Kitchen & Floor Master

We were very satisfied with Kitchen and Floor Masters. We came to their store asking for a complete renovation of our townhouse with a budget of $50 000. The owner, Mr. Aref, was extremely friendly and showed us around. He set us up with Paul, who ended up doing all the designing of out kitchen and bathrooms. He was very caring and helped us choose from a large selection of cabinets, tiles, back splashes,... Since my husband and I work, we needed him to sometimes meet us after his regular working hours and again, Paul was able to accommodate us. It took them approximately 4 weeks to finish everything, and we were actually able to stay in our house the entire time. The workers made sure our furniture was cover and protected from the dust and cleaned after themselves when they were done. Everything turned out beautifully, and we are beyond happy with our new home. We would definitely recommend Kitchen and Floor Masters to anyone who wants quality and long lasting products.

We recently purchased a home that had light beige carpet throughout the house. We have two dogs so we knew that the carpet would get dirty quickly so we mentioned to our realtor that we would most likely change it out for a hardwood or wood laminate. He recommended Aref and his team at Carpet & Floor. We met with him prior to closing on the home so we could talk through our options and be ready to go once we had the keys in our hands. At first we were not sure whether to go with hardwood or wood laminate because we were worried that the floors would start to look dented/damaged from their nails. We ended up going with the wood laminate that they custom make called Exotic Brazilian Teak (take a look at the photo section to check it out) for its durability and we couldn't be more pleased. Our dogs can run across the room without a single scratch. We did run into an issue after the floors were put in, due to our floors not being level. There were a few "soft spots" that you could feel when you walked over them and one just happened to be right when you walked into the house. I talked to Aref and he came out to check on it and while they are not responsible for fixing uneven structural issues, he helped us out and was able to have his team remove the flooring, add a leveler material and redo the floor at no extra cost. The end result came out wonderful and we love it. We also had them put new carpet on two sets of stairs that is made for higher traffic and that can be cleaned without fear of discoloration. I really think that Aref and his team truly want to have happy customers and will go the extra mile to ensure that you are taken care of. The team started on time and finished a day earlier.

We have hired Carpet and Floors located in Burke, Virginia on three separate occasions (installation of hardwood floors throughout our home; a kitchen and bathroom remodel). We have worked with Frank and Paul with design and they worked very hard to ensure we were completely satisfied from project start to completion. It's reassuring to know they stand behind their work - guaranteed! My husband and I have been very pleased with their work; we are repeat customers. I'm very cautious about who enters my home and particular with the way my home is treated. We have never had a problem working with Carpet and Floors. The crew is respectful and courteous. Nick is a master with tile and grout installation; drywall repair and painting; really with anything he is tasked with doing; and their electrician is superb. I would not hesitate to hire them again and can confidently recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.

It was the most wonderful experience I have had. They were all very prompt and cleaned up after themselves. It was just a wonderful experience and they finished ahead of schedule. I highly recommend them to my neighbors and co workers at my office.

The salesman (Sonny) was very easy to deal with, very punctual professional with the estimate, and provided a great price for the new carpet and installation. The installaion crew, in my opinion, did a poor job. When they tore out the original carpet, the metal transition strips at the doors leading to the unfinished utility room and the unfinished part of the basement were damaged. Rather than replacing them, the installation crew just tried to hammer them back into shape, which of course looked terrible. They also left obvious, excessive gaps where the carpet met the walls on the staircase and the baseboards around the room. Also, clearly to save time and effort, the new carpet installation on the stairs did not match the "old" installation (the new carpet was just draped down from one tread to the next, rather than stretched tight against the riser. The crew had to come back to correct most of these discrepancies, but the foreman kind of argued with me about the stairs. He didn't bring the additional materials to do it in the style that was previously installed so we just said forget it since we need to get this house rented out. I wish there was a "Maybe" option for the "would you use this company again?" question. The price was very good but watch the install team like a hawk.

The planning process was wonderful. There were hours spent at the house and with a computer modeling program making sure that every square inch was utilized to add as much value as possible. The planning worked through problems and made my ideas workable with as little expense as possible while utilizing existing plumbing and electrical to the greatest extent possible. There was more "vision" than others who gave estimates. They allowed my husband to do some work to save on certain things. The cost for the quality of cabinets was really good. All granite slabs are different and the kind I had chosen came in with a different hue, I was warned and chose a different kind. They could have just put the one that I specified. The only problem was an unpleasant discussion over the price of the rugs. It was my fault that it was a verbal agreement. I may have been wrong. I paid them their price, but I am still pleased with the rugs. They were a good value. At the end of the work, I found that finishing up was left to the workers alone, but everything was done. They work long days and into the evening so all work was done in just three weeks. I would use this company again.

I know them. They've done a lot of work for me and they very nicely came all the way down in Newport News and laid my laminates. They're awesome. They've done wonderful. They almost do no advertising, they go on word of mouth. It was a really high grade of laminate. It was cheaper 'cause I checked with Home Depot. They are really timely. If you have a question, they get an answer. If you have an issue or a problem, they find a way to fix it. They recommended people to me. They are in the business of following by their reputation in doing a good job and they're reasonable. I think they have a fair price. They gave me a really good price for my hardwood floors. They stayed at my unit because they were there for 2 and a half days and left in the middle of the storm. They're just so reliable. I knew that I could trust them and my husband didn't have any qualms.

Excellent work by Carpets & Floors, Kitchen & Bath Design Center in Burke. Recommended by a realtor friend who uses the company and frequently refers to her clients and friends. I see why. We selected after meeting with two other contractors. Onsite assessment and planning was excellent. Paul listened to our thoughts, made excellent recommendations to make our bathrooms, walk-in closet, and wood floors better than we had imagined. In particular, cabinetry, tile combinations, plumbing fixtures, glass shower door and lighting for the master bath are magnificent. He listened to our ideas for our master suite by adding a walk-in closet, pocket doors and built-in storage cabinet and complete bathroom remodeling. Hall bath was similarly well appointed. Paul and the craftsmen were flexible in their schedule, kept us informed of their work plan. They asked for our preferences on details like light switches, lighting, and circuits. Paul and owner made recommendations on wood floors. We are glad we altered our initial plans. The flow of the wood floors is magnificent, completely transforming our house ? three levels of hardwood connected by hardwood stairway with cherry handrails. The work took a couple weeks longer than originally projected but we also had some additional work done ? such as adding panel doors throughout the house , ,an additional countertop and reworked plumbing and faucet in existing kitchen. Excellent customer service was epitomized when we discovered a leak in kitchen ceiling the morning the project started. Paul and his crew identified the location of the leak and diverted one of their plumbers to repair the copper waterline that morning. All workers were respectful, friendly, efficient, neat, hard working, cleaned up each day, and delivered quality craftsmanship. Minor punch list was cleared quickly. We are extremely pleased with our new home. The work was done timely, within our budget and contract amount. Added items were well priced and affordable. We have already referred friends to Carpets & Floor, Kitchen & Bath.

First, Frank came out to measure. Then we went to the store to pick out the floor we wanted. We also talked with Aref. Frank gave an estimate on removing the tile (a huge job) and installing the hardwood. Also, parts of the floor needed repair whcih the installers were able to take care of. We were also having our kitchen remodeled so we needed them to work with the schedule of the company doing the remodeling. They were great - Luis and his brother came on time to remove the tile. It was a big job and they took care of everything. When the kitchen was completed, Luis and his brother came back to install the hardwood. Again, they worked with our schedule. The floors are beautiful! At the store, Frank and Aref were great to work with. We also spoke with Paul several times. We love our floors and highly recommend Carpet and Floor (703-764-1000) for flooring. We also purchased an area rug and Aref was very helpful.

Kitchen and Floor Master did a wonderful job. We researched the market and received 3 bids. We decided to go with Kitchen and Floor Master because we felt comfortable with their expertise, responsiveness, choice of materials and competitive pricing. They delivered on what they promised. Their workmanship far exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them.

We recently purchased new kitchen cabinets and granite countertops from Kitchen and Floor Master and could not be more pleased with the service that we received. The sales people were very helpful in assisting us in our choice of cabinets and granite countertops. They have a wide selection of samples to look at in the store and since we live nearby, it was so convenient to take samples home before making a final decision on colors, etc. After waiting for about 6 weeks for the cabinets to arrive, once the work was started it was done in only nine days! The job coordinator gave us the work schedule ahead of time and there was no variation from it. The cabinet intaller, electrician, plumber and painter all came just as scheduled. Each workman was extremely professisonal, polite and willing to go the extra mile to meet any special requests that we had. The workmanship was excellent and everything went without a glitch. Family, friends and neighbors have all commented on how beautiful the "new" kitchen looks. Best of all, the price was excellent -- thousands of dollars less than estimates we had received from other kitchen remodelling companies in this area. In addition to using Kitchen and Floors for this job, we have used them in the past to install hardwood floors throughout our first floor and carpeting upstairs. Those jobs were also done in a professional, timely manner. We are glad to have such a fine family-owned business in our community and are pleased to be able to support it with our business as well as recommend it to our friends and neighbors.

I am writing this Angie's List excellent recommendation for Carpets & Floors, Kitchen & Bath Design Center of Burke, Virginia. Originally, I selected this contractor for the purchase of my Waypoint Living Spaces kitchen cabinets. After an exhaustive search for the ?right contractor,? I interviewed nine different prospective remodelers for my kitchen remodeling job. Some were individual contractors; some were high-end, upscale design firms. Some were middle range design firms. The quality of the work so exceeded my expectations that I wanted them to have this online recommendation. I was so pleased with the work of all of their talented craftsmen. Our brand new kitchen is fantastic, and we even asked them to continue by completing additional throughout all three levels of our home. All workers have been respectful, efficient, neat, hard working and they delivered craftsmanship that we are thrilled with. With remodeling work, there can be a risk to the outcome of each job. So I fastened my figurative seat belt, and started the ride. The promised deliverables were indeed on time, within budget and with precise and timely follow up for what turned out to be a reasonable, minor punch list. Paul Assad's project management turned out to ensure that all stages occurred like clockwork, with various crews arriving when expected, working in tandem with other crews. We have been highly pleased with the outcome, and we will only use Carpets & Floor, Kitchen & Bath for all of our remodeling needs, going forward. I give the entire staff at Kitchen and Bath my whole-hearted endorsement.

A big concern of ours was the potential for residual pet odors. They removed the carpet on a separate visit prior to instillation to be able to address any sub flooring issues. After airing out and a few sprays of odo ban, the floors were promptly installed. During one of Sonny and Arefs many visits to the house they were concerned about an area of buckling of our sub floor. Aref sent his carpenter out to make that repair at no extra charge. There was no extra charge for carpet removal on a separate visit. Originally we were going to put hardwood in the living room/dinning room, carpet the upstairs, hardwood the stairs with a carpet runner. Our steps are off to the side and not a focal point of the house. They pointed out how little wood would be visible and how much we would save if we went with carpet only on the stairs! We were so pleased with our hardwood choice for living room/dinning room we had them give us 2nd quote for all hardwood. The whole process was so much faster than I thought possible. We were completely comfortable with the workmen in the house. They were extremely clean and prompt. We were pleased with the price. I am again as proud of my beautiful home as I was when I moved in July 1986. Can not wait to see what they are going to do with my bathrooms!

These guys were fantastic! There was consistent communication throughout the scheduling process and the installers arrived on time and ready to work. They continued to work on the weekend to meet my schedule, and were very careful during the installation and cleaned up afterwards. The whole job was finished earlier than promised, and the floors look amazing! I would highly recommend carpet and floors for your next project. The price was very competitive and the quality of material and worksmanship was A++. I will use them again for any future projects without a doubt!

This is my third experience with Carpets and Floors, and I must say the quality of products and service keeps me coming back. In 2006 they carpeted my entire basement, the carpet has withstood hundreds of teenagers and spills and still looks great. In 2012, Carpets and Floors carpeted my upper levels with a quality carpet (not the cheap stuff other places tried to sell me for the same price). The installation was very professional and the extras of putting in new trim, cutting the carpet exact - even in the closets, as well as, recutting the baseboards to ensure an even look all the way around, pleases me and my wife tremendously. In 2013, we contracted Carpets and Floors to remodel our kitchen and install new hardwood floors throughout our new home. All three times we have used them, their price was lower than the other estimates received and the products selected were a higher grade than the others were quoting. Aref made sure we selected products that fit our homes character and A special thanx to Paul, who went out of his way to oversee all the details and workmanship for the entire job. Whenever we changed our mind on many items :-) Paul, was gracious and accommodated all our whims, even at his own expense. The owners and staff at Carpet and Floors did a tremendous job assisting us in designing a more efficient and beautiful kitchen. The job entailed tearing out and replacing the existing kitchen cabinets, countertops and flooring, and replacing the fluorescent lighting with recessed lighting, In addition, their team replaced all of the existing wood flooring on the main level, the stairway and the upstairs landing and gave everything a fresh coat of paint. They really listened to our needs and helped to create our dream kitchen. The remodel was completed in 2 weeks as promised. We loved the fact that they have their own workers and do not subcontract out. The owners Aref, Barry and Frank would regularly stop by to see how the progress was going, and if we were not completely satisfied with something, they immediately ensured that it was completed to our satisfaction. Their attention to detail and work ethic are superb. We highly recommend you consider them for any remodeling jobs since they are comprehensive remodeling experts.

Pretty good I suppose, this is family owned business which I appreciated. The installers were roughly 30 minutes late which was an annoyance since we had family coming in town a few hours after the installation. Instead I had to play host while cleaning up and putting all the furniture and such back together. Frank knows his hardwood flooring so when it comes time for that we will be back to see what he can do for us. Do's - be sure to have the space ready for the installers Don't - Don't sign anything at the end until you are 100% satisfied and all tasks that were agreed too were complete. Like moving furniture back.

It was a great experience. They worked with us, showed us different options, and they were very professional. They were very thorough and their in-home service was very good. I was very pleased with the results. They came in at a good price.

Their price was reasonable. They did an outstanding job...I would grade them an A plus. We had a deadline for them to finish because we were going to have an event at our house, and they finished early. They even lent us some carpet to use temporarily for the event to protect our new floors.

They have great follow up and come out if there are any problems. They were very flexible during the whole project. They did not use subcontractors they used their own people. They have great electricians and plumbers. I have not had any problems with them at all.

Overall went well. Had some problems with the granite not fitting.Stayed on a schedule. Cleaned up at the end of every day. Finished in a record time!!!! 3-4 weeksw everything was done. Most important. They gave us a quote at the beginning and stayed with that price till the end! Liked working with Frank.

carpet went well. looks good. hardwood floors on the other hand are a mess. to be fair, we have a large house and this was a large install. however, two years later i have gaps you can put a quarter on it's side into in places, uneven heights and cracks in the hardwood where it looks like the nails are too close to the edge, etc.. very unhappy with the hardwood install. having had this experience, i would not install prefinished hardwood again. i would opt for the sand and stain in place.

We sought four estimates, but Carpet and Floor distinguished themselves from others with their helpfulness in selecting the color and type of flooring, providing the pros and cons of each option, and offering their opinion when asked. One flooring company very highly rated by Angie's List tasked us with finding the floooring on our own; they had no showroom. The samples provided by Carpet and Floors, as well as their patience, time and advice, ensured we chose the correct flooring for our home. The floor installation team was fast and professional, and the process relatively painless. We highly recommend this company.

I have used them before and that?s why I picked them. The work went very well and they did it on time. The price was what they told me it would be, and they did exactly what they said they would do.
