Description of Work: My washing machine did not work. They came and told me I would need to repair it for a lot of money. I asked them if there was something that was less expensive that they could do. They told me they could repair apart but it would only work with only cold water. They told me they would need to get a part and needed to come back. They quoted me $80 and left. When they came back the second time, they quoted me a much higher price even though I had the written quote of $80. He stated he would need to talk to his boss and eventually they agreed to it. After they repaired it and left, I found that my machine would only wash with hot water, which is not what I wanted. I really felt as though they were trying to rip me off, frankly.

Description of Work: I had a broken dishwasher and asked for an estimate. The two repairman arrived and within 5 minutes gave me an estimate of 389.00 to replace the control panel. Which was a great deal more than a previous estimate of 250.00. However it was during the Christmas holiday and we had family coming in so I decided I to go with these gentlemen. Big mistake - they took my deposit and guaranteed that the control panel would be installed that afternoon or the next day. Three days later no dishwasher and no deposit . Five days later I finally received my deposit with a lame excuse.

Description of Work: My very old freezer and fridge stopped cooling. I called Appliances Pro and they were at my house within hours. They advised me on what was needed (freon) and whether it was worth the repair. I did have the repair done. They were efficient, helpful, and the price was right. I will definitely call them again if needed for appliance repairs.

Description of Work: Repair of main computer (mother-board) in my Jenn-Air Range. Even though the range is only a few years old, the Jenn Air no longer makes the part ( Jenn Air owners/buyers beware). The repair company was very astute in finding a place that repairs these "mother boards" and got the job done and the repair completed. Had Appliances Pro not been professional or willing to go the extra mile, I would have had to buy a whole new range because of Jenn-Air failure to support their less than reliable product.

I actually questioned their services. They would not tell me the exact price of the two coils being replaced. I asked about the parts and they explained they would replace two coils but are unsure about the cost. They gave me a receipt that only had one coil listed. When I asked for the defective coils they provided two coils that were different sizes. I am now questioning if I was charged the accurate amount.

I found appliance pro to be an first-rate resource for well-timed, cost-efficient, and friendly service. techinician did a excellent work at working on my dishwasher machine. He worked hard, and took the time to make clear what was going on - he even showed me the parts, and in whatever way they should work, and why they weren't. We'll definitely be calling them again when the need ariseslike the pervious techician

Nick showed up at our house right on time. He was only supposed to fix our freezer (we had called someone else for our garbage disposal) and he ended up fixing our freezer and our garbage disposal right then and there. We were so happy. But the following day, when my husband went to get ice from the icemaker, it wouldn't work. He opened the ice drawer thing and the ice was completely frozen together. So we called Nick to have him come back and fix the problem (since this was NOT an issue we had before- we felt he did something incorrectly and needed to fix it). We made an appointment (between 2 and 4) that week. My husband took time off of work and Nick did not show (and no phone call). When we called to inquire where he was-- he said that he would be out in a few days. We made another appointment (between 2 and 4 again) and AGAIN he was a no-show. I called him and he said he would come out the following night at 5 when we got home. Another no-show. So here it is, 28 January (yes-3 months later). Every time we call, he "forgets" who we are. He has stood us up more than 6 times. He was supposed to be at our house today between 1 and 4. It is now 4:34. I called him this morning to confirm our appointment (he confirmed we were scheduled for 1-4). He called us at 3pm and told us he would be here in 45 minutes. My husband called him at 4 and HE LIED TO MY HUSBAND AND SAID OUR APPOINTMENT WAS FROM 4-7. Fortunately, my husband heard me call and confirm our appointment this morning. I will never, ever, ever, ever recommend Nick or this group. He constantly lies and stands us up. I have never been treated so poorly. I definitely recommend Nick and Appliances Pro, INC to NO ONE. 02/03/2012: I am providing an update on the service that was performed. Nick DID in fact come to our house at approximately 5:30pm on 29 January, despite our appointment being between 1-4 (and I did call to confirm earlier that day). He DID fix our freezer and we have had no more issues with our icemaker. There was some confusion with the price we paid (he told us he would go half on the part with us and not charge us for the labor, which we appreciated. We were told it was going to be in the $80-$90 range, we ended up paying $75. I looked up the price of the part Nick replaced and it is listed on the internet around $60.) Today (3 February) Nick called my husband to make sure the freezer was still working. My husband told him that we have had no additional issues with the freezer and was impressed with him calling to check up on it. THEN Nick asked him why we left a bad review on Angie's List and asked my husband to update the review because our review was going to hurt his business (along with a lot of other things) So, let's review: PROS: +Our refrigerator is now properly working +Our icemaker is producing ice properly +Our garbage disposal is working CONS: -Nick repeatedly did not show up for the appointments we made with him. We had to use vacation time to leave work in order to come here for the appointments. He never contacted us to tell us he was not coming. - Nick lied to my husband about what time our appointment was. I called earlier in the day TO CONFIRM what time he was going to come to our house and he SPECIFICALLY TOLD ME BETWEEN 1 AND 4PM. When he didn't show up at 4, my husband called him and he told my husband OUR APPOINTMENT WAS FROM 4 AND 7PM. -It took NIck a month and a half to fix a problem that only took him 30 minutes in our house to fix.
Description of Work: Our garbage disposal started leaking on Thanksgiving. Our refrigerator also quit on us-- it was a great weekend :0( We did a search online and found Appliances Pro, Inc and they were able to come out on a Sunday. We were thrilled.

It was my daughter sweet sixteen, and our refrigerator went flop day before. We were supposed put her cake there. Everybody was freaking out since we were having party. We even considered buying a whole new refrigerator. However, my wife suggested that we should at least have someone look at it. I searched in the yellow book called all the companies for the same day. Appliance's pro was one of the companies that I called. Although there were three companies willing to come the same day, but they were the ones who gave me the earliest time. The technician arrived within two hours and worked at it. I think was around 8 o' clock. He spent about 10 minutes diagnosing it and find out that wrong. He said that evaporate fan motor is the problem. He informed the it had to be replaced, but he didn't have it, him. However, he promised he would come first thing the next day and finish the repaired. The next day he came 8 o'clock, had the part and finished the repair. I loved everything about their service. Just, one thing would be parts for me, but since they repaired everything I have no complain. I would definitely would recommend this company.

I called appliances pro around 7:00 on a Thursday morning because my refrigerator suddenly stopped cooling. I called my friend asked for any companies she recommends. She went on her angies list and gave me their phone, and she said they had some great review on their profiles. The technician diagnosed my problem over the phone, showed up around 2'o clock and took care of the problem, and offered advice about my other appliances. He said that issue was my defrost control board which he had it in his truck. He also cleaned my coils and condenser. The last I called some, I had the same issue but the tech from another company only replaced to defrost thermostat. However, appliance pro tech informed, the condenser the life of refrigerator and must be cleaned every year and half. It's been around seven months the refrigerator is still running great. Before leaving he gave me his card and still have it, in case I might need to call him for appliance repair. so overall, on time. Friendly. Knowledgeable. It priced well. Great Service
Description of Work: My friend recommended them, and she found them on angies list. My refrigerator broken in a middle of a heat wave. Our refrigerator was not cooling and food was going bad. My refrigerator is eight years, so for sure I thought I would need to replace the whole thing. They came the same day for the repair. I called them around 7' o clock, and they were at my house around 2 o' clock my refrigerator was fixed. He diagnosed my problem defrost control broad and did extra things such as cleaning the coils and condenser of my refrigerator. Furthermore, he cleaned my coils. The tech arrived and gave a great estimate on the part. He performed the repair and left my house after hour and fifteen minutes. I think the company was professional, reliable, courteous, and just awesome..

APPLIANCE PROS is advertised in the Yellow Pages as SERVICE PROS and it is the reason I enrolled on Angie's List: I did not want to get ripped off again. These guys may qualify was the worst repairmen in Northern Virginia (mathematically, there is a worst somewhere and they are competitive if not the winner). They did not show up for the appointed time, they did not show up for the rescheduled time either. When the repairman finally showed up they looked at my refrigerator and my microwave. The repairman declared my refrigerator dead (after he added freon) and said my microwave could be fixed for about $500. It's a high end, built in unit and I knew I could buy a new cheaper unit for $500, but since it was roughly the same price and he was already here I agreed to the repair. Plus, he called to his shop and they confirmed they had the parts. He took out the unit and said he'd have it done in about a week. Week after week they had it. They told me they were waiting on parts, but I reminded them the repairman called from my house to ensure all the parts were in the shop. I was told, "Wrong parts." Anyway, after repeated phone calls they fixed the unit and came out to install it. The unit died again in less than two weeks. The same problem. I called to complain and they said they'd send the repairman out again. Again, they did not show up for the scheduled time, did not show up for the rescheduled time, and so on. They kept saying things like, "We showed up and no one was home." I said, "My wife and I have been canceling other engagements to ensure we were here." But the lies continued. The repairman finally showed up (October) and declared, "We need to repair the same thing again, but need to order parts." I told them I just wanted my money back. They said "no" and we had a lengthy discussion about all their lies and failures to show up. They relented and said they would refund the repair money, but not the service call. I said, "The service call didn't resolve anything, besides, you never even gave me the military discount you promised." The owner said, "You got free freon (in your dead refrigerator), so I will only give you the repair money. I figured something was better than nothing and took it--but I still believe he owes me more. Anyway, the promised check never arrived; over and over again more lies. I finally had to threaten a lawsuit and then the partial check arrived (in November--remember, this started in early August). These guys are terrible--from the repairmen, to the receptionist, to the owner). They advertise in the Yellow Pages under SERVICES PRO'S and say they are BBB approved, but I can't find their verification on the BBB sites. Their receipts to me say the company is called APPLIANCES, PRO INC. which is also the name on their website. But NONE of them have a physical address on which to serve lawsuit papers. So BEWARE of these guys. They lie, don't show up, don't complete repairs, have aliases, and don't even have a physical address. Bad news all around. BEWARE!
Description of Work: These repairmen attempted to fix my refrigerator and attempted (I think they attempted, but I don't have evidence of it) to fix my microwave. They failed on both items.

The unit was repaired and it only took 3 weeks, multiple phone calls, hours of no shows and a threat of law suit to get it done.
Description of Work: I called for service and the fellow dispatched informed me I needed a new seal and and that the door needed to be balanced and that they always replace the fridge and freezer seals at the same time. Sounded ok so I ok'ed it. Then 2 more guys came out with the seal for the fridge but they said the first guy was stupid. Made the same reccomendation and left. No work done. I called back in a week and asked when they would be coming out. Things were icing up. They said they couldn't get the freezer seal. I said it was ok they could just do the fridge since the freezer was still sealing. I asked then how much the job would be discounted since only one seal was going to be done. Much fussing insued then they decided to take off about $35 from the original price. We went round and round about getting someone out because they representatives were so rude and honestly frightening my 87 year old mom would not be alone in the house with them. They finally called her and told her when they were coming and I called off work to be there. We waited 6 hours after confiming they were coming. I called and was told they would come the next day at 9am. I told them I'd be at work until 3pm. I was yelled at because I was upset over missing a day of work when they set the time they were coming. It finally took my husband calling from his military assignment in Bagdad and threatening them with a law suit to get them to send someone out. He came in the evening, drug his feet putting on the seal for 2 hours then tried to leave without balancing the door. It wasn't sealing. I told him I expected the job to be finished and after a great deal of grumping he completed the job. I would have kicked him out if they hadn't required I pay up front for the work and they had of course cashed that right away. These people have the worst phone service I've ever had the misfortune to be subjected to.and there service people are so rude I felt like I should be appalogizing to them for calling their business and bothering them. If I could give a score lower than a F I'd do it happily.

I called them over for refrigerator repair. I requested them same day service because my refrigerator was leaking from bottom. They arrived within 4 hours. When he came he diagnosed and found freezer fan was malfunctioning. He gave men an estimate for replacement 215. 00(parts plus labor) without any emergency fee. He said he has the part in the truck, so he can repair it right the way. I agreed and we're back in business. Before cutting the check he said I qualify for senior citizen discount. He took the amount off and gave me in my final amount. I was pleased with service, price seemed reasonable for the work he performed. He was fast and got me back up an running quickly.as
Description of Work: They repaired my leaking refrigerator. I freaked out and called ge and they come out till 12/4/2011. I couldn’t believe it, so I started looking in the community phonebook. They're ad said fast service for emergency. I called them and informed about the problem I’m experiencing, the lady understood my problem and she he can send a technician within next 5 hours. They’re customer service was very satisfying. After 31/2 hours technician called and said he would at my house in half an hour. The technician was professional, he greeted and introduced himself. I took him to the refrigerator. After his diagnosis, he told the cost repair. I just wanted to get it repair as soon possible before it damaged my wooden floor. The technician told he has the part & so I decided to repair it. I received great service from these guys and they will first on list before I call anyone else.

They came out and replaced the control board and put some foam in to stop the leak. It worked for 3 months, then the problem happened again. They came out again in the beginning of October and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I had GE come out and they said there was a special part for the model I had that would be the only thing that could fix it and it did. They also said that the foam that Appliance Pros used was wrong. Appliance Pros said that I could possibly get some money back. Since then, they've said they would send out a technician but no one has come or called about it.

They did not inform me service call was 49.00 to be applied to part PRIOR to coming out. However, they did say you could apply service call to the parts purchased & work when performed. My Dacor range has an obsolete part, therefore they could not order nor obtain. There is nothing to apply my service fee too unfortunately paid 49.00 to be told sorry.. no parts. But what I found annoying was - not being called back immediately to told this information and having to constantly call them. Poor Poor communication from beginning with service fee not being disclosed and then not being told parts were not available.

My refrigerator was leaking because of a stopped up drain, which he fixed. Then I pointed out that I have an old but working dishwasher. It's supposed to be self-cleaning. There is a basket at the back in which fruit particles are ground up like a miniature food grinder. I should not have to do this, but every couple of weeks I have to take my bolt driver and open it up and clean it out. There is something wrong and it's not as efficient as it used to be. He said they all do that, and he dismissed me. Maybe that's what he was taught to do in his country but I am the customer and it wasn't broken but it was inefficient. I shouldn't have to dig down there every couple of weeks but I do. He was fairly priced and he was on time.

Refrigerator problem happened at 8 a.m. on a Sunday. Called several appliance repair companies claiming to have people available ont the weekend without success until I found Appliances Pro, Inc. ~ 8:45 in the phone book. Checked the company's Angie's List rating, then called. Other companies' phones went to voicemail, but Appliances Pro Inc had a human being answering the call. Repair person (Nick) showed up within the time promised, troubleshot the problem, repaired what he could with parts on hand, but had to go off-site to find a new fan. Returned within two hours, replaced the fan, reassembled the refrigerator, then cleaned the condensor that was in bad need of it.
Description of Work: Ice maker of GE wide, side-by-side refrigerator malfunctioned, causing excess ice production that in turn overflowed from the back of the bin into the freezer's cooling system, breaking a blade on the fan, which in turn caused a loud vibration/noise.

My Washing Machine stopped working on a Sunday afternoon. It went through the wash cycle, but would not drain and spin. I had uniforms to wash for work the next day. The technician arrived at 4 PM as promised. I was told Sunday repairs were at no extra charge. The washer was repaired in about 15 minutes. The telephone operator and the technician were very polite, informative, and the technician seemed efficient and obviously knew what he was doing. I?m not sure about the price. Sears would have charged about $100 just to come out and then I would have paid an additional fee for the part. Or they had an option where I could have paid about $210 for a flat rate whatever the problem was. Not knowing what the problem was, if I did choose Sears, I probably would have taken the latter option. Appliances Pro, Inc. charged $45 to come out and told me the job would cost $229 which included the $45. Sears did not have a Friday or weekend for 2 weeks; This company came right out. My only concern is (and this is my fault) that I don?t know if the whole safety switch which prevents the spinning cycle when the lid is not closed was broken or just the tiny piece of plastic that was attached to the lid that triggers the switch was broken. Perhaps the price would have been lower if I had asked about that or asked to see the broken switch. I didn?t, so I?m just assuming that the price was at least average.

Appliances Pro, Inc. charged $45 to come out and told me the job would cost $229 which included the $45. Sears did not have a Friday or weekend for 2 weeks; This company came right out. My only concern is (and this is my fault) that I don’t know if the whole safety switch which prevents the spinning cycle when the lid is not closed was broken or just the tiny piece of plastic that was attached to the lid that triggers the switch was broken. Perhaps the price would have been lower if I had asked about that or asked to see the broken switch. I didn’t, so I’m just assuming that the price was at least average.

Company technicians arrived on 21 Jan 2011. Diagnosed the problem and made a repair. The refrigerator had stopped cooling. They installed an evaporator, timer and fan motor. It took a while, but we eventually noticed erratic temperatures. The refrigerator compartment froze food placed in the back of the refrigerator. We set and reset the temperature to no avail. We called Appliances Pro and a technician showed up April 28 the same day we called. This technician diagnosed the problem as a faulty thermostat. He did not have on on his truck and needed to check the warehouse. He also explained to us that since we had the other service so recently, there would be no service charge per company policy. It is now May 5, 2011. We have scheduled appointments Fri., April 29, Mon., May 2, Wed., May 4 and Thur., May 5. Each time we were told the technician would call. The technician called once, outside the appointment window he had given us. We have not seen the technician since our initial encounter.

On April 28 an Appliances Pro technician arrived, diagnosed the problem. Repeated phone calls have gotten us nice words from their office staff, but no action. 45 appointments have been made and broken.
