Excellent work in both cases, computer and TV wall install. By all means use Techmedx.

Shawn was highly responsive and communication was great. He fixed my sluggish internet connection. However, the primary reason I contacted Shawn was to come up with a way for me to discontinue cable tv service. My house is wired throughout. Shawn found a connection to the tv antenna on the roof of my condo (consulting with a building engineer in the process). He set up a connection for me to test and decide if I really want to do this. He also analyzed the wiring in my house and came up with a plan to connect all tvs to the antenna. In addition, he recommended a solution for programming content, which I've since tried and love. Now I just await the end of my cable contract for Shawn to come back for full implementation.

Shawn came over to the house and we discussed the issues I was experiencing with my computer. He dove right in and without wasting time took care of the issues. Would definitely use him again.

Shawn and I exchanged phone calls to get our appointment set up. He could have come later on the same day I called, but I asked to schedule for this week. He arrived early within the 3-5 pm window. After I explained to him the problem, he very quickly identified the problem in the wiring, and corrected it, so we could have surround sound when watching our TV, viewing a DVD, or listening to music. When he was done, he double checked to be sure we were getting stereo sound through all the components, and explained to me how things should be connected. Quite honestly, we had been living with this problem for quite a while because I was unable to find a technician to deal with problem solving, rather than building an entire home stereo system. I also needed his expertise in how to design a built-in cabinet to get my front speakers off the stands and into the cabinet, include the sub-woofer and center speaker, and move the components above the TV from their current position below it. He asked a lot of questions, and made some suggestions about wiring for the rear speakers, which hadn't occurred to me earlier. He gave me plenty of suggestions that I can use in working with our designer. I especially appreciated that Shawn explained things simply, and didn't get too technical in his explanations, very much a professional. I look forward to working with him again once the cabinet is built.

I contacted Techmedx on 11/13/13 and Shawn stated he could be there on 11/14/13 between 12 - 2 P.M. Shawn arrived o/a 1 P.M. and set right to work. He was done with my new laptop in no time at all. I then asked him to setup a new print server for us. He worked diligently on this only to find the print server would not allow documents to print from any of our PCs. So he reinstalled our original print server. Shawn also noticed there was a search tool bar on my laptop which he said was notorious for connecting to bad sites. So he removed it from my system. I had unkowingly loaded this tool bar while installing a free program offered through Norton Inc called MyPCBackup. This program took over my home page without permission and installed this suspicious toolbar as well. I thought I had removed the program but the uninstall did not remove all the bits and pieces.

Our computer suddenly refused to boot. Shawn diagnosed a faulty hard drive. He replaced it with a new and better one and was fortunately able to restore all the program files and data without having to completely reload the machine. He was a life saver.

Shawn was great! He went through my error logs and found what was kicking me out of my favorite online game, World of Warcraft. He discovered my Windows was corrupted, and then took a look at my built in web cam. He said my computer brand was notorious for bad wiring (according to forums) and while he could fix it, it would take time. Lots of time. He offered an alternate solution - spend 20.00 and get a webcam to clip on the top of the laptop. I thought his second solution was much more reasonable! Always nice when someone doesn't take advantage of a customer's ignorance to "rack up their bill." I am happy to say I now have a "Tech Guy" and don't have to use the "Squads" at local stores who usually are next to useless, take too much time and are expensive. Yayy! I highly recommend this service. :-)

Shawn arrived right on time, ready to go to work on my computer. He stayed for about two hours - as long as it took to make sure my computer was working as fast as possible and all my questions were answered. He's very knowledgeable and proficient, and he also knows how to explain things to a lay person without being at all condescending. My problem was too many programs running at once, slowing my computer down. Shawn worked with me to understand which programs I use, and which (mostly manufacturer add-ons) could be removed. Also, I wasn't sure how to work parts of my multifunction printer. Shawn didn't leave until I was good to go with all of it. Finally, I was really surprised at the price - I'd expected to pay a lot more. Shawn really provides a great service and a great value.

Shawn came in and helped set up a new network since our other one crashed. He order the new parts for us and installed it and got us back up and running in no time. He was on time and very professional.

The first time I used Shawn was years ago. My computer got a virus and I was at risk of loosing all my data. I hadn't backed up my computer in awhile. He came and saved all of my files, cleared off the hard drive and reinstalled all of the programs. I have used him ever since. I recommend him to all my friends.
