+ 0 moreDo hire this guy! Shawn is exceptional. His breathe of knowledge is impressive. He actually determined that what I had been told by another "geek" business was simply not true. I had been told that my hard drive was failing and I needed a new computer. This was inaccurate. However, my computer was several years old anyway, so I don't regret getting a new one. I have signed on as an annual client with TechMedx because of this positive experience.
Description of Work: Set up new computer, transferred files, cleaned up system Installed and configured MicrosoftOffice. Installed printer and tested Internet access. Setup home theater to connect to wireless Internet. Troubleshot sound issues and tested surround sound.

+ -1 moreThe service was just okay overall. They’re punctual and keep their appointments, but the downside is more knowledge about technology was needed than I would’ve thought. They aren’t very creative in interpreting things; they just do what you tell them to do, and that’s it. For what I paid, I would’ve expected more interpretive help.

Description of Work: We’ve been working with them for years. They’ve helped with all sorts of home computer issues ranging from replacing a hard drive to giving advice on software downloads to reconfiguring after switching ISPs, and recovering our address lists from different email programs. They also recommended a file recovery service, so all of our data is preserved in case we have a hard drive crash, which I’ve been very happy with.

+ -1 moreHe's a very nice guy, and he's prompt. He will do as much as he can in the house but if he has to take your unit away he will take it and work on it at home. I used him just this summer for a new computer system. He went out and bought it and set it up for me, he also put all the programs on it. On the first phone call after I told him I needed a new system he asked me what I used so he would know what programs to take off when he set it up. In 2011 I had taken my computer apart because I was getting my carpet done; the carpet cleaners didn't set it back up and everything was tangled. He came over and fixed it and then he continued to advise what types of things I could do with the computer that I had been interested in. I have recommended him to others.
