The technician, Will Moore was on schedule, thorough, explained what he would do and what he saw and took detailed pictures of the roof and roof penetrations which AHC provided to me by email. I used to do this stuff myself, but don't want to climb 30 feet up a ladder anymore, so I know what good work is. Will did an excellent job and provided sound cost-effective advice.

Tyler was very attentive from the initial bid to completion of the project, clearly wanted our business and was quite responsive whenever an issue or question popped up. I received many bids for the job and Tyler won me over with his level of responsiveness, flexibility and communication. They did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it.

Neither Angies List nor the contractor has refunded the $99 I paid for the service. Contractor promised to refund but never did. Angies List refused to help get my refund.

+ 0 moreThey cleaned the gutters but they didn’t clean up the debris that was removed from the gutters. I came home to find wet, moldy leaves around my property; in beds and bushes. Mud was splattered several windows. Not happy with the lack of professionalism and care with which they did the job.

He explained to me and showed pictures of what he found and offered suggestions about further improvements that could be made without being pushy. He made sure to clean up behind himself thoroughly. I was very impressed with Paul and American Home Contractors as a company. I will definitely consider them for other projects that I need.

Description of Work: CEO Angie's/or anyone responsible I ordered a Roof Check up and paid $74 upfront and scheduled Jan 12 as work date. I waited whole day but no one turned up. 2 hours before work a message was sent that no one can come because of weather. I asked for a new date and company is not willing to give me date before 6 weeks. I have to travel abroad and cant wait but they wont listen. I asked them to refund and cancel my order. AMERICAN HOME CONTRACTORS (AHC) said they had not recd the money as Angie's had it. I asked Angie's to refund and they refused pointblank. They cant do it. Where should I go. This is embarrassing. I dont want to go to social media/print media, Nextdoor forums against Angie's/AHC contractors for such a small job. But certainly this is an embarrassing case. I would ultimately advise my 1 million followers on Twitter/Facebook, User Forums to beware of this situation and not use Angie's if they dont take responsibility. They collect money and then leave users on their own. I chatted with Angie's and they said I should wait for 120 days before they will tell me what they can do. I have saved the chat with Dan on Jan 22. I have been calling Angie's and they just say we will do something but nothing happens. I wanted to send message directly to Angie's CEO but they wont give me his contact info. Why not? This message may please be sent to corporate office of Angie's. I will send it to all, BBBureau, others. It wont make my life any worse if I quit Angie's Silver membership for which I am paying a fee regularly. Such services are available free on net but Angie's charges a fee and then leaves members on their own. Sorry state of affairs.

+ 1 moreWe had a fantastic experience overall with American Home Contractors, which completed a professional and high quality roof replacement, gutter & trim replacement and front door installation for us this past fall. While there were a few minor hiccups along the way, AHC never wavered in returning to fix any problems that arose during construction, down to the smallest details. Tyler, who oversaw the project, was friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. We chose AHC for the first time after comparing their presentation and bid to four other companies. While their bid for the overall project fell somewhere in the middle of the others, we felt their diagnosis of our replacement needs was the most thorough and straight-forward. In the end, Tyler was extremely flexible when it came to adapting the project to our needs, making adjustments as we moved forward. In the end, the AHC crew did a great job, and we are satisfied with both the quality and value of the job. If there was any small criticism we could make, the work crew could have cleaned up better, as we continued to find small scraps, nails and even a couple of larger spikes in our small front yard weeks after the job was completed. In the end, however, this wasn't a big deal. We'd hire AHC again and heartily recommend them to others.
