East Coast Drywall

The owner came to the my house to give an estimate for my CG. The job was to repair all of the sheet rock in the house that the previous drywall guy had completely hosed up. The owner was very confident to the point of being arrogant and cocky that he had 40 years in the business and his guys were great and my house would be a "10" when they were done. East Coast was hired, and the results were far from what he promised. He sent in a crew to screw down the old sheet rock and there was no consistency or used to ensure all of the sheet rock was properly secured to the frame of the house. After that he sent in a mud guy that worked for a different company that mudded the ceiling. He also sent in a guy to work the walls. This guy had possibly been in prison for the past decade (for reasons unknown) because he told he " has been gone of awhile" and he kept mentioning that "it's been 10 years" and "he's all better now" and saying things like "I don't steal from job sites". This guy didn't have a car to get to and from the job site so the owner would pick him up and bring him and drop him off. Several times I was the only person at my house with this guy babysitting him while he worked and the owner was not there. The work being performed was sub par at best and when my general contractor brought it up to the owner of East Coast he started backing out on his word of quality stating that there's no way to get a good finish on these walls and I remember specifically him saying"I'm not going to have somebody going over all the work with a flashlight picking out all the imperfections, we just stand in the middle of the room and look for anything that you can see from there." My GC let him go.
