit to having the technician work late and come to my house that day anyway. (The distance between the wrong address and my correct address is about an hour+ during rush hour). Unfortunately, I have plans that night and am not able to stay and wait for the technician. But I am told he can perform the service externally and should not need me there to do the work. I was told I would receive a written report of the service the next day. Ok, kind of annoying, but I just wanted to get the work done and have it be over with. My roommate was home all night and told me when I came home that night that the technician never came. BUT, I still get a courtesy phone call the next day asking how my service was and if I was pleased with the work. I explained what happened, to what seems like the 6th person I've spoken to, and they offer to reschedule again. At that time, I say, no thanks. They are apologetic. Bytheway, the original purchase date of the deal was April 2017. On the plus side, everyone I spoke to was very courteous and sympathetic to my situation. It just seems like they lack organization and should be more proactive with their customers when scheduling conflicts arise.

Dennis did an outstanding job! He called in advance to let me know he was on his way and once he arrived he got right to work by asking me if I had any concerns or needed him to check anything in particular out. He spent a good amount of time checking the attic for any leaks and then inspecting the roof. While on the roof, he repaired any shingles that needed it and re-caulked any areas that were worn or deteriorated. He also went out of his way to do any minor extra things like replacing an additional pipe collar at no charge. Once he was complrte, he explained exactly what he was looking for as far as the inspection went and then explained what he had done, as well as showed me pictures of everything he had repaired or touched up. These pictures were then emailed to me for my records. I definitely learned more than I ever thought I would about my roof, which is a huge help for a new homeowner. I'd definitely recommend AHC for any service, but in particular the roof tune-up. It's well worth the small amount of money to understand what's going on on your roof and Dennis was a true professional. Thanks AHC!

Eric came out to my house and did a great job adding a few extra shingles that had fallen off and giving me an analysis of the current situation of my deck. Eric should receive a 5 out of 5 star for this review. The reason why I am giving it a 2 is not because of Eric at all, but rather Monique and the billing department. When I called and made the appointment, it was for a $119 roof tune up based on an Angies List Deal. However, I was charged $149 and when reaching out about it was told that I would have needed to buy the deal on Angies List, however, they had previously said that I did not need to do that. Additionally, Eric was only able to service half of my roof because of the pitch, so I paid more than quoted for half the value. Although I was satisfied with your roof repairman Eric, I am not satisfied with your customer service and deceitfulness.

I purchased a Big Deal for a Premium Roof Leak through Angie's List. The deal included a general survey of the roof and an assortment of repairs, including replacing up to 5 shingles. The technician was very professional, and after a quick survey of our attic said that he did not think our problem was due to a roof leak. He said it was more likely a plumbing issue. He said he could go up on the roof, but as soon as he did, we would be charged. He also said he didn't like the thought of going up on the roof because he didn't think that would solve our problem. He gave us a couple of ideas to try to troubleshoot in order to identify the problem. I purchased a Big Deal for a Premium Roof Leak through Angie's List. Excellent. They are Pros. The guy did a thorough inspection of my attic and roof and walked with me each and every issues or potential for issues in detail. he also suggested various options available. In the end, I became aware of what is the status of each and every corner of my roof and attic. They also sent me link to tons of pictures taken in my attic and roof for me to analyze.

OK, he did the best he could to find the leak and fix and tune up any needed areas.

Dennis was awesome...very thorough in explaining everything to me and super friendly. Took the time to show me pictures of what was wrong and was very patient and helpful in selecting the best tiles to replace with. Job was done quickly too. I would absolutely use them again!

The technician was very knowledgeable. He not just patched up the source of the leakage, he also caulked the surrounding areas that might cause a leak.

Dennis not only cleaned the gutters, but also cleaned and inspected the roof, and gave good advice. He quickly took care of the one small place in the gutters that he had overlooked. He also modified his usual cleaning method at my request.

Dennis did a very thorough job of caulking nail heads and sealing around vents. He took pictures and explained everything he did and all areas of concern. There was no upsell or pressure.

Once we got the inspector here he did a great job, but we were asked to reschedule the appointment 3 times.
