I visited the Carpets and Floors, Inc. store because several neighbors got their hardwood floors from this company. The next week salesman from Carpets & Floors, as well as another company came to measure and give me an estimate for hardwood floors and carpeting in three small bedrooms. Frank recommended the 3/4" Capella engineered hardwood, which can be refinished twice, unlike normal engineered hardwood which can't be refinished at all. He also recommended a carpet quality and color, based on what I said I wanted. Frank gave me an estimate on the spot. He assured me the work would be done to my satisfaction, saying that as a family-owned business, they relied on customer references. The other salesman never did give me an estimate. After that, I got two more estimates for the hardwood - one much higher and one exactly the same. However, the company that provided the same cost estimate didn't have much experience with laying flooring over a concrete slab. When I went back to Carpets and Floors to borrow and return a carpet sample, they called a recent customer who invited me to look at the same flooring in her home. Not only was the flooring magnificent, Carpets and Floors had remodeled her kitchen, bathrooms, and downstairs recreation room. Everything was done with highest quality materials and the home looked like a showplace. The homeowner said that Carpets and Floors did excellent work and responded immediately to fix any problems. Two weeks after my rooms were measured, I signed a contract with Carpets and Floors. They installed the carpeting two days later. The workman were professional, pleasant, and quick. The carpet was attractive, the edges were finished well, and there were no seams. They took off their shoes in the house and vacuumed the carpet after it was installed. The job was done in two hours. It looked so nice that I called the store back and asked them to replace the master bedroom carpet also. Two weeks after the initial carpet installation, the hardwood installers came. It took from Monday to Saturday to complete the installation. The old flooring was removed and the basic hardwood installed in two days. The third and fourth day the baseboard installers came. I had not ordered the taller baseboard for the foyer where the floor was not being replaced. It was obvious that keeping the original shorter baseboards there would not be attractive. It happened that the salesman came to measure for the master bedroom carpet when the baseboard installers were there. He directed them to install new baseboards in the foyer, too, and did not charge extra for that. The baseboards were primed, but I had decided to paint them myself. That took five hours (!). Although I was ready for the installers to return on Friday afternoon, they returned on Saturday and finished the job. They were especially careful with the trim. They had to develop custom trim next to the slate pad in front of the fireplace, the sliding glass doors, and the transitions to the linen closet, kitchen, and foyer. Two weeks after that, the master bedroom carpet was installed. The same installers did the work, with the same clean, careful, professional results. When cleaning the kitchen floor, I noticed that the threshhold from the hardwood was slightly rough. I called Carpets and Floors and the hardwood trim installer came the next day, which was a Saturday. He used a very fine sandpaper to smooth the threshhold, as well as two other slightly rough pieces of trim that I had found. The roughness was so slight that the light sanding did not harm the finish. Frank and all of the installers were pleasant and professional. I would highly recommend Carpets and Floors, Inc.

They are competitive on price, efficient, service and quality. We worked with Steve who accommodated us quite well. He made great/economical recommendations and helped us decide what to do re: basement area.

THE COMPANY CAME IN AND REMOVED THE CARPET THAT WAS IN THE LIVING ROOM AND THEY VARNISHED THE FLOOR AND IT LOOKS GREAT. THEY EVEN HELPED ME MOVE THE FURNITURE BACK IN.
