He did a fine job but he wasn't all that diplomatic. He didn't make a good personal inspection. We actually had an appointment on Monday when the refrigerator blew a circuit breaker. The refrigerator is working and we are happy.
Description of Work: He worked on the refrigerator.

GE Technicians were sent to our home for a broken dishwasher through our home warranty purchased from Long and Foster. We have had 2 or 3 DIFFERENT technicians out to visit for the SAME ticket/issue for 6 separate visits, going on number 7 tomorrow (over a month and many hours missed from work). There is a profound lack of communication between GE Technicians, their customer service department, and again with the home warranty company. Each visit they order more parts. The next visit those parts don't work. A stack of discarded dishwasher parts, ordered on each separate visit, sit on our countertop as I type. One labeled "good parts" and the other labeled "bad parts." One parts order was over 500 dollars. Amazing further that GE Technicians would not seem to have ANY parts to a standard GE dishwasher product. One GE technician said "I don't know why they build these things this way" about the GE dishwasher! How disappointing, for the technicians hired by GE to not even understand or believe in their own products. This same technician was also confused about his own abilities to speak with the home warranty company, - first saying he would talk to them to get us a new dishwasher, rather than come back for visit #6, then denying that he could communicate with them at all. This is the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a company, and I am further amazed by how uneducated they are on their own product lines. I am in awe as I share with family, friends, coworkers, and others the most disappointing customer service I have ever encountered.
Description of Work: GE Technicians were sent to our home to fix a broken GE dishwasher on 6 failed attempts, going on the 7th.

They’ve generally been very good to work with overall.
Description of Work: I have an insurance policy with them for a heating and cooling system, along with the appliances in the kitchen.

It was two days before they could come out. The guy came out and supposedly fixed it and said it would be cool in the morning and it wasn't cool. Then a new guy came out and said it needs this part, but he didn't have it and I had to order it. That took a few more days at least. Meanwhile, I had guests in the house with no refrigerator. So finally they came out and they said they were going to have to get me a new one and that was a few more days. So it was almost two weeks without a refrigerator while I had house guests. I just thought it was really shabby service considering consumer reports rated it a 5. I was very dissatisfied. My experience with them was miserable.
Description of Work: GE Consumer Home Services repaired my refrigerator that died within the warranty period.

I contacted GE Consumer Home Services after Discount Service told me they could not fix my refrigerator. Since it was a GE Profile I contacted GE. They asked me if I had a service tech of theirs check it and I said no because to get an appointment usually takes a week and a half to two weeks. I was calling GE because they needed to follow up to see if they could fix my refrigerator which was only 5 years and two months old. GE put me on hold and when the operator came back on she told me she could have a tech at my house the next day. The tech came and spent about 45 minutes checking things on the refrigerator. His conclusion was it could not be fixed and they charged me $99.99 for the service call on their product that was only 5 years and two months old and could not be fixed. Discount Appliance did not charge me for two service calls they made because the refrigerator could not be fixed. I will not buy GE Appliances any longer in the future and I am going to contact GE customer service to see if I can get my money back for the service call.
Description of Work: I used Ge Consumer Home Services.

I made an appointment online and confirmed via phone for an appointment July 21, from 1-5pm. When I arrived home early from work for the appointment there was a ?Sorry we missed you? tag on my gate with the time 12:30pm?before my 1-5pm window! At 1:30pm I called the 1-800-432-2737 number and talked at length with Cheoki. I explained the situation and she said that she would request that a technician be re-dispatched to my home. I asked for a confirmation call, because if no technician was going to arrive, I would go back to work. She said that she would request a confirmation call. Two hours go by, and at 3:30pm I had not heard anything, so I called the 1-800-432-2737 number again. I spoke with another customer service representative (sorry I didn?t get her name) who was very understanding. She transferred me to Tracy in dispatch. At this point it was almost 4pm and Tracy told me that there was no way a technician would be at my house that day. I asked why no one called and told me this earlier in the afternoon, and she said that this was the first she heard about my request for a re-dispatch. She said that I had been rescheduled for Thursday, July 22 at 8:00am?they rescheduled me without even asking me if this was convenient! Also, she said the technician came to my house at 1:11pm so it was within my window and as a consequence I forfeited my appointment, whereas the tag says 12:30pm. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Eventually I was connected with Mr. McGee who was openly annoyed that I was talking to him and started off the conversation asking me why was I talking to him when any of the staff could have handled my call. I explain the situation, and he clearly did not believe that the tag said 12:30pm. He had no explanation of why no one called me at 1:30pm, and was unconcerned about the fact that I had lost a half day of work. He said I was rescheduled, and I informed him that no one talked to me about rescheduling. I asked what GE would propose to resolve the situation, and he said that GE would cover the home call, but would not cover the repair. He made a big deal of the fact that the home call is $99.95, which does not begin to cover my lost half day of work. I am appalled that GE has no respect for its customers? time. I will never get this half day of work back, and had someone called at 1:30 and told me that they could not reschedule me that day, I could have just gone back to work and rescheduled at a time convenient for me. It is likely I will need to purchase a new fridge. Although I have all GE Profile appliances (fridge, range, microwave, dishwasher, washer, and dryer) in my home, and I had planned to purchase a GE Profile fridge if my current fridge is not savable, I am now going to seriously reconsider. This is very arrogant behavior on GE?s part, first by arriving before the window, then by not calling when I requested a call, by being annoyed with me when I wanted to speak to a supervisor, and by not offering an adequate solution to the problem that was entirely made by GE. I am a very unhappy GE customer. Unfortunately I have been loyal to a company that does not value my time.
Description of Work: I scheduled a service visit for my GE Profile refrigerator. I schedule online through geappliances.com

Evan arrived and quickly diagnosed problem and replaced oven fan. In addition, he checked the companion GE Profile refrigerator and noted that the display was not working properly. He diagnosed the problem and replaced the main control board. He explained all of this to my wife and left an itemized bill. All parts have a 5-year warranty.
Description of Work: The GE Profile range oven fan was hitting enclosure. The appointment was set up using the GE Appliances on-line site. (Note: There is no address information on the web site so the required Zip Code is our home Zip Code.) (Note: The invoice shows "GE Consumer Home Services" with a Service contact number of "1-800-GE CARES.")
