Description of Work: Overall, great job. There were a few minor dings and dents in the house we moved out of, and a couple of small things in the furniture that was moved, but overall I was happy. One item that confused me was the insurance. I ended up paying about $500 for insurance, when my home owners would have covered it! My advice: check with your insurance company before paying for insurance. And my move was local (about 4 miles). I could have saved almost half my bill by declining!

Description of Work: Arrived right on time at 7:30am. Loaded trucks (in a cold drizzle) and moved me from Alexandria, VA to Williamsburg, VA. The trip took almost 5 hours, a normally 2+ hour trip, due to the weather and parking lot conditions on I-95. They were careful with my belongings, wrapped all furniture to protect it. Crew was exceptionally accommodating--a couple of times I would tell them to take piece of furniture to "x" location, only to realize I gave them the wrong place. Without hesitation or objection, they would take the dresser (or whatever piece of furniture it was) to a different room. There were 5 men on the crew, all of whom were polite and never complaining. The crew chief, Ernesto, was very easy to work with and clearly had the respect of his crew.

Description of Work: The two movers with a big truck came to the storage area in Manassas; they kept in touch via phone to let me know their arrival time (early). Move went easy, and they left to drive to final location. I was happy with their efficient delivery and clean up.

Description of Work: Only complaint was didn't get exactly what was paid for. The deal was for four men and got three. The three that did the job worked hard and did great job.

Description of Work: Rep called the sp and sold this deal to mbr. the rep did not let the sp know that the move is long distance. the sp is stating it will be over $2000.00. mbr cannot afford that and is asking for a refund. she said her email is not working right now and is requesting that we expedite the refund so she will have the funds to move

Description of Work: Double move within Virginia of my furniture to my adult kids: 1- storage shed Ruckerville & 2) Norfolk

Description of Work: The crew packed our furniture and household items with the utmost care and moved items to our new home in another state. They unloaded our belongings with the same attention to detail as demonstrated when they first packed up our home. All members of the crew were polite and interested in ensuring our total satisfaction.

Description of Work: I can without hesitation that Carmack Movers are the best in the business. They have moved my clients for years so when it came time for my own personal move they were the logical choice. They were punctual and professional throughout the entire process. The move was great but the customer service was fantastic. The owner gave me his cell phone number in case there were any hiccups and I only had to use it to let him know how impressed I was with the crew. They treated my possessions as if they were their own, taking care of not just the pieces they were moving but also my home. The pride they took in their work was evident. Everyone that I dealt with at Carmack was professional but more importantly I really felt like they cared. All told I can recommend Carmack Moving and Storage without hesitation!!

Description of Work: Carmack was superb on the front end. The picked up our household goods, stored them and delivered them from VA to TX 6 weeks later. Everything would have been A rating except that local talent was used to off load our household goods. The delivery was rushed, chaotic and the damages we incurred (minor in the grand scheme) were all done in the delivery. Carmack is excellent. We wish they had used Carmack employees on the delivery end.

Description of Work: Local move from MD to VA. We moved from a 3 story home to 4 stories. They were excellent about being careful with our furniture and our walls. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Not only did they pack more than I expected, they did it amid my chaos with good humor and friendliness. The next day three guys packed their truck with the boxes and furniture. Again, they did it with more humor than I could expect and helped ensure the items that had to be moved were moved. So far, I have unpacked about 50 boxes and nothing was broken.
